  1. @Dashneeb. Well let's not forget the White Elephant in the room, New Releases! People forget the money that is put into production and it is not made up in the first year of release. And if rumors are right they will keep up with the high release rate for the next year at least. The new CEO obviously has an ambitious idea on how the company will run. It maybe 2-3 years before they see how the returns will do.
  2. Not that my opinion matters here but the competitive gamers are the ones having the main issues at this time. With all the quick changes and a release schedual that is amazing it is not like the old days. Back when you could learn a codex fully learn its counters before the next beastly codex comes out. And the really competitive players codex jumped everytime a new one came out that had good rules. Now that is in the past and the new way is flood the scene with new toys that are a Rocm, Paper, Sissors where no one codex rules them all. And Allies made building a unbeatable list impossible. Us non-competitive players are just enjoying the new stuff coming out without compairing and breaking numbers down to maximise our new list effectiveness. In fact it might be a long time before I play a non Kill Team game and hope that the winds have died down some and players can once again bring that 'fun' list out becuase they wanted to try out unit X without being concerned wheather or not their list is competitive. I just want to have fun and share some laughs and stories.
  3. So I am getting Krosmaster Arena for me and my son to play as a father son activity. Anyone out there own this and are there suggestions for expansion packs? And any tips on teaching a kid would be great too. (We have learned lots of games together and he is a bright 7 year old but tips are still good.)
  4. @HeroZero. You mean 6th allies has done wonders for GW's sales of Tau and Eldar. If and when allies comes to Fantasy I really hope there are some serrious restrictions on who and how they can ally, for balance sake.
  5. I was going to say your pieces are actually better than the one pictured here. Just my opinion though. As for the mantic pieces I have some already and they are not bad but still is going to need more modeling bits to hold together right. And you will need several sets to even get enough terrain to do a kill team board. Back on to the main topic, do you have pics of your ideas shoe man? I also have the Mantic pieces if you need ideas for templates for this project. (What can I say, I got the Kill Team big in me.)
  6. Hold off for the moment. Head Quarters changes, finecast being phased out and store closers are from an older rumor that is not a huge surprise with the CEO changes in the last year and a half. The new rumor about dropping fantasy armies seems more of a shot in the dark added to the already existing rumors that have some credibility but this does not mean it will be more true. This source is not the origonal source for the HQ changes, finecast phase out or the others so don't sell your stock in salt yet. It looks to be a booming year for salt. If the rumors are true you will not be alone with your pitchfork and expect fanbased clubs yanking the WHFB out of GW's hands.
  7. Very fun game, though I learned a valuable lesson, don't let the Eldar get a dug in deffensive position with long firing lanes. Sketchymon's tactical choice on area to hold up was solid and turned the game from a free for all into a two on one and still wiped us out to a man. Though that game was one sided it was a great learning experience for us all. Look forward to future games. And I am working on some ideas for a list to deal with jumpy Bikes and Packs. But my choices for Xenos armies is good. Currently reading the Necron book and those Wraiths in kill team would be brutal.
  8. Any SM players have a Heavy Flammer from the Sternguard box they like to trade or sell? If so I kind of need one.
  9. Got two tables reserved for tomorrow at 3. See you guys then.
  10. Sweet Emperor's nipples! That is a fantastic table! I'd hate to ask you to drag that out but how can one resist? Let's say around 3ish for start time and let's see where the day takes us. Necrontyr, you in? Come on down and let's try that list out. Edit: I don't know of any rules for doors but we can come up with some good ones for this. But I will have to rubout those Xenos loving Imperial Guardsmen. No Tau loving soldiers should be left to spread their filth.
  11. So wanting to get some games in, any other takers? I will go down to GG Saturday and set up a table. So if you want a demo game or to show off some list filled with fluff characters come on down.
  12. Been looking at the points and a Sternguard with a heavy flamer might be a gem. A heavy flamer will be interesting becuase you can auto hit several targets at once and ignore cover! ST5 AP4 is going to cuase issues for all non-marine armies and still make SM armies throw those dice often enough to make them uncomfortable. Next game I am going to have to run a heavy flamer to see how it performs.
  13. Good points Chaos Lord. After some thought I just might go with a Sternguard with a Heavy Weapon with Suspensors. Cheaper and a Las Cannon will still have a 24" range. @Last Bullet- We're playing the HoR rules not GW's. Better rules set for those who are into skirmish games. GW's is just kind of not my thing. Not a seriously well thought out rules set that just feels more like a 40k lite. If you love skirmish games check out Heralds of Ruin Kill Team.
  14. But the Centurion has the Move through cover rule in KT. Seperate rule.
  15. Thanks for the clarification, I don't have the SM Codex yet so wasn't sure. Then again that thing ignores difficult terrain which is great, since it is everywhere in KT. My thought is a team is dropped in by a Thunderhawk in a quick drop and secure mission. Speed is key but a BFG is always a welcome sight.
  16. So I am almost done with my Raven Guard Assualt team and was thinking of a long range fire support for them. The Centurion a totally crazy idea? It would get a scout move then it can stand and lay down a heavy fire while giving my opponent something to think about while the assualt troops do their thing.
  17. Allies are now the rule of the game and should not be removed. It wouldn't affect me much so I voted the second option. But remember the OFCC team knows all about the 'Tau for every list' or every other heavily used power combos that defy fluff. So expect Taudar and other high powered lists being asked to be toned down. OFCC lists are not just a free for all and the players that come know this. And lets face it, CSM needs their Demons and renegade IG ally to be fair. And DA also needs their IG support if they are not running a straight Ravenwing list. Allies will be there, and the list judges are watching too.
  18. All hail the Witch King! For his first decreed everyone must wear leather gimp suits, sleep in your basements and listen to goth music all night. Oh, and smoke clove cigerettes. Great night everyone. Shane and Seth it was great having you in the game and would love to have you play again. Nephren-Ka, thanks for being my point man. I couldn't have done it without you. ;) (I smell a beating coming soon. Good thing Dark Elves are masochistic.)
  19. Well it looks like someone can setup a Kill Team group up there. :D
  20. So I got two more HoR Kill Team games in this weekend and learned a lot more. There were some rules that we have been missing and I have played almost all the Missions now. Again movement is king. So I am itching for more. That said I am looking to get a game in this week or next weekend. I would like to set up a day, and if anyone is interested I can run a demo games. So let me know. And Sketchymon I would like to get a game in with you too. Have a Raven Guard list that I loved this weekend that I would love to show your Eldar. ;)
  21. Hey there, so I am looking to build an Eldar Kill Team and I need just a few units. I am looking for; 3 Jet Bikes Guardians 5 Banshees A couple Dark Reapers A war Walker (Unpainted please) Rangers I have trade and $ next Friday. If you want to know more about Kill Team let me know too.
  22. Yes, this was released as apart of the Christmas count down releases. Dec 20th-ish. Much like the other releases it was a quickly put together rules for just fun. It is a rules amendment from GW's Kill Team rules they used in special events in the past. Simple rules to get a quick lite game in. Good for those who just want to try a low point 40K game. But not a complex thought out skirmish game. But there are other fan made rules sets out there if you want a more well thought out one.
