  1. That's awesome Shawn. I hope everything goes well with the delivery. I'll be at DT tomorrow night at the usual time with my Mordheim stuff if anyone wants to get a game in. I'll be looking to play the Woodland Sprite scenario, which looks like a lot of rng fun. On the other hand, if no one wants to play Mordheim, I'll have the board/deck building game Legendary with me as well to play if people are interested. I got it for Christmas and am looking forward to playing it again since it's been a long while since I've played it. Hope to see folks there.
  2. You could also model a grot up in a tree, looking very angry, and label the base "I AM GROT!"
  3. <Duel of Fates music playing> Gregor the Beggar peeked out from behind the wall that he'd been hiding behind for what seemed like forever. The fight was truly in full force now. Pit fighters with spears, tridents, and other exotic weaponry clashed with dwarven steel. Bodies were everywhere. The Dwarves seemed to be getting the better end of the combat but they had still taken loses. Two huge ogres were both on the ground unconscious and bleeding. Through the gloom Gregor spotted him. Another Sylvanian wretch like himself. Destitute and poor, he had likely been hired on a guide as Gregor had been with the promise of gold and freedom from the sordid life he'd been forced into. To Gregor's horror, the other Sylvanian had spotted him as well. With hatred in his eyes the beggar charged Gregor. Gregor was no hero, nor was he brave. He ducked the Sylvanian's first swing, using the wall as a barrier between them. Not knowing where his foe was, Gregor swung blindly, arcing his club sideways over the lip of the wall. His club connected with something. Disbelief and exhilaration surged through him all at once. HE'D HIT SOMETHING! Peering carefully over the wall Gregor saw the other wretch lying face-down in the mud, moaning loudly. Now was his chance, Gregor thought. Now was when he could prove to his Dwarven employers that he was the most valuable guide in Sylvania. Before his foe could recover, Gregor skulked around the wall and delivered a swift thump with his club to the other Sylvanian's skull. His opponent went limp and didn't stir. "Phew", said Gregor to himself, "I'm glad that's over." Seeing other combatants closing in Gregor quickly resumed his position behind the wall, hoping the more fearsome pit fighters didn't find him.
  4. Kevin and I got in the Necromancer Tower scenario last night. It was fun with the Dwarves emerging victorious. And boy were they angry. I forget how many wound criticals I rolled but it was more than a few. Kevin eventually just started asking me how many sixes I'd rolled to wound. I felt quite bad towards the end. There were some funny moments though. The first blast from the tower scattered onto my dwarf engineer and my two thunderers. One thunderer was knocked down while the other was stunned. The stunned fella did not have a fun game. Being the furthest model away from the tower, every turn he got a lightning bolt shot at him. The resulting rolls had him either knocked down or stunned for the first half of the game, until the enchantment started losing it's aim, potency, or both. Kevin's warlord, Spartakreiger, charged my ogre at one point in the battle and knocked poor Grump's brains out with his flail in one round of combat. Also, you're welcome everyone, since with the experience from this game Spartakreiger gained the skill that allows him to keep the momentum of his flail going after the first round of combat and is therefore Str 6 all the time with 4 attacks. A final highlight was that Kevin and I decided that running up and getting into base to base with the tower for the extra experience was like Nemo swimming up and touching "The Butt". Quite the funny realization. Also, our beggars went clubbing together (hehe) during the fight and I'll post a detailed description of the combat further down.
  5. I'll be around tonight for Jim and any others who still need to get through their fourth game. Be there by 6 as usual.
  6. Just wondering if we are slotted to get a couple new scenarios for the Mordheim month of December tomorrow or if that will happen next week?
  7. Yeah my warband rating was 163 and Nathan's was in the high 80s. He did get the Underdog bonus at the end so everyone in his warband got 2 exp instead of 1 for surviving. His first serious injury roll for a henchman was a 2 so he died. His next roll for his second henchman was a 1 =(.
  8. Nathan and my game was quite bloody as both of our dwarf warbands fought hard against the frenzied zombies piling out of the farmstead buildings. We each were able to quickly secure and loot one building a piece after dispatching some walking dead. A hard fought struggle ensued for the remaining central building. My leader, ogre, and beggar all went out of action by the end with Nathan being left with only his leader and two troll slayers. Nathan's force fought well and hard considering I had the far larger warband rating (almost double). In the end, Nathan voluntarily routed leaving the Drakeslayers in possession of the final building and the farmstead. My ogre and beggar escaped unscathed, but my leader took an arm wound which resulted in him having to take some time to recover and miss the next game. Nathan rolled as well as I did using only 3 exploration dice to my 5. After finding a well, Hrothgar, my most recently upgraded henchman, inspected it and was met with a swarm of leeches resulting in his toughness decreasing by 1. The big killer was that Nathan lost four out of the eight members of his warband even with the changes to death rolls following a casualty in the warband. A lot of my warband leveled up with my dwarves receiving some strength increases due to pumping that wyrdstone iron. Looking forward to next month's scenarios.
