OPTION #1:

TWO-day, 5-round event SAT-SUN, FEB 18-19 (Presidents' Day Weekend):
3 rounds on SAT (10 AM to 8 PM)
2 rounds on SUN (12-6 PM)

Two tiers of entry fee:

a) $25 for Both days (fee covers room rental)

b) $15 for SAT only

 EIGHT Prizes:

1. Best General, battles 1-5 (most wins + points)
2. 2nd Place General, battles 1-5
3. Best General, battles 1-3 (smaller prize than #1)
4. 2nd Place General, battles 1-3 (smaller prize than #2)
5. Best Sportsman
6. Best painted platoon (1)
7. Best Presented Army (1)
8. Best objectives or terrain (1)

Gamers who register for only SAT are only eligible for prizes 3-8.

Prizes 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 are awarded on SAT.

Gamers who register for BOTH SAT & SUN are eligible for prizes 1-8

Prizes 1, 2 and 5 are awarded on SUN

(1) Judging Competition for prizes 6-8 will be on SAT, between 1015 and 1100.

(2) Judging Competition for prizes 4-6 will be on SAT, between 1015 and 1100.

I rather like the first option.  Cool is the option to do 1 or 2 days with the prizes different for each giving those who can only do 1 day the option to do so rather then not attend at all.

I like option 2.

One whole day of playing Flames of War wears me out.  I'm not into marathon playing. A 1 day event is plenty of fun for me, especially when I have been working on NOT getting caught up in the competitive nature of tournaments.

My totally arbitrary minimum headcount for 2-day event is 6 dedicated players.

If less than that vote for 2-days, then it's a one-day event.

So if you know anyone with strong opinions, jab them with a sharp stick to vote.
