I saw the box at the FLGS, held it while contemplating purchasing it and reviewing the contents. As much as the Star Wars Miniatures geek in me that never got to play the one in the mid 90s wants to play this, I just don't imagine it getting much use at the moment. Painting the figures would be fun, as well, but without anyone to play with/against, it's not a worthwhile investment. :( Maybe if I hung out more at the LGS, I'd have a greater number of geeky friends.

Well, snap. The LGS has like 3 of them, all at 35% off. I was tempted to pick one up the other day. I'm tempted to get at least two of them. This thread has made me far less likely to pick up two. I was thinking combine one with a Knight to make a Chaos Knight, and use the wheels for a Tower of Skulls or Doom Blaster. The other, I would build a Lord of Skulls with. Hmm.

If this was the friendlier list, I'm interested in seeing the other. hah

Great suggestion. We played Star, and I can see how easy some of those two cards get. Things also went really well for me, and I feel like I may not have done things appropriately. It seems like things can get really cut throat if you want to play rough. Had great success with Munchkin tonight. Took it over to my brothers for Games 'N Brunch. They had never played it before. He and I started a 2 player game to walk through it all while she was cooking so they could get familiar. During the second turn, a friend showed up with his girlfriend. She sees the cards and turns to her boyfriend and says "Oh my god, babe, this is that game I was telling you about! I can't believe I'm seeing it a second time in two weeks! We've got to play!" She looks like Selma Hayek. Everyone was sold on the game at that point. Then, maybe four hours later, a friend calls and says she is in town. She shows up and was talking about Settlers of Catan. I'm thinking that's the next game purchase. Or another Munchkin Core Set to add some more diversity. I'm not sure.

Expounding upon the OPs question, I enjoy the Mecha feel of WM, is their a faction that has mecha in all of it's Unit Slots? Also, are the rules strict at all about paint schemes? Do you "have" to paint your models Red if you're playing Khador, as an example?

That was hella fun. I'm going to have to pick that up next time. The game is really simple, the rules are 3 cards in hand at start of game, Draw 1 card and Play 1 Card. There are cards that modify the rules, such as drawing more, playing more, hand limits, etc. There are also cards that modify the victory conditions, as the game doesn't start with any. I played the Sci-fi version, although there are numerous varieties.

So I just stumbled upon these. FFG is doing well, I think, in going against GWs grain and having established Tourny protocol on it's releases. Facing 3+ Armor in EVERY army gets really dull. Facing Las/Plas 6 man Razor Spam (in previous editions) gets really dull. Spam happens. Especially in competition. If I go to a tourny, I know I'll see certain things.

Two of the Girls I work with. One's 18, the other is 23 and also does Jeep Modeling, so spends over an hour a day at the gym 5 days a week. Oh wait, they aren't in Tech Support, they do Customer Service.

How many players are you guys finding in your groups? Have you had to play where someone isn't present for a portion of the campaign, and if so, how did it effect the mission, do the core rules address that?

Watching Season 3 of House of Cards. I'm about half way through it, currently. So far it isn't as "edge of my seat" enticing as the first two seasons, but it's been enjoyable so far. Withholding rating until I finish the season.

This. It doesn't matter what you do to "make a more balanced game." It only changes how people get to the top. Personally, I'm a fan of the rules. But the rules also state both players have to agree to the rules. Clearly, people cannot agree to the rules. lol
