  1. I think the question is, if you did not charge and have with models within 1" which activates the fight phase, and you fight again with a strategem or ability which activates the fight phase a 2nd time, then on the 2nd fight you can target models that you piled in/consolidated into that you were not within 1" for the first fight. And yes you can. It's on the charge that you are restricted to what units you are able to target for the turn.
  2. I acknowledge the failure to establish a cut off. I would like to be responsive rather than arbitrary.
  3. Alrighty.. I have completed all the pre-pay packets for the 10 people who pre-paid, your packet will be available at whatever table/space/pacing area I end up occupying when everyone comes in. Currently working on the registration packets for the people who pre-registered. If you haven't pre-paid by now, now would be a good time before I go to sleep.
  4. Well, there is a right way of doing things like this, and the wrong way. What's going on here is the wrong way. The right way of doing this is to have a player's meeting prior to the first round, when all the player's are available and have a say, have a consensus vote, make sure all player's are aware of the rule and inspect players that have lists affected by the rule to ensure they have the ruleset on-hand, either hard-copy or electronically.
  5. There exists a point where you just shut up and hand over your credit card. I'm married with children so I am well used to it.
  6. That included the player packets. and they actually gave me a bulk deal.
  7. My personal measure of success will be getting 28+ players. If I can just get that, I will be satisfied.
  8. You have adequately pointed out a failure on my part, to wit, specifically pointing out a cut off date for the event. The fact of the matter is, the world has changed and I appreciate the rather extreme levels of responsiveness currently observable from Games Workshop and would prefer to not limit players from bringing their experiences and pleasure in the game to an event that I wish to run. But there has to be an acceptable standard and I am drawing that line at the GW FAQ/Errata webpage. Bear in mind, if the webpage gets updated prior to 10AM tomorrow and I can view the changes on the devices I am bringing tomorrow then I am fine with it. I just expended 80$ in printing to ensure that I have, on-site, every single document on that webpage. So if it's not in my binder by 1001 tomorrow morning it won't be in play. Actually, don't quote me on that, because I printed out both the bolter discipline and the forgeworld custodes rulesets for my binder to have on hand.
  9. I believe there is an assumption which is incorrect. Sisters of Battle have rulesets, multiple ones, contained in both indexes and chapter approved. I think you are getting fixated on the term Beta which I don't think has an application to the original query, as there is only two items that I am aware of currently in beta status. The Bolter Discipline is a proposed standalone rule across multiple codexes and indexes and hasn't yet been added by GW to the official up-to-date errata for those living documents. Whatever my personal feelings are regarding the appropriateness of the proposed rule, the fact that the living documents have not been amended makes the decision to not include them appropriate. In addition the ruleset for the Adeptus Custodes forgeworld models specifically states: "The datasheets presented here are in a beta format. As with all our beta rules, we would like to invite you, the players, to use them in your games and provide us with your feedback. What worked well? What could be improved? What points values should be changed (and to what)? Please get in touch with us at 40kfaq@gwplc.com and let us know (please make the subject of your e-mail ‘Beta Adeptus Custodes feedback’). This feedback will then help to inform the final rules for these units in a future publication. Whilst these beta rules have been designed to be used in all types of games, including matched play games, if you intend to use them at organised events then it is ultimately up to the event organiser as to whether these rules will be allowed or not (as is the case with all our beta rules)." The fact that the designers have not yet quantified a final balanced point value for these forgeworld models and have not amended the existing parent living documents makes, objectively, the decision to not include them appropriate.
  10. I am more objectively concerned with the GW webpage statement: Specifically: "Looking for the latest updates to your codex or battletome? Got a question about how something in your army works? Each of these FAQs contains all of the most up-to-date errata and answers you’ll need to make sure that your games run as smoothly as possible, incorporating feedback from you guys and gals out there in the Warhammer community, the playtesters and of course, our studio design team." Since neither the Bolter Discipline nor the Adeptus Custodes proposed rulesets are contained on this page I am uncomfortable including them. I apologize if this causes confusion or consternation.
