alindahl Posted May 15, 2016 Report Posted May 15, 2016 I'm new to the forum (and relatively new to Bellingham itself) and I was wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown of the other gaming clubs/stores in the region besides Dark Tower? What is the closest one to Bellingham? Are there a few in the Seattle area? Any in Vancouver (BC)? Thanks! 1 Quote
JMGraham Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Going north, WCP used to be the big club up in Vancouver, BC. Then Team CHOP! came along. I'm not sure of the current state of the great white North. GameStars is just over the border in Langley and is an amazing store for games and tournaments: http://gamestars.ca/ To the east, we've got Da Mommas Boyz in Idaho. A group of folks usually make over the mountains once a year your their big tournament. To the far south we have Ordo Fanaticus in Portland (and Vancouver, WA). They're all jerks and nobody likes them, but we try and make it down there at least once a year for a really small, boring event called the Ordo Fanaticus Club Challenge (OFCC).Just to make fun of them and beat them up, if for no other reason. There are also significant pockets of gamers in Seattle and Olympia. Things shift around though, so I'll let someone who's more current fill in the gaps! 1 Quote
Fix Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 There's another store in town on Meridian called Games and Things. They've got a great board game room (though Dark Tower's has outgrown it in the last year), and a club that focusses mostly on Battletech and Flames of War. Quote
Sherbert Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 There is Card Kingdom down in Seattle that does everything from Magic the Gathering to Board games. Im sure there are some other hobby shops in the Seattle area but the scene in that area has been dwindling for a long time. Quote
intrizic Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Mugu games in Everett has a game club as well, they mostly focus on 40k though 1 Quote
alindahl Posted May 16, 2016 Author Report Posted May 16, 2016 Thanks for the continued input guys, this is very helpful. Quote

Wiccus Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I would also put in that Mugu has a very active Bolt Action community. Can't comment on the 40k crowd much but the Bolt Action guys are rad. Also Bolt action is great 2 Quote
smashthedean Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 All of this said, come down and play games with us at Dark Tower too :P What do you play? Quote
alindahl Posted May 17, 2016 Author Report Posted May 17, 2016 AoS, but nobody at DT seems to give it much love haha, unless there is someone I haven't met yet. Know of any? Quote
alindahl Posted May 17, 2016 Author Report Posted May 17, 2016 I'm also interested in Infinity, but I want to sit down and watch a game of it before I commit. It seems like a lot of fun. Quote
intrizic Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 I believe there is a game of infinity in the making for tonight.... There is also an ugly rumor of an Infinity league coming up soon 1 Quote

I never played Fantasy, I read quite a bit of the 9th Age rules though. Seems like it would be a good game, I just don't think the new models would work on square bases very well as their footprints are too big and have too many different poses. They don't regiment up very well. :/ Plus I like AoS quite a bit haha Quote
Munkie Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Warhammer fantasy was at its best when nothing ranked up well. Orcs, dwarves, and chaos warriors all spilled over their bases and lizardmen and skaven poked each other with their tails. Ah yes. Those were the days. 1 Quote
