pretre Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 I'm having a moment and can't find/remember the answer. If you have a ML1 psyker, can they cast ML2 powers? They can't cast more powers than their mastery level (so 1 power), but could I, for example, cast prescience with my ML1 psyker? 1 Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 It'd be silly to have a table you roll on with spells you can't cast. 1 Quote
Purajh Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 You will be able to use it. Prescience does not specify a Mastery level but it is 2 warp charges to manifest I am assuming your interpreting the Warp Charge cost as the mastery Level? If so that is not the case. Warp charges are only limited by your dice pool (Combined total of Mastery levels of Psykers on the table + 1d6) BRB Page 22 Number of Psychic Powers - "If a Psyker generates all of his psychic powers from the same discipline, that Psyker will automatically know that discipline's Primaris power in addition to any other powers they know." The current FAQ's do limit you to the number of powers you can manifest per turn cannot be greater that your Mastery level. 1 Quote
DisruptiveConduct Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 No rerolling for powers you get but cant cast? 1 Quote
SigurdBC Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 No rerolling for powers you get but cant cast? Unfortunately no. I had my Nurgle Daemon Prince a few weeks ago roll on Telepathy and get the psychic power that gives a unit shrouded. It was unlucky since my entire army already had shrouded from being a daemon of nurgle. Another thing is that Mastery lvl determines how many powers you get at the start of the game (Mastery lvl 1 psycher gets to roll once on a discipline tree), AND the number of powers you can attempt to manifest in a single psychic phase. A lot of people forget the second part, including myself, at times. 1 Quote
pretre Posted January 31, 2017 Author Report Posted January 31, 2017 Aha okay I was just being crazy then. Maybe I'm confusing a previous edition. I don't run a lot of psykers. Thanks all! Quote

I swear it was like that at some point but am probably wrong. Quote
SigurdBC Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Yep, it was one of those /facepalm moments. It was at that moment that my Daemon Prince knew he'd ****** up. In that same instance he also rolled the Telepathy power that gave a unit/caster a 5++ against shooting. Dude, you're a deamon. You already have that. Grrr 1 Quote
AbusePuppy Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Last edition, when warp charge and mastery level worked different, ML1 psykers could not cast WC2 spells and would have to reroll them if they got them on the table; however, that rule no longer exists. 1 Quote
