  5. For the record I have play about 20-25 games of 8th across AM, BA, and Primaris Sallys. Never once have I ran into an issue as you are describing. (Not saying it’s invalid but rather rare). Most assault units you are either transporting or deep striking with. If your walking then across the board your doing it wrong.
  6. 6 pieces of terrain is pretty standard. And no where is rules does it say it has to be impassible. It’s just ruins. also fail to see how having LoS blockage would be bad for an assault army. As someone who is running a gun line, I would love nothing more than an open field lol.
  7. Oh no! I’m just using what ITC uses. Ofcourse I want you in league lol. The ruins rules are an attempt to block LOS for armies. Helps make not getting turn 1 less of a blow. I understand your not in favor of it, but it is was is liked by most other players. But please don’t take that as not wanting you in league!!

  14. HaPPy's Winter Warzone!!!!) Welcome fellow wargamers! There has been a distant rumbling here at Ordo... whispers of a winter league coming. Well its finally upon us! Dust off those 40k armies, for the horn of battle is ringing out over the blood soaked snow dunes! Get ready for something new from us at Ordo! This league aims to provide a fun and causal environment to enjoy your plastic addiction. League will have 16 open slots so hurry and sign up! League Start date is 1/14/18!!!! League fee will be $10 which all of will go towards prizes. It does not include game night fees (if games are played at WOW). You are encouraged to play your games at WOW but not required. Format 4 “pods” of 4 players randomly pooled together Each pod plays 3 games, one game against each other pod member. The pod has a set amount of time to complete their games (3 weeks) This allows some flexibility in people’s schedule. Pods could say “let’s get together and bang out all our games in one day” or fit them in when they can Should an issue come up with a player not responding or dropping out, those players that still need a game against that said person will get auto wins Pods are then shuffled, with goal in mind that each cycle you are playing brand new people This cycle repeats 2 more times, for a total of 4 cycles. The overall winners will be based on the amount of tokens acquired (more on that in a bit) There can be secondary prizes for sportsmanship, best displayed army (judged on day of final match) and best loser, all voted on by the entire league. The Token System After you complete your first match, players will be awarded “Tactical Brilliance Tokens”. The 4 teams at the end of the league with most tokens will enter the playoffs. The 2 winning teams from those matches will compete in a championship match. A separate token system will be in place for that match. These tokens however can be spent throughout the league in different ways. Examples being such things as being able to choose the mission, forcing your opponent to deploy all their army first, choosing secondary bonus objective, spending a token to change your army list mid cycle, and even counter an opponent’s token. These are still being play tested but these are examples. Amount won for a win and for a loss are still being play tested. As of now it appears it will be 3 for a win, 1 for a loss. There also a bonus objective table that is rolled on to determine what that objective is. Should a team accomplish this objective they will earn a bonus token. This system will be fleshed out in time for league start, we are play testing the objectives still. BTW, we have actual physical tokens to handout! Thanks Jeffery! Army Build Rules: 2000pt limit Maximum 3 detachments Army List must say the same for the pod cycle you are in. When one cycle is finished then you may adjust and change your list, including army faction. However, one of the options you have to spend a token on is changing your list. Forgeworld is allowed. Army list must be submitted before your first day of the cycle. Day of the new cycle all lists will be posted for everyone to see. This list must be updated should you choose to spend a token to change you list List will be reviewed only for detachment violations and record keeping. You will be on honor system for keeping honest with the list when it comes to point values. Be aware you opponents will be able to see you list too. Purposely cheating will mean expulsion from league and no refunds to entry fee. Token Spending Options (subject to change before start of league) Spend a token to select mission Spend a token to select Deployment/bonus objective Spend a token to force your opponent to deploy all units first (though this will give him the +1 to the roll off to see who goes first) Spend a token to change your army list mid cycle Opponent is allowed to spend a token to counter his opponents spending, nullifying its effect. For example if Team A spends a token to select mission, Team B can spend a token to counter it, forcing it to go back to rolling on the table. Team A can however spend another token to select the mission, raising the bid basically. This does not affect opponent spending to change army list mid cycle, that cannot be countered. We are currently play testing some other options, this list may expand. Game Format Players will roll on a mission table to determine game format. Chart will be provided prior to league start and may be tweaked between cycles should problems arise. Deployment type will be rolled on a table Secondary bonus objectives will be rolled on a chart prior to match. We are play testing this still, but we are looking at including the ability to choose bonus objective along with deployment. League will be using the following house rules Understrength Units as defined in the main rulebook on Pg.242 may only be included within Auxiliary Support Detachments (Pg.245). Ruins: For this event there will be a minimum amount of terrain required on the field. At least 6 large “counts as” ruins need to be placed on field. First Turn: When both players finish deploying, they roll off. The player that finished deploying first gains a +1 to this roll. The winner of this roll gets to choose if they will go first or second. If the winner of this roll off decides to go first, the other player may attempt to seize the initiative, and on a roll of a 6+ they go first instead. Ordo Officials reserve the right to change and/or rule on issues that come up during league. We at Ordo aim to provide a safe and fun environment for wargamers to enjoy their hobby. Attitudes and distasteful behavior will not be tolerated

  17. Honestly it’s not hard for me, just prepped up 20 dudes, then airbrush one grey, then lighter grey, then last highlight. The pants and the belt and boots are all actually the same base coat, just washed the boots and belt alllot more