  9. I will be around as well by 6. I've done the Banshee mission for the month so if anyone would prefer to deal with mobs of frenzied zombies (second mission this month) then I will happily play you. Let the good times (and zombie heads) roll!
  10. Yeah what Kevin said. We'll try to pick up games in the coming weeks for the Zombie Mob scenario. Safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  11. Second campaign mission of the month smartypants 😤
  12. I'll be down for the second campaign mission this evening
  13. @Munkie That's a nice gesture and I salute you with a toast of the finest Bugman's Ale. Who knows what the Banshee would have done, if she would have finally killed off your ogre or wailed at a few more of your pit fighters. It's hard to say. Still a fun time and don't worry about the grudge. One of my Troll Slayers still has it in for @Sherbert and his witch hunting sycophants. Now where have those pasty faced humans got to....
  14. I believe that someone drugged my Engineer and Slayer's ale and caused them to have an absurd hangover. They didn't know which way the battlefield was. The tunnels was a big advantage for Kevin, but boy was the banshee gal angry. She screamed bloody murder at two dwarves in two turns and murdernated them both. I would also like to point out that Kevin's warband loves tunnels, because he found some catacombs laced with tunnels during his exploration phase and so he has them for his next game as well. Echoing Kevin's point, our Rare items rolls were garbage. I don't think either of us rolled higher than a 9 on 2D6 at any point and we both had at least 5 rolls that we could make. You might say I felt robbed <meme siren sounds>
  15. I know you're fielding models that you have, but another star in the new codex to heavily consider imo is the Grot "driven" Tractor cannon. This thing is insane. For 65 points (I believe) you get a T5 6 wound gun WHICH HITS AUTOMATICALLY. It fires a S8 AP-2 D6 dmg shot. In addition, it has the melta rule for flyers where it rolls 2D6, picking the highest, for dmg. I've seen this gun used in several online batreps and it wrecks shop. Just a suggestion if you want to add some punchy, anti-air Krumptaskikness.
  16. Yeah this was the case in Jim and my game last week, where he rolled multiple multiples and took both events. No worries Jim, we'll know for next time when next our warbands clash.
  17. Nice it looks like we'll be able to catch a few more people up tonight before the next round starts.
  18. I'll be down with my Mordheim stuff tonight at the normal time. I don't know if Jake will be down for his second game tonight. We can have our warbands duke it out to determine who gets to play him muahahaha.
  19. I'll have a look when I get home today Kevin. I may be able to help you out and give the base to you tonight.
  20. I'll be around for Mordheim tomorrow night to help out with make-up games. However, if I am not needed to assist with the "making of the up" then I will join you for a delightful time of the Curios of the Dark.
  21. I'll be around as well tomorrow to help folks catch up if they didn't get a game in last week. I had fun being "the catch up" guy with TNT and would be happy to reprise my role with Mordheim. As for Shawn's previous post about our game last week, I have never seen two warbands more unable to harm each other. The rolling was atrocious. I realized very quickly that shooting in Mordheim is not the best with all the modifiers tacked on so I'm very glad I didn't go with a Thunderer heavy build to start with. The highlight of the game for me was my Dwarf noble, facing down three of Shawn's Kislevites, parrying the first two attackers with back to back 6s and then proceeding to decapitate the third fellow who was wielding a 2h weapon. An epic moment, much to Shawn's consternation. Another high point was that for his free advance one of my Troll Slayers reached Toughness 5, and after the battle my Dwarf Engineer advanced to T5 as well. Thanks game!
  22. I know folks are finishing up the Infinity League this week, but if anyone's available I would appreciate a demo game tomorrow night (10/2) in preparation for the campaign kick off next week. Also, a warband creation question. Is there any inherent advantage/disadvantage to buying your warrior equivalents in large groups instead of buying a lot of single groups of warriors? I bring this up for upgrade purposes, since while reading the rules, all models in the same group obtain the same upgrade when the group ranks up. For example, dwarf warriors can be bought in batches of 1-5. Is there a "magic number" for group sizes of warrior equivalents or not to benefit the most from upgrades later on? Thanks guys!
  23. I think we need to have another vote to determine whether the original vote should be public or private. That sounds about the right amount of American.
  24. Yeah I spotted that while I was editing and thought that it was too funny that I'd written that and just left it in
