  1. Sorry about the Rant everyone, just not a good week. Indytims I wasn't referring to the Ordo forums as for my not well received line. (Also I do respect your thoughts and optimism I just happen to be in the other camp. Total respect though.) Aside from Faeit's forum (Which is very Biased ProGW everything) all the forums, battle reports and YouTube reviews have been more negative than positive. The best I heard is when they say it was fun and players should try it with the Caveat, when the community comes up with a point system or comp and this is not meant for large tactical battles like 8th. That's not what you call very positive reviews. The game as it stands has No depth and will go down as another Dreadfleet in GW's history. We as Fantasy Fans Want to like it but depending on what you are looking for and how optimistic you are will determine where you stand at the moment. Who knows, maybe GW will realize they Jumped the Shark and make a 180 to turn this around. Personally I think GW checked out on WHFB and after this weak attempt will go back to focusing on 40K permanently.
  2. I think I am going to put Fantasy in the closet for awhile longer than I thought. I need to sit on this for awhile and see what pans out over the year. I hope GW realizes that their current product is not good and they need to redo the rules some more.
  3. What a bunch of POS they are. We get it that AoS is their new attempt at saving face but why take the FAQ's down immediately? They have to know that AoS is not being receivedvery well. I thought we were going to be able to use our old game if we wanted. And what about all those who Just bought the End Times books. "Hey, thanks for the Cash, now suck it." It turns out End Times was just a big Cash Grab because they are not supporting those books they just released.
  4. And this is exactly why I think the whole Copyright thing is just down right stupid. If you make models that are good, and not just once every 10 years, your player base will buy them. If you have rules for a unit in the rule book and you don't release a model for it you are asking for someone else to do it. End of story the name don't mean anything and if you produce models regularly, they are a model company after all, then your player base will buy Your product and not from the competitors. If you ignore your player base and just expect them to sit there with no new stuff then expect them to leave the game or buy it from somewhere else. Don't throw a fit and try and blame it on "evil" competitors. GW's lack of making all their products opened the market for them. Treat your costumers right and they will buy from you loyally. They just haven't figured that part out yet.
  5. Maybe but I hate the look of the Sigmarines. If the new Races look as bad I am not buying.
  6. It makes them Sound Cool. This whole copyright thing would have never been an issue if GW had given WHFB more attention and didn't wait until its sales fell through the floor. A lot of units didn't even have models, so players had to look at third party miniatures. GW created their own mess to begin with, they have no one to blame but themselves.
  7. Yes I meant 20% of Retail. That is most likely the best most will get right now. Now I am not going to sell all my stuff of course but in the long run if something doesn't turn this 180 degrees around I just don't see it being something I would be interested in. I have been trying to find something I like about it and spent time watching videos of players playing with the new rules and it just doesn't get me excited at all. With every game I played when I saw a new edition come out I was skeptical at first but when the rules came out I was all excited to start getting games in, but here I am Trying to find an excuse to get interested and just can't. It's like trying to date someone who you've known for a long time but you just don't find them attractive or interesting. Why bother?
  8. I feel like Raindog too. Unlike him I have an advantage of already owning a bunch of other games I will fall back on. And "If" I can some how Sell Half of my models at 20% MRSP I can afford to complete my other games with cash to spare. If I sell all my stuff at 20% I will be clearing out a lot of space and could buy a game table top with mats and terrain for my games. I just don't know if I can justify waiting for AoS to be something worth it besides from the hassle of selling my stuff off. That's the sad part, the only thing keeping me interested now is the fact trying to sell WHFB models right now would be a big hassle. It would be like trying to sell a used Yugo in Texas.
