  1. I haven't delved too far into this yet, but I was hoping for some feed back on my two lists. I haven't decided on any artefacts or army traits yet. If anyone has any suggestions on those let me know! 1020 pt: Lord Celestant on Dracoth - 220, Leader (General) Lord Relictor - 80, Leader Knight-Venator - 120, Leader 5 x Liberators - 100, Battleline 5 x Liberators - 100, Battleline 3 x Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers - 100 5 x Retributors - 220 Thunderhead Brotherhood - 80, Battalion This is a pretty basic force that I've mainly chosen because its relatively easy to achieve (I have almost all the models). I like Judicators quite a bit, but decided the mobility of the Thunderhead Brotherhood to be more important and I make up for the loss of range with the Venator which I have a soft spot for. 30" range is hard to pass up haha. 2500 pt: Lord-Celestant on Dracoth - 220, Leader (General) Lord-Relictor - 80, Leader Lord-Castellant - 100, Leader Knight-Venator - 120, Leader Knight-Vexillor - 200, Leader (Pennant of the Stormbringer) Knight-Vexillor - 200, Leader (Pennant of the Stormbringer) 5 x Liberators - 100, Battleline 5 x Liberators - 100, Battleline 5 x Liberators - 100, Battleline 5 x Judicators - 160, Battleline 5 x Judicators - 160, Battleline 5 x Protectors or Decimators - 200 5 x Retributors - 220 5 x Retributors - 220 6 x Prosecutors with Celestial Hammers - 200 Hammerstrike Force - 120, Battalion The idea here is to have a solid standard battleline of Liberators with Judicators supporting, with the Lord-Celestant riding up the center. The Relictor and Castellant protect the general (to keep his command ability alive) while the Knight-Venator lends his superior firepower to the Judicators. The second part of the army is the Vexillors, Prosecutors and paladins which form a highly mobile deep strike killing machine. With the Hammer Strike force the Prosecutors can get the Retributors where they need to be very fast (with a to wound bonus as well). Their numbers are bolstered to make sure they get where I want them before dying. The Vexillors can serve multiple purposes. First, to get the Protectors (or Decimators, they are the same cost so they are interchangable) into ideal combats easily. Second, to possibly just deep strike the Prosecutors which can subsequently deep strike the Retributors in the same turn. Or alternatively, after the Retributors have landed, transfer them to another part of the battlefield once they have done their job. Thoughts? Would love any feedback.
  2. Yeah they were a lot of fun to use! Hope to see you around there KlawKnee. I am not sure about this coming weekend, but they are doing a summer campaign event on the 17th and I am definitely planning on being there for that!
  3. Yesterday I went to M.O.B. games in Lake Stevens Wa (the group here is extremely great and play every Sunday afternoon!) and used my starter set Stormcast and added on three heroes from the Silver Tower game: The Knight-Questor, Mistweaver Siah, and Tenebrael Shard. I played against a Fyreslayer army: 2 x 10 Vulkite Berzerkers 1 x 5 Auric Hearthguard Auric Runefather on Magmadroth Auric Runemaster Auric Runesmiter Auric Runeson with Javelin Battlesmith Game ended up turning into mostly a hero duel as I annihilated his Berzerkers pretty early (only after they nearly killed my Lord-Celestant) and his Auric Hearthguard led by the Battlesmith tunneled up behind one of my Liberator units in the second turn and tied them up for the rest of the game. It was a very even game and it all came down to the final fight between my nearly killed Retributors & Knight-Questor and the Runefather. My Retributors smashed the Runefather good and luckily saved all his blows against them while the Knight-Questor dealt the final two wounds. If they hadn't killed him that turn I would have had no answer save for lucky magic. It was a great game and it gave me a chance to try out the Silver Tower heroes I have in a regular game of AoS. Here are my impressions: Tenebrael Shard: I got extremely unlucky with his Shadowstrike ability. It only went off 1 out of 4 hero phases. Without it, he is basically nothing special. And when it did go off, he missed with every single one of his attacks. His attacks are definitely nasty though, once he got some hits in he sliced through the Auric Runemaster pretty quick. Never had to make any save rolls and he only killed the Runemaster right at the end of the game so his incredible speed ability didn't come into play. Ultimately I don't think I got to see all he can do, but I did learn this: if Shadowstrike doesn't go off he is nothing special. I definitely want to run him again and see if I get better results. Mistweaver Siah: Her illusory assault can be extremely deadly! Her shining moment is when she killed 4 Vulkite Berzerkers that had surrounded the Lord-Celestant and were pounding him into dust. Sadly she did nothing but add a mystic shield for the rest of the game as her Illusory Assault failed to wound the Runefather near the end (rolled a 4 with three dice =p versus his bravery of 8). Her movement of 8" is very nice for keeping her away from the fray, but ultimately she seems like a cool, but standard wizard in terms of gameplay. Nothing amazing. Knight-Questor: I'm probably going to have to give him a name after his showing in this game. Him, along with his bodyguard of 3 Retributors, were definitely the MVPs of this game. He and the Retributors charged one of the groups of Vulkite Berzerkers and while the Retributors smashed the Berzerker's faces into oblivion, he used his 6" pile-in to move around them to the Runesmiter and managed to skewer him in two rounds of combat. Then they charged the wounded Runefather and the Questor dealt the killing blow easily. He never got a single wound on him thanks to his 3+ rerollable save. On paper he doesn't seem like anything special, but he definitely performed well in this game. Maybe the fact that he doesn't seem like much of a threat is what makes him good. I imagine finding a way to throw more buffs on him will make him even more potent and running him with the Retributors definitely seemed like a good 1-2 punch, Going to be running him again. Overall it was a fun game and I learned a lot. Anybody else have experience with the Silver Tower heroes in a game of AoS? Thoughts? I snapped some quick pics of the game. Probably didn't capture all the most important moments and sorry for blurriness, trying to take fast pics is not the best haha Stormcast Deployed (Tenebrael is hiding in some woods) The Vulkite Berzerkers got an early charge off and nearly killed the Lord-Celestant in a single round of combat. The Retributors moved up and smashed the last of the Berzerkers, breaking the Fyreslayer lines, but the game was far from over! (Questor front and center, Shard on right killing Runemaster) Had the Retributors and Questor not been successful in this final duel, I had no good answer for the Runefather and the Fyreslayers would have probably won.
