  1. Well the snooty Elves had a plague ravage their lands and it is time to invade them while they are still regrouping. Of course the lands are ripe for Necromancers so who knows what battle may be seen. Game anyone? TnT 1500 for 3 players or 1250 for 4 players. Soind good?
  2. Everyone is allowed their own opinions. I myself have looked at both and played HoR's rules and love them. The rules are really easy to learn if you are able to navigate GW's rules, no one can say they are easy to learn, so I don't see and issue to this. Also I played skirmish games for awhile and GW's is still as inbalanced as before, lack of play testing is my guess, while if you read through HoR's rules you will see they spent many hours tweeking things to balance out the armies. (Read through the army lists and it becomes very evident.) Also I love the individual hiring over the Squad hiring. GW's units are not equally balanced and hiring straight units leaves the point balancing act a really challenge to spend the max points without buying loadouts you don't want or need. The one thing GW's has over HoR is that it is way dumb down so if you are not into skirmish games and list designing it would be easier to sit down and play without having to read or learn anything new. The truth is GW's Kill Team is 40k lite while HoR's is an actual skimish game.
  3. Hey guys so I am wanting to play fantasy at OFCC and am in need of a team. Dark Elves is the flavor and fun is what I have been working hard on. I also live downtown right across the river from the Twin Oaks so getting there and and transporting things is nothing. So hope to hear from a great team.
  4. Nice Batrep and solid advice. From reading the batrep over I would say the Ork player was smart with his numbers, Mob Rule, but the Mega Nob and Lootas probably slowed him down too much. With the heavy amount of terrain sitting Lootas back and just unloading is harder when you can just block los or use Hide rule. Gretchen Herds for meat sheilds, Stormboyz, Deffkoptas and Warbikes will be seen more. The GKs just did not have enough models. Much like a Deathwing army it would be nasty if it wasn't for the fact every death is felt dearly.
  5. Don't appologize, I am excited too. Inquisition Xenos and Death Watch together hunting a rouge menence.
  6. Crisis Suits with plasmas! But damn does it feel good when they go down. When I get them locked in combat I kind of smile to myself. Nice to see another member of the Kill Team.
  7. Nids, haven't given them much thought yet since they have been Rare. Nid swarm! "Sergent I am almost out of ammo and their everywhere."
  8. Well in Kill Team the Feel No Pain is great but their speed and 6+AS is a liability. You would have to use terrain and the 'hide' rule to get them into battle. Hide is a CC monsters freind. It would be doable as long as the board has the proper amount of terrain. Though I would advise bringing some Reavers.
  9. You know I could use that Tua for my Kill Team. What are you looking mostly? I have lots of infantry, 2 Vindicators and other stuff.
  10. And that makes me think of an interesting question for everyone. Is there a second army you always wanted to try but couldn't afford it?
  11. Having a difficult time here. I picked up a box of Veteran Vanguards and find myself conflicked. Do I make them DA like the rest of my SMs or venture into my second favorite chapter, Raven Guard? Obviously I can just not paint the models till I decided but not owning the SM codex would I be cheese balling it by going with them instead of sticking to my original army or what? Any Raven Guard players out there?
  12. As a Dark Elves player myself I will say "well said". But to throw out the original artist's name like it was your brothers and to have the old schoolers jump in and speak for you so fast I have to be me and say "Pa, who was that masked man?" Back to the subject, for the reasons LoF listed I will be running Corsairs as my core for a while. They are very good and cheaper than the other boxes.
  13. It is and I love skirmish style games too. Keep us informed on your experience. And at OFCC maybe we can get a game in sometime that weekend.
  14. Wait, which rules set are you using? N/M, looking at the points and individual models I see another HoR player.
  15. No, he is talking about the GW's Kill Team rules. Where you hire units, not individual models. Also so far I don't see HoR crossing any lines yet. It is free fan based rules that still require the brb and codexes. Now GW could go after them for something eventually but I doubt they would send lawyers till money was involved. And Fluger you are in the Great Northern Washington, right?
  16. I say Orkify Imperial Street! What works for the Imperials works for the Orks. Just watch out for clumping on top of buildings making it easy fodder for Blasts. And get out that Ork bits box and make ot yours. And remember, no Ork home is complete without colorful SM helmets. They come in so many wonderful colors.
  17. Well unfortunately I am trying to make an Assualt Marine Apothecary from one of the Vanguard models. So I don't think it will work. Thanks though.
  18. Hey guys. So I am in need of an Apothecary Nethecium Arm and shoulder pad if one is availible. I have lots of bits to trade or cash if all else fails.
  19. It is 250 pts. Here is a link to the rules we are using along with the army lists you build from. http://heralds-of-ruin.blogspot.co.uk/p/kill-team-rules.html?m=1 Very fun lists.
  20. Hey James, Happy B-Day. Also bring those Tau. I found in Kill Team Tau is very even with everyone else so those Battle Suits with 2 plasma guns are nasty but hurts you a lot when it goes down. Remember there is a lot of terrain for models to hide in and only so many marker lights. So bring it! :D
  21. Hey Raze, I understand the avalibility issue. Been there. I would suggest units that are fast or have infitrate. Orcs have a lot of options and Gretchin Herds act as meat shields for anything behind it! Helps get those boyz into assualt range. As of now Stormboyz, Kommandos and Deffkoptas look like good choices for elites. And don't forget your Painboy! CSM are an interesting choice with all the boosts from the gods and flooding the field with cultist is not a bad idea either. Warp Tallons and Raptors also look like great choices. No Apothecaries but who needs them when Papa Nurgle is watching your back. CSM can get expensive fast so do not forget the cultist to boost that body count up. IG I am not so sure about yet. I haven't spent a lot of time looking them over becuase the new book should be out early spring so I am waiting. And HoR seem to be very fast at updating their team lists to the new codexes.
  22. Eek! @_@ So am I the only healthy person now? (Maybe this is how the Zombie Apocalypse starts. Need to find weapons fast.) Seriously, get well soon guys. If I am lucky I will miss this round of flu again and will see you next week, if you're not out trying to eat human flesh that is.
  23. So I read through the SM list choices and Why oh Why does Raven Guard have to be so juicy? Serriously check it out. A full list with of Jump Infantry with Vanguard lighting claws and an Apothecary in a jump pack. Expensive team but one that is fast and packs a serrious punch. And for those that don't know Apothecaries and the likes are very very good in Kill Team. 6" Bubble of FNP.
  24. So me and Sketchymon have been playtesting the rules for Kill Team and have really been having a good time. We were talking about getting more players to have a Champaign in the future. So the question is anyone interested? The HoR Kill Team rules are free, the teams are easy to put together and it plays fast and with lots of action. So if you have been wanting to play scouts and assualt troops, with tons of terrain everywhere, without the nasty powerhouse lists being on the feild this is your side game. (The game has an interesting feel without all the ST10 AP2 blast weapons and Ripetides being king of the battlefield.) If you are at least interested post here or send us a PM and lets get a game in. The first couple of games might be about 2 hours to get a hang of the game but I see it being a quick pick up game. We are 'Fun' gamers and are looking for more players to have 'fun'. (Fun meaning we like to play for fun and are not overly competetive. We like to luagh at our misfortunes and talk about new list ideas and tactics during games. And have a beer!)
