fluger
Here’s my first stab at a Necron phalanx style army for 2k. Destroyer Lord: 135Ressurection Orb 20 Warriors: 260 20 Warriors: 260 + 105Ghost Ark 5 Warriors: 65 + 130Nightscythe 5 Warriors: 65 + 130Nightscythe 2 Triarch Stalkers: 250 Destroyer Cult: Destroyer Lord: 135Ressurection Orb 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 2 Heavy Destroyers: 100 1995 pts I really like the Destroyer Cult’s special rule of basically getting shred on their guns. Obvious plan is obvious. Put D Lords in with Warriors, keep Ghost Ark and Stalkers in range of them. Have Destroyers near by the stalkers too. Night Scythes help anti-air and objective grabbing. Just walk at the enemy and dare them to stop you. Not married to anything yet, and I could easily drop the formation as it isn’t really helping me with defying the FOC. Obviously a unit of wraiths would be nice…
CaptainA
Can't do 5 warriors any more. Min squad is 10. I'd look at the same thing, but with the Decurion Detachment. You get +1 RP, Units within 12 of HQ get rerolls of 1 with RP and you can do the same thing but with 2x20 Warriors 5 immortals NS 5 Immortals NS 3 Tomb Blades +1 RP is much better than one res orb and a character like zandrek will be more useful IMO. fluger
Where's the Decurion Detachment rules? That's in the Blood Angels one, right?
andozane
No, Decurion is in the Necrons Codex
fluger
Never mind, I found it on BoK. Now, how do you get Triarch Stalkers in there? CAD + Decurion?
fluger
Also, I don't get preferred enemy with that.

andozane
For the Destroyer Cult don't you want the HVY Destroyers to be their own unit? I'd find some points for a Orikan the Diviner or Illuminor Szeras or just some normal Crypteks for their 4+ boost to RP Trim Warriors down a tad to find the points maybe? If you are wanting that Destroyer Lord in your CAD and Formation (so 2) then I suggest Illuminor Szeras as he does the 4+ in a 6" bubble, not just to his unit. fluger
For the Destroyer Cult don't you want the HVY Destroyers to be their own unit? Would love to, but they have to be normal destroyers, which I don't mind, honestly. I'd find some points for a Orikan the Diviner or Illuminor Szeras or just some normal Crypteks for their 4+ boost to RP The D-Lords already kinda do that, but yeah, I can see that. Trim Warriors down a tad to find the points maybe? If you are wanting that Destroyer Lord in your CAD and Formation (so 2) then I suggest Illuminor Szeras as he does the 4+ in a 6" bubble, not just to his unit. The other advantage of the D Lords is preferred enemy. With the +1 to BS from the Stalkers, the Warriors (and the destroyers since they come with PE stock) are hitting on re-rollable 2s. That's straight batty! Overall, after looking over the dex quite a bit, I think there are only a small number of turds (mostly just the monolith) and only one no-brainer unit (wraiths!). I'm just enamored of the idea of a bunch of walking warriors dealing death.
necrontyr
I think he means do 2 x 3 man Regular Destroyers, and 1 x 3 man Heavy Destroyer Squad. That fits the cult still, and will work better for shooting.
Burk
your original list was illegal. warriors are min 10 now.

That fits the cult still, and will work better for shooting. The formation requires 3 units of regular destroyers with at least 3 in the unit and CAN have 1 unit of heavy destroyers. Requirements: 1 Destoryer Lord, 3 Destroyer Units, 0-1 Heavy Destroyer Units Restrictions: Each unit of Destroyers must consist of at least 3 models. Special Rules: Move Through Cover Fearsome Ruler: If this Formation is chosen as your Primary Detachment, you can re-roll the result when rolling on the Warlord Traits table in Codex: Necrons. Extermination Protocols: All units in this Formation re-roll railed To Wound rolls and Armour Penetration rolls in the Shooting phase. Oh wow, I thought it was only 2. That makes that formation very hard to like...
andozane
But you list 3 squads of destroyers.... I see...you are listing the Hvy Destroyer as upgrade only, not a 4th destroyer in each unit...
fluger
Huh, I thought it really stood out, the re-rolls on the to-wound and pen combined with BS5 and preferred enemy just really spoke to me.

Brother Glacius
No relentless for those Destroyers though. That is why I am going to have to buy those stupid bikes now. Otherwise if you move, its snapshot city.

fluger
Yeah, what necrontyr said. Also, I realize now that I misread res orbs! I thought they made it 4+ RP, but they don't. Been working at the Decurion to try and finagle a list I like with it. Here's the framework for a different idea. Decurion Detachment: Reclamation Legion: Nemesor: 150 20 Warriors: 260 10 Warriors: 130 + 105 Ghost Ark 10 Warriors: 130 + 105 Ghost Ark 5 Immortals: 85 + 130 Nightscythe 5 Immortals: 85 + 130 Nightscythe 3 Tomb Blades: 66 Shieldvanes, Nebuloscope 3 Tomb Blades: 66 Shieldvanes, Nebuloscope Destroyer Cult: Destroyer Lord: 110 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 1912 pts
fluger
Or something like this: Decurion Detachment: Reclamation Legion: Nemesor: 150 18 Warriors: 234 10 Warriors: 130 + 105 Ghost Ark 10 Warriors: 130 + 105 Ghost Ark 5 Immortals: 85 3 Tomb Blades: 60 Nebuloscopes Destroyer Cult: Destroyer Lord: 110 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 3 Destroyers: 120 Judicator Battalion: 2 Triarch Stalkers: 250 5 Triarch Praetorans: 140 5 Triarch Praetorans: 140 1999
