Pretty much any of the smaller game kits. BB, Necromunda, Shadespire, etc. They've all got killer unique models.

I have two of the new plastic ones. Someone else slapped some basecoat paint on them, but nothing that can't be touched up. I was going to use them for a conversion project, but doubt I will get around to it anytime soon. Trades?

No preference. I will cobble together enough similar designs to mark all my Knights. I do prefer the AdMech symbols to the Imperial aqiulas, but there's no real wrong answer.