  11. The rule set in question is contained here: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/warhammer_40000_the_big_faq_2_en-2.pdf and is on the official Errata web page and will therefore be in play.
  12. I have reconducted a review of the following: The requirement to upload army lists is not feasible for Guardian Cup 2019. There will be WiFi available, however I will only have 1 device available for players to register if they have not registered and those players will have priority. Games will be standard games with 2:30 minute rounds and a 30 minute TO Discretion/break between each game There will be some Enclosed Ruins on the tables so review the Enclosed Ruins rules below. There will be pizza available on Sat during the lunch break, I have ordered pepperoni and Hawaiian, as well as some donuts on Sun. 13. The ruleset for Adeptus Custodes play will include the following official update 1.0: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/warhammer_40000_adeptus_custodes_en.pdf As the beta rules in question here: https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Forgeworld_Custodes_Datasheets-1.pdf As well as the Bolter Discipline Beta here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/01/21/21st-jan-introducing-better-beta-boltersgw-homepage-post-4/ are not included and do not contain the term Official Update they will not be in play for this event.
  14. We currently have 17 players registered for Guardian Cup 2019 through Best Coast Pairings at the following web page: https://www.bestcoastpairings.com/eventlanding/eqe2cppp?embed=false I am tracking 10 players who have conducted a pre-pay transaction The pre-pay tickets through the OF Store as well as conducting ticket sales onsite during the event is my personal responsibility. I will be bringing pre-pay player packets including receipts to the event and be responsible to the Ordo Fanaticus fiduciary for accounting of the pre-pay funds. Registration on the Best Coast Pairings event page before the event is the player responsibility, and I will have available a device or devices at the registration table for players to conduct registration at the event in the event that a player is unable to register prior to the event. If you have questions or concerns contact me via email/pm or txt/vox 503-957-7906 Peter Cosgrove Tournament Organizer Guardian Cup 2019
  15. Guardian Cup will have room for about 42 people if we have 3 under 21 players show up. For example. There will also be 1-2 tables overflow available in Critical Sip IF we have more than 36 players show up.
  16. https://www.bestcoastpairings.com/eventlanding/eqe2cppp?embed=false 14 people have registered, I am not seeing a Thomas Dill on the BCP app. 9 people have pre-paid.
  17. There will be a limited amount of overflow and under 21 tables, limited is the key word.
  18. Current expected expenses: 300$ Rental 310$ Prize Package (Based on 28+ Players) 40$ Printing 30$ Sat Pizza 20$ Sun Donuts 8$ Favorite Opponent Pins
  19. It looks like, according to GW, the pre-orders are going to drop on or around Feb 8, and the codex will drop actual on or around Feb 16. As long as the GW product codex and datasheets are readily available and viewable on-site, either electronically or hardcopy, and the models are WYSIWYG with 3 paints and basing then yes. I don't see any reason to not allow them.
  20. Alrighty. Flyers have been posted Facebook entries have been made at Ordo Fanaticus, Guardian Games, and NW Wargamers. Tournament is posted at DakkaDakka Event Parking is coordinated Prize Package plan is complete. Refined Paint/Sportsmanship to bring equalization. Tasks left to do. Develop occupation and registration flow plan, current coordination includes a 0900 hit time on Sat for set-up, an hour to complete set-up means crunch time before the 1000 doors open. need to backwards plan manpower requirements and tasking. Develop terrain quality plan, current intent is to requisition additional terrain from OF supply Finalize and post on-site payment plan Develop meal plan, current intent is for a Sat Pizza Party, and Sun Donuts. Develop Paint Judge plan, current intent is to adopt a pre-existing SOP and bring in an experienced paint judge to conduct the paint judging. Please, if you have suggestions to improve let me know, sooner is always better, this is still new boots for me.
  21. No. The term is from golf. Just means players start play without a pre-match table ladder. Although I do have to assign players that are under 21 to specific tables on the first floor.
  22. I have received the submission token from FLG. Continuing to improve other areas. Things left to be done. Continue to improve web presence. Player Packet
  23. The BCP registration is "buy ticket" and the ticket is 0.00$, The pre-pay is through the OF store.
