  1. Mawlocs without Lictor spam are very unreliable. Very. I have played roughly 1 million (don't fact check me) games with them. Take for granted. They can't burrow turn one. So deep strike them right. So turn two with a 3+. In a perfect world you get them turn two. They do absolutely nothing besides that deepstrike rule. So burrow turn 3 right? Come back turn 4. So you have used it twice so far. Should you burrow them turn 5? Do tourney games last until turn 5? 140 points? For 2 burrow attacks that hit on scatter dice 1/3 of the time. Hmm. Might spend the points elsewhere if not spamming.
  2. Mawloc has to hope for a turn 2 3+ reserve roll before it can do any damage. Then it also has to hope for the No scatter, which never happens. If it misses (which it will) the bikers get to move away do about 3 wounds on it and still get there cover while being out of range of assault. Remember you can no longer burrow on turn one with them. Regarding Psychic Shrek (ha), They work wonders on Grey knights and seer council being that they are all psykers meaning it lowers leadership by 3 however all other units will be using their base leadership. So the good units that you really want to hit with it, Termies are going to have LD 9 or 10. Meaning, the most wounds you'll do is 6 to 5 (with the 2d6 +2), counting the enemy rolls the horrible boxcars. Don't get me wrong if everything works just right it can be great. But the questions is whether or not you want to waste your Zoe's warp charges of the very needed Warp Lance on a nova that if fails will leave the Zoe's dead next turn? Take into account (and I hate saying statistically) But statistically you won't do enough damage to the units around you to prevent them from dying.
  3. If Corey's 3 titan list gets approved.....I'll....I'll...well I won't do anything about it but I sure as hell wont like it.
  4. Damn Jim that's a huge ass dinner.
  5. Guys. Obviously One Eye sucks. Maybe the worst unit in the Codex. I was joking to lighten the inevitable onslaught (like what I did there?) of argument that would soon follow. It obviously landed about as well as Harrison Ford on a PGA Tour. With that said, I think there is an overall Nid consensus that the Army doesn't pack the same punch as other (alledgely) GW Fanboy armies. However it always seems that when you leave the Nid community there are these weird Non-Nid playing Generals who believe that the Codex itself if OP Broken. I always hear arguments starting with, "Well this Nid Player I knew did this." I am not sure where this Unicorn/Bigfoot breed of players are as I have yet to see any of these players. Personally I have been playing only Nids for years now and I have gotten pretty schnazzy with them, but there are just a few armies that I have been able to build a TAC(take all comers) list with: Orks Necrons (but maybe changing as of late) and Nids Nids are much like using a box of surgical tools to change a tire. Sure the scalpel can take the rubber off but that's about as far as you go. With every other army using vehicles this is the number one issue they have to overcome. How do you blow the vehicle up ASAP. The second issue and piggybacking off the first, is they have to last at least 2 rounds of shooting to get through before they do damage. Using this logic and not being able to refute (because I said so) leaves a nid player with one solid option. Deep Strike. Because the Pods came back the Nids have a fighting chance. Are they overcosted? Yup. Are MC's overcosted? Yup. With this deepstriking method, will you lose the Tactical Objective game? Yup (probably), But the good news is when you're at the bottom there is no where to go but up. The secret I have learned is to deepstrike with a vendetta (no not the AM flier) and it doesn't really matter which units Deepstrike so long as then can do enough damage upon entry to weaken the enemy fire power. The more you can do that turn then every turn thereafter increases your survivability exponentially. There are however armies that when it comes to winning in this method are still about as hard as my grandpa in a Viagra factory. Eldar Tau Dark Eldar Guard (sometimes) Just some food for thought or 2 cents or whatever.
  6. I won't be coming down. I am having dinner with one of my professor's. He said I am really going to enjoy the main course. Hmmm. I hope so, I am famished. But not really. Planning for a Bachelor Party. Man casting strippers is hard work.
  7. I think that the Old One Eye is often one of the most overlooked models in the codex. Arguably one of the best as well. For what he gives you for the price, it's hard not to bring him along. 4W is solidly decent for an HQ. Yeah so he doesn't have any shooting but is moderately semi-solid in CC. Not to mention the Alpha Warrior rule. How can you beat using LD8 for units within 12" rather than their LD6?
  8. Shhhh. Loren, I think it's still a sensitive issue.
  9. Awe Eli, too sweet. Warning Don't join a frat. You know those Montana Frat boys. Congrats on the High School completion.
  10. Doing some searching it seems like this game is still in its infancy. Not to mention the website is atrocious.
  11. So I have minor interest in saga....very minor mind you, and I am looking at some direction as to where in the hell I can find the saga cards to look over. That is the Army cards. If anyone knows, and I know someone does, please point me in the right direction.
  12. Sherbert I will be showing up late as well. I wouldn't mind playing you one final time, see if I like the game. However if you would rather play a far more experienced player than myself, tote magotes understand.
  13. I personally wouldn't buy they books (aside from codex) without playing a couple of test games. Don't rush it. I have been playing nids for many years, and many editions and I only play nids. However I will let you know that if you haven't played them yet that they are the "water" to your power armor "fire". It is going to be tough. Just try out some ideas, field them and if you like the sweet pain of constant defeat then you have found your army. Hope this helps.
  14. Hell yeah go for General Manager huh?!
  15. Nice so the little leader in the pods right?
  16. Duncan, contrary to popular belief a Card Board refrigerator box is not a car. Take that self esteem boost....you get back in your place.
  17. Ha, if its a bug Apoc you need then count me in. Time depending of course.
  18. Yeah I would love to come up to Canada but of course the date is killer. Just one weekend later? Man July 4th is rough.
  19. What the #@$!. .....Yeah that makes sense. Cool thanks.
