  1. My CR90 missile is better than your Glatiator one. (Well more cost effective at least.) This tactic was used in the Clone Wars and is valid when a crippled ship has no other route. "To the escape pods!"
  2. Also the size of a fleet is not that bad, 3-4 capitals, and squadrons are easy to move around. On a 3x6 table there should be plenty of 'space'. (Ok you can hate me for that. ) The issues with the game I believe will be in the Command areas as players have to figure out this new mechanic. I like this mechanic as it adds lots of depth but the rules are still being hashed out on the FFG Forum as to how they work. I will have the core set soon and have the whole wave 1 on preorder so when it comes in I will hopefully be doing demos soon.
  3. Yeah, Rudra doesn't deserve the abuse. He as been mostly watching and his comments are in good jest. He's a way better guy than me when it comes to forum nice-guys. I agree the end of End Times was not writte well and felt cheap and more of an excuse to justify whatever changes happen, but we still can disagree and not hate on one another.
  4. Time will tell but as this KS comes to an end I am glad I was able to get into it. It looks great and the price is great for what we get.
  5. Well I think they had the Artist sculpt out all the clans while working on the rules and maybe they just couldn't make a 6 player game work right but decided since they had the sculpts mine as well give them out. (The early art work showed all six of the clans together. Also it is said the designer wanted all the factions to be slightly different in play but he couldn't balance it properly so he went with them all starting the same.)
  6. You win this time Sylvos. The thread has been officially derailed. And what a wreck it was.
  7. Ok there 'Wood'elf, don't go shaking your timber at me. Dare you to scalpt a Woodelf army with hardons. Just make those cod pieces a little bigger.
  8. JESUS! I think I am going to call you Treekin from now on there woodboy. That or Mr. Mahogany.
  9. So it is official, Armada is out next week and the rules are live on their product page! So screw Worlds being blown up in fantasy settings. Too damned depressing so let's blow up star ships instead! Seriously, if I am reading the rulebook right it looks solid and more complex than X-Wing in a non-Epic game while being very clear. More to come.
  10. If you want to play a 5 player game you will need to get the expansion pack. (There are cards needed to make a 5 player game work.) Also no rules for a 6 player game, but with a game of this size I see a 5 player game being crowded. Only the BIG BAD WOLF left for SG's.
  11. There is an appeal to 40K and there is one for WHFB. Too bad 40K is unbalanced as all get out, last time I played, otherwise my painted Dark Angel army would be out of storage. As for new players you don't find that out till you watch Taudar rape you silly time and again. In fact Tau anything. (If I ever play again and someone pulls out a Tau allied army I am walking out. And no, there is no justifiable fluff for a Grey Knight/Tau army.) At least WHFB the game and players worked on a balance that 40K gave up on. So the story may seem interesting but the game just disappoints me now.
  12. According to the comments those are going to be taken care of, whatever that means.
  13. $705,00 with more than a day left! Boars will be reached before the end of the hour. What's Next?
  14. Nope, the Boar Clan. Be careful though. This SG is not a 5th player expansion and doesn't have the cards needed for a five person game. I will say the Boar Clan is really cool looking.
  15. The third of the four shamans has been unlocked. With 51 hours left they have raised $620,000! Last shaman will be easy, but will there be anything after that? Zombicide 3 stopped at a certain when they ran out of their prepared goals. Will this be the same?
  16. I stand corrected. But Lileath did help Eldyra build a new reality from the power she gained when she was trapped in Castle Drakenhof. Doesn't really matter though, unless they connect the two games again, the main connection is that the WHFB was the inspiration for 40K and several of its races are directly taken from WHFB.