  4. Yeah, I believe it just went live for pre-orders yesterday I think? Could be wrong.
  5. Once we have everything in our hands it will be more clear. It's tough from leaks and photo copies
  6. I think the "reserves" rule entails all abilities summoning or otherwise that bring NEW models onto the board. They are still considered "reserves". The abilities which bring slain models back are not considered reserves and therefore not subject the the rules. So, yes, in this case they need to be paid for if they are indeed setting up new models.
  7. Congo lines can still happen, just won't be as easy/effective. You could manuever models to get closer to their closest model, but in doing change which model is closest. So like you pile in to model A, but your pile in makes model B closer for your next pile in move. Piling in just became tactical!
  8. Yeah! I might try and grab them all when they release a complete set or something. Haven't splurged on any of these yet. Can't wait to hear what happens!
  9. Preview video of the new Sylvaneth battletome: https://www.facebook.com/GWWarhammerAgeofSigmar/videos/491709634359168/
  10. Don't think its until Feb 2017
  11. Just read the story on the app. It really sounds like a winner to me! It seems like they have really thought this out well and I'm really anxious to hear more details, such as how they are going to calculate results and what the possible outcomes are. It's also cool that you can play your games everywhere and just report your results, great idea. Has anyone else read the story? What do you think?
  12. From Facebook: "Just in: more details on the upcoming Season of War campaign. We've already seen that we'll be fighting over three cities, the Seeds of Hope, and that the campaign will be set in part of the freshly cartographed Realm of Life. Well now you can read the full back story and setting of the war in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar app right now, for free. Go and do that now. We can wait… http://www.blacklibrary.com/…/a…/warhammer-aos-the-app.html… …How cool was is that? We know, right? We can also reveal today that you can report your campaign game results in any Warhammer or Games Workshop store, or ask at your local gaming store to find if they are one of over 1,000 participating locations. Not long now until the 14th. Is your army ready? Find your nearest store here: https://www.games-workshop.com/Store-Finder/…"
  13. Sadly I don't think there is a single Amtrak line that runs through Las Vegas, could be wrong though. There is also the bus! haha Seriously though, I am considering going to this event (I would have to convince my wife too haha). It looks amazing and it sounds extremely fun, the set up for the AoS event is definitely in the spirit of AoS.
  14. That doesn't include the FAQs for each alliance haha
  15. I do wish they would post something about Silver Tower unit point values. I bet they do it silently, like they did with the warscrolls, when the points are released in the new app update.
  16. From the Facebook page: "There is a lot of very cool stuff on the way tomorrow guys. Brace yourselves. Check out the website tomorrow morning as dawn breaks on a new era of war in the Mortal Realms:"
  17. It is cool how they are going about this, but I must admit, until I have the book my head is just kind of spinning with all the variations. Tough to keep straight what can be used in what kind of play and what's just new cool stuff they are adding.
  18. Is that something they are planning?
  19. Completely agree. The movements of AoS have a ton of tactic and you really have to be careful (especially based on this FAQ) about being too reckless in your charges and pile-ins. The skirmish unit style adds a lot of depth to the movement, let alone the shape of the unit itself.
  20. Awww right. That makes sense. It might get confusing keeping everything straight with the whole three ways to play thing
  21. I want this stinking book in my hands already! They've titillated us for long enough.
  22. Just read through it. Some things I liked and noted: They clarified reforming after a unit loses coherency due to causalities, basically the next move must result in coherency being restored. They don't consider hills to be cover. That makes sense to me. I really appreciated the clarification on climbing walls over multiple turns and the ability of units to "run" up walls. Flying units don't have to worry about vertical distances ever. Something I've seen different people take different ways. Final word on pivoting! No part of the model can move further than the move characteristic. I think most people followed this, but its good to see "no free pivoting" in writing. Glad for the clarifications on the Charge phase and piling in. Don't have to charge even if there is a unit you end up being able to charge into and piling in cannot break coherency. Love it. Really glad for the clarification on the 6" pile in moves. You still must be within 3" in order to pile in, the 6" pile in just allows for a little more flexibility in how you position them. Kind of scary that if a unit loses coherency due to casualties and they can't restore it in the pile in move, no model can pile in. Choose you casualties carefully! haha Final word on Warmachines and crew: they are separate units. Hadn't ever thought about the short units being unable to attack the flying units if the weapon range isn't there! Turns out they can't! haha Mystic Shields (and all spells) stack apparently. For whatever reason I thought they decided to say no to that. It was also good to hear that a unit can only be a part of a single battalion war scroll at a time. Everyone will read it for themselves, but these were the ones that stood out to me. Overall I think this rules FAQ is a good one and quite thorough with addressing most questions I've noticed arise.
