The formation rules indicate all units from the Formation you have applying a lot of liberal reading into leaving an immobilized Pirannah behind results in it no longer being a unit of the formation there buddy. Either way the cheapest Aux in the Dawn Blade is the Air Cadre Asset which is only one flyer.
  4. Problem with that Piranah formation is when one gets immobilized and not within 6" of the board egde, it loses the ability to refuel

  9. With the Upcoming New Tau update, I wanted to give a chance at a build that was not completely static and not entirely dependent on Markerlight using the new rules update. Here are the Formations / Detachment at hand for reference: [Link to IMGUR Album] The Detachment Rules are: Re-Roll Warlord Traits (All, not just Tau) When a Unit Declares its firing target, you can have Units join into that fire. If 3 units join in, they all benefit from +1BS. Markerlights consumed affect all of the units (so 2 ML for ignore cover for all of their fire) The Core Formation Rules are: (Hunter Cadre) Supporting Fire rule from the models in this Formation are 12" versus 6". Units within 12" of the Formation Commander can choose to run and then fire. The Auxiliary Formation Rules are: (Optimized Stealth Cadre) During the Shooting Phase of the Formation, the Ghostkeel unit gain +1 BS and Ignore Cover. The Stealth Suits also benefit from Ignore Cover and +1BS if they are within 6" of one of the Ghostkeel from the Formation. Also in addition they always Hit Rear armor no matter the facing.Now for the Army List: Hunter Cadre Core Formation: 1 Commander with Stimulant Injector, Drone Controller, Command and Control Node, 2 Marker Drones. 3 Units of 5 Strike Team. 1 XV104 Riptide with TL SMS, Heavy Burst Cannon, Early Warning Override, Counterfire Defense System. 1 Unit of 4 Marker Drones. 1 KV108 Stormsurge with TL SMS, Cluster Rocket System, 4 Destroyer Missiles, Pulse Driver Cannon, Early Warning Override. Two Optimized Stealth Cadre: 1 Unit of 2 Ghostkeels with Cylic Ion Raker, TL Fusion Blaster, 1 with Vectored Rethro Thruster, 1 with Target Lock. 2 Units of 3 Stealth Suits with Burst Cannon. Total of list is 1,848 Points. Pretty much a MSU mobile army minus the Stormsurge and the Strike Teams. If I am facing an Alpha strike Army, I would probably keep the Ghostkeels on the table and use their awesome defense mechanics to survive the initial output of fire. The Optimized Stealth Cadre can easily give themselves with the Detachment+Formation rules +2 BS and Ignore Cover without any markerlight necessary while the Markerdrones and Commander will effectively try to assist the Riptide and or Stormsurge (Especially the Stormsurge since i can use Markerlight Hits to up a Destroyer Missile from Str 8 to Str D.) The Command and Control Node is mostly on the Commander to try to reroll Shots versus Snapshots aka Invis and Flying.
  10. Keep in mind there is a very high chance that all Pulse Weapons will become mechanically like those. And that there is a drone in the current codex that increases pulse weapon range. Wouldnt be surprise if he comes back and affects those range bands.
  11. Orikan allows you to reroll save rolls of 1s if the unit has Reanimation Protocol Rule. Per ITC, a 2+ save rolling a 1 would get a reroll. 4+ per ITC.