  9. But with so many other great games out there why should I spend my time and money on a game that only has "potential"? AoS is more of a skirmish game now and I already own and have played many Skirmish games better designed than this. Krosmaster is a game aimed at the 6-8+ crowd with simple LoS, movement and special abilities rules. It is meant to get kids into gaming. And this is the only game I can think of that compares to AoS. I have played so many different games out there and I can say the more I read the rules and go over scenarios in my head it just fails to impress. I really wanted GW to surprise me but I kept my expectations low because I didn't want to be too disappointed. But the more I run through the rules the more I realize this is worse than my lowest expectations. If I want to play a very simple easy game I already have them. I want WHFB to be the complex game that is larger in scope than all my other games. But now it is the most simple game I own. Zombicide is my Beer and Pretzel game so I don't need AoS to fill that space. So either I stick to 8th or just forget that place that WHFB held, a tactically complex game. I am hoping something happens in the next month that turns this around or I will focus my attention on Malifaux and Infinity more. Also Armada, a simple game with a complex degree of tactics based on special model rules and upgrades, but done right.
  10. They do act like Apple but they do not have the track record like Apple. You can't just ignore your costumer base and expect them to figure out what you want.
  11. I am not disagreeing but GW still f'd up by not even bothering to do any of this. There is no movement rules to differentiate between model types, heck there are really no different model types outside of the large monster types. There is no difference or modifiers to combat really. Just run in and throw dice. The highest roll wins. Where is the tactical depth outside of run forward at all speed and roll dice. You can even shot into combat with no penalty. Yes, the community can do something with this but why didn't GW put any effort into this?
  12. It is totally good. It made me smile as it kind of proved my point that the game as it stands might be good for young new gamers but it just doesn't have any depth and just feels lacking. I would rather play Mordhiem any day over this as it stands even though some of the Warscrolls have an interesting bases for something better. But my Son's Krosmaster Arena has more depth and replayability than AoS. That's not really giving Krosmaster a complement either.
  13. Wow, listened to several reviews and the most positive ones said it was entertaining for a beer and pretzel game but that it wouldn't keep their interest long. The Sustainable Center had a two hour long review that had about 7 players from across the country show up to discuss the game and it was not up lifting. Everyone tried to be some what positive and point out the good parts but all of them didn't seeing this last and Mr Malorian sees it as a way to transition WHFB players over to 40K. Mr M of course also wants to see the version completely fail so GW falls back to something like 8th. The one thing that was interesting was they didn't have an issue so much with a skirmish style game but the fact that all of them felt GW totally checked out on making a complete rules set and basically said the gaming community can figure out the balance and add more interesting stuff, we're done. A good listen and they had a very excellent discussion but the one thing they all agree is that the Game in its current form will fail. It will not keep the gamers attention for long.
  14. LOL. I was trying to be outrageous and silly but I guess with these rules it is hard to tell.
  15. I got it guys, instead of dice we can just use our imagination for how wounds are dealt. It works for kids playing with Legos.
  16. Well I already owned a Dark Angle force that was very sad until the new Codex came out, just about the time of AoS. Hmmmm...... Nah.
  17. Had a thought. All of you that have helped with the OFCC list review imagine doing that before every game you play without points.
  18. Zombicide is a good Beer and Pretzel game. Warhammer with no point system and a line that says you and your opponent have to agree on, let's see, Army Size and Anything that might come up where the Rules fall short. (Look at the last paragraph of the rules.) We have a hard time agreeing when we have well defined tight rule books in front of us. LOL! Think of what Tournament Organizers have to go through to get players to have a Fun event with list building rules and clarifications on undefined rules. Times that by ten for every game.
  19. Are you 100% sure they are not going to sometime in the future? 40k is doing well this year but what happens if they have a few bad years? You ready for that?
  20. Am I the only one that feels like "this can not be it?" when they read through rules and looked at GW's website. I was even on the downer side before looking at all the rumors and talking about my concerns, but this is even more less than what I was expecting. I read the rules last night and tried to get my head around it and I saw some potential but as I read further there is just so much missing that leaves very large gaps. This just has to be the Mini Rules Set before a bigger book comes out. This can not be it.
  21. Fair enough, I just don't see it working for long on any level if it stays as it is.
  22. I will play it and watch the scene for what is happening. Will I stick with it? That should have been a choice.
  23. Thanks for the insight guys. I will say I have been leaning towards a mixed DW/RW army but realized neither of the Strike Forces have an objective secure rule. Haven't played in a really long time and was wondering how much of a handicap is that?
  24. Oh Dear God! I've just seen the pure genius of GW's plan and it is evil.
