I don't know how effective genestealers are at the moment, but add in some gaunts and a hive tyrant and you pretty much have an entire army. If this box ends up true, it's a hell of a deal.

Posting from phone so bear with me. Leaks are out, new ba/tyranid box ala spacewolves/orks. Ba get: 1 unique captain 5 termies 5 death co. 1 dc dread. Tyranids get: 1 new brood lord 8 genestealers 3 warriors 1 carnifex Mini rulebook w/ ba graphics campaign book 3 missions, 2 formations $125 I for sure am going to buy it as soon as possible. Any takers for those 'nids? ;)

Why not both (Gamer AND collector)? I kind of like the collecting of things but with the intention of playing with them at some point. Don't have enough room in my house to display my stuff though.

Yes. People speculate a Tyrant guard brood but that is not an effectiveness parity.

There's some speculation regarding the BA side of the box. It's difficult because there is no comparable kit to the greyhunters/bloodclaws for BA so its a matter of determining if they are going for model count parity or model cost parity. The bloodclaws kit is only 5 bucks more than the DC kit so you can't really justify a second kit like assault marines or sanguinary guard. We shall see I guess. Personally, I suspect they are going with 5 DC, 5 assault marines, the dread and the captain. I've heard other say they were going to do 5 DC, 5 sanguinary guard, the dread and the captain which sounds equally as plausable.

Also keep in mind the mobile terrain/LOS blocking aspects of these things. Large bugs have problems hiding behind cover most of the time as it is but now they can move/deploy cover.

These new shots look even better. Seriously, this is a major upgrade both in ability and in aethetics for Tyranids. Seriously cool stuff.

What I meant was that people knew something was coming but the specifics were completely unknown and generic. They didn't know if the models were going to be MCs or just infantry sized.

I am guessing some industrious individual could print out those scenarios and those new tiles and then past them onto cardboard pieces to effectively get the new content. Unless those scenarios are in addition to the 4 they are including in the new box set.

Hey, if anyone is going to part out one of these new boxes, I would be in the market for terminators and the new bits.

Dreads are better transported in a Drop Pod but we won't get into that. Rather than argue the point, I'm going to just say I disagree and leave it alone.

Sorylians also have a problem with battleship on battleship combat. The solution is: Don't fight battleships with them. I have no experience with Relthosa ships but if they don't seem to work against same class vehicles then they may need to find a different fight to pick.