  14. Cast of Player would be amazing if it allowed Reroll on the Warlord Table and gained Rising Crescendo. WIthout those two things I feel its just not worth it. Dominate + Horrify + Illyth (+ Mast of Secret) actually would stop Fearless no problem since Fearless models arent immune to LD but only Morale and Pinning. At this point its hard to play around with points
  15. Hey Puppy, thanks for the feedback, I actually thought a lot about it myself. Illyth allows me to take Objective Secured Harlequins which is a Boon. I actually start the game with Illyth in the Seer Council cause he is Fearless and actually quite mobile since he can move 6", Battlefocus/run/shoot since the Council have Battle Focus as well, and he can JSJ in the Assault Phase. He also gives the Council Hit & Run and Split Fire (His gun is actually pretty good at killing smaller vehicles) while giving the council the ability to charge something different. (I am actually playing around giving the Council Spears) His UNIQUE Aspect Power actually shines a lot in some weird ways. His ability is a 6" bubble that makes all enemy units add an extra D6 (Discarding the lowest) when taking Leadership Tests and Morale Tests. Well when you get him in 6" of lets say a Nasty Deathstar and you have Dominate + Horrify (+Mask of Secret if you can) than you can permanently shut down that UNIT for as long as you want. It also works weirdly with Laugh of Sorrows in the Phantasmy Powers or Terrify or straight up. And lastly he gives them Hit & Run as well. I agree with you that the Caress is a much better mechanic especially when you go against an invisible unit and you give them Prescience and watch the Pain Train. But I am going to play that Knight in that role, to chase down the units they cant impact. If I had the points, the Windriders getting guns would be my last priority and the reason behind this is because I like having a simple unit in them when so many of the other units require some complex decision making in regards to movement and psychic powers, I dont want to have to think too much every game about if I gamble the shots or just turboboost on taht objective.

Roughly about 6 months ago I took a very new Harlequin Dex army to Adepticon and did well with them but that was mostly revolving around a really strong 1 trick pony mechanic. Well after a very successful ITC Season with my Drop Skitarii, I want to bring back my first love this year but in a more mean and consistent ITC prepared list. I took them earlier this year to their first ITC tournament with the same list I took to Adepticon and they got themselves wrecked hard mostly because I was depending on an unnerfed Invis, I went back to the drawing boards after many lessons with my Skitarii and came up with this: Combined Arms Detachment Eldar Craftworld: Farseer on a Skyrunner with the Stone of Ananth-ReduceWarpCharges Spiritseer 3 Units of 3 Windriders with TL Shuriken Catapults 1 Wraithknight with the GhostGlaive, Shield & 2 Scatter Laser 1 Void Shield Generator with 2 Projected Shields Allied Detachment Harlequin: Irillyth Phoenix Lord (All FW Units Codex Eldar per ITC are Harlequin available) Shadowseer (Mastery Level 2) with Miststaff and Mask of Secret Troupe with Troupe Master and 7 Harlequin (All have Harlequin Kisses) Craftworld Formation: Seer Council on Skyrunner (2 Farseers and 7 Warlocks) The army is effectively a triple threat between an Harlequin Star, a Jedi Star and a Wraithknight. The Void Shield per ITC gives the Objective Secured Harlequins a much defensive mechanic versus Alpha Strike list since Armorbane, Graviton and Haywire rules do not affect them. The rest of the army depnds on the match up. If I am playing versus MSU with mechanized, I will be rolling on sanctic for the Warlocks and the Ananth Stone seer. Againsst anything else, its about chasing Fortune and Double Invis while keeping 2 Seperate Shriek. The way I envision the army functioning is the Wraithknight chases down the things the Seer Councils dislike punching, the Seer Council chases down the thing the Wraithknight doesnt get lock in combat with and the Harlequins take center table and lay down some lethal psychic / melee threat range.

  20. Honestly while the Celestant Prime Model is amazing, the Rules for him are Good but not Overpowering. He has no saves of any kind versus Mortal Wounds, he has fewer wounds than most models of his size and to make him effective in combat you have to wait 2-3rd turn in game. NOW that doesnt mean at all he is bad, he will wreck a lot of things but I see him as the best destroyer of Backfield Shooting model Sigmarines have. He can also alpha strike characters but keep in mind that since you have to pick which model swings first during your turn, if he gets wrapped up into a unit with even a Rend characteristic of 1 or causes Mortal Wounds, he can go down fast.
  21. Without jumping too much on Pax, But what the hell is with the hate. ITC hasn't like made you an orphan by killing your parents in a dark alley over some pearl necklace but you act like some sort of super-vigilante on it at every occasion. Most of the time your grief is stemming from your interpretation of an ITC rule or mechanic that you came up with on your own in vaccuum and parade it like its gospel when in fact you are usually incorrect and when someone points it out, you just return to your cave and await another delusion to come around...