  17. Same Chaos Gods two different realities. At the end of the last End Times book they mention the Chaos Gods destroying all of that reality, but one soul, and then they got bored and moved on to the next reality to destroy. So they are the same gods, I will give you that, but the realities are different. Samething happened in ET Khaine when Lileath helped Eldyra create a new reality so the Elven spirit can begin a new on a new world in a new reality. Also Brother G let's not call Pretre names or get mad at each other here. He is just argueing the counter point which honestly is needed in a discussion like this. Our opinions on the out come of End Times will differ and I am lf the same mind as you, I didn't like it. Pretre though has not read the ET fluff and is just reporting from his stand point as an outside viewer but his knowledge of 40K is quite extensive. In the end (pun mildly intended) what happened happened. Will 9th suck or will it be amazing or somewhere inbetween? We will have to wait and see. But I have stated it before it will be no easy task for GW to pull this off. (On a side note the author of ET Archaon did apologize for the contradictory parts of the stories from one book to the next) From his Twitter feed. "Why is Eldyra in the book? Wasn't she turned into a goddess? Ah. I've been waiting on this one. Eldyra's presence in The Lord of the End Times is what we, in the biz, like to call a '***** up.' Mostly on my part, I think. See, what happened was, I included her in the book because I thought her final fate hadn't been covered by anyone else, and I thought it wasn't exactly fair to turn her into a vampire in the first book and then never mention her again. Too, the fifth ET book was pretty light on female characters. So, I put her in, and decided to give her and Tyrion a last moment for some (probably unnecessary) pathos. Just to twist the knife a bit before the end. What I didn't *know* at the time, was that she'd been turned into a goddess in ET: Khaine. I didn't find that out until after this book was already at the printers. By the time I learned about it, it was too late to hack those bits out. Frankly, it was my fault for not triple-checking. Just like leaving out Alith Anar and Skarsnik. It's filed under 'Things I Could Have Done Better If I'd Had The Time'. That said, you can always make the case that she's not really Eldyra, but rather what's left of Eldyra after Lileath snatches her soul and deposits it in the Haven. An undead husk of the last princess of Tiranoc, desperately seeking absolution from the one person she trusts to give it to her."
  18. I am with you here 100%. I just don't think it should be that easy to destroy a whole reality though. And in honesty if you remember Storm of Magic it wasn't, but Chaos players complained becuase they only destroyed half of the Empire and that was not enough. (Seriously if you read the WHFRP 2nd Ed the Empire was severely crippled and struggling to stay together. Most of the population was killed and it looked like many different factions were going to take advantage of that.) These events in end times where not an intended part of the story line yet from all fluff leading up to here, they just pushed it throw to make a change in business plan. But back to the point Chaos hates reality and mortals in it and are looking to end the realities they come across.
  19. Some of us complaining are also going to be one of the first to try 9th out. Just becuase some of us are not happy now doesn't mean we will be leaving for good. But there will be a couple of rage quits.
  20. Point, but this is uncharted waters for gaming. A good writer and rules set might be able to pull it off. But this is GW we are talking about. Their company depends on keeping its current players to hold it up, new players will not flock to them and they have a bad rep with almost everyother player from other game systems. Thise who play Warmahordes were GW players that left GW games behind becuase they got tired of GW's crap. (Played Warmahordes for several years and I didn't know any players besides one that still had a desire to play GW games.) I am not sure GW made a smart choice. But I have been wrong before.
  21. Well to address your points for the story Chaos hates reality and is always trying to destroy it. But up till last year there was no build up and no storyline that lead up to this. It was rushed and felt very forced in a lot of places and felt like it was not how they planned to end it at all but business issues with the Chapter House case, dropping sales (which can be relegated to the lack of attention WHFB got over the years.) and other competitors out selling WHFB. But this move was very drastic and is unpresidented for a Miniature game. The only comparison I can think of is when Vampire the Masquerade when the third generation awoke. Who plays VtM now? No one. Also the story had bad writing elements that run against what makes a good story. There should be a challenge that is faced and the swing of power should change hands at least once, but Chaos held on to that power. So even if the story was from the Chaos prospective they had no real challenges so there was no issues to conquer. So it does not fall within the classic Drama formula at all and it sure was not a comedy. Secondly from what I have been hearing several of the key factors that lead to the rift opening were the Hero's attempts to stop Archaon and their sacrifice only made things worse. That's just bad story writing. Not to mention one of the factors was the Grimgore was a latent psyker that no one knew about. Umm... psyker? Not only is tha lame forced reasoning but Psykers are a 40K issue, not a fantasy issue. (Those who can wield magic are a threat but they are not psykers.) Also they tried to tie off love stories for several characters that don't belong in a story like this. I could go on but I haven't read the book myself yet but it just looks like a forced story to justify their business move which is a Huge risk that will behard to pull off. Let's see if they can do it.
  22. Got it. Yeah, there are a couple games I wish I could buy the pieces separate for my own purposes. (As I mentioned these models would make get mini's for a Viking themed RPG. Heck, I almost want to put one together just for these models.)
  23. Well remember that other KickStaters that have models seperate are also models for a miniature wargame, this is a Board Game where you have a set number of models needed to play. So they are not expecting people to buy these for a miniature war game and they expect you to play them using their game with their rules. They're not being unfair, it's just the nature of the game. Think of Chess. You don't need extra pieces unless you lose one. Well this game is the same in terms of there being a set number of models you can use.
  24. Well you know, rumors fly but this is a date and confirmation. I am so Geeked I feel like singing like an Ewo..... ummm, no I don't.
