New Forge World Knight Rules and Patterns

Hello all!

Hot on the heels of last week’s FAQ and Index: Renegade Knights, we’ve got even more good news for fans of these massive war machines. We’ll dive right in…

With both Dominus-class Knights now on shelves, loads of you have been asking if you can use them in your Horus Heresy games.

Now, we have an answer – yes!

Like all Imperial Knights, the Dominus-class chassis is an ancient design predating the Imperium and the Great Crusade, having served on the Knight Worlds for hundreds of generations – nothing holds back the terrors of Old Night quite like a walking tower of guns, grit and gallantry. There’s no reason to think that Dominus-class or Armiger-class Knights wouldn’t have been found on either side of the Horus Heresy, whether scourging the servants of the False Emperor or holding the line against the servants of the Warmaster.

So, we’ll be making rules for them – and they’re on the way soon.

In fact, the team got a bit carried away – if the guys at Forge World love one thing, it’s massive war machines. You won’t just be able to use the Knight Valiant, Knight Castellan and Armigers in the Horus Heresy, but a whole range of new Knights armed with all manner of esoteric weapons from the Age of Darkness and based on these new designs.

Forge World are currently in the design and concept stage for these, but we’ve got a teeny, tiny sneak peek at an early production prototype:

If you’d like to see more, you won’t have to wait long. Next month, we’re holding a Forge World Open Day in Warhammer World, and we may be bringing some new models with us to show off. Tickets for the event are now sold out, but rest assured we’ll be bringing you all the previews from the event right here.

Meanwhile, if you’re based in Europe, Forge World will be in Düsseldorf for Warhammer Fest Europe and, again, may well have some massive war machines for you to check out – get your ticket today for your chance to see them in person.

Keep your eyes out for when the rules for Dominus-class Knights in the Horus Heresy drop – in the meantime, if you’re stuck for your next model to paint for your Horus Heresy army, you can pick up a Knight now to paint along with us on the Big Knight Painting Night!

And that’s not all…

There’s MORE? Well, yes – in all the excitement about Renegade Knights last week, you may have missed some key updates in the FAQs for Codex: Imperial Knights. The short version? Your Forge World Knights now work a lot better with your Imperial Knights and Renegade Knights armies.

Well, for loyalists, all Forge World Knights can now choose between their Questor Allegiance – that’s whether they serve the Adeptus Mechanicus or the Imperium. This means you’re free to dedicate any of your Forge World Knights to any household you choose – including Questor Mechanicus houses. What could suit the brutal, rage-filled melee assaults of House Krast more than a Cerastus Knight Lancer? Who better to take advantage of House Vulker’s Firestorm Protocols than a massive Acastus Knight Porphyrion?

For traitors, meanwhile, we’ve ensured the Questor Traitoris keyword is consistent with that in Index: Renegade Knights, allowing you to use any of your chosen Forge World Knights with your Renegade Knights army. You’ll be able to slay your enemy’s largest units using a sinister Renegade Knight Atrapos or harness the deadly and forbidden weapons of the Renegade Knight Styrix
