  1. High magic gives you a token on the caster for each spell successfully cast. Each token can be used to ignore a wound on the caster or his unit.
  2. Yeah if i run him he will have the shield of ptolos for a 1+ save against shooting
  3. Hmmm. I could give him the shield of ptolos inastead of helm of the hunt. That would give him a 1+ armor save against shooting
  4. Yeah I did think about that. The hits should randomize mostly to the the eagle. I am hoping I can minimize the shots at him by keeping him hidden from most things. He will be my warmachine hunter so they shouldn't have to many opportunities to shoot him. If they are shooting him they aren't shooting then wild riders or dragon so that's not ahorrible thing. Target saturation
  5. they cant be picked out can they? the bsb or general will be closeby so forced frenzy charge is unlikely.
  6. they are both on unicorns; one in each wild rider unit
  7. I agree with fixxer on this. I find the OFCC to be very strategically challenging. I think that is because the variety of lists you see and the scenarios vary widely. If you go to an uncomped event people know they will need to bring a very strong list to stand a chance. This eliminates a good amount of units as options. I feel like I have a pretty good idea of lists I will see at uncomped events but at OFCC I am surprised by a couple that I play every year. I guess if your definition of competitive is strong lists then OFCC is not competitive but if your idea of competitive is tight games that challenge you mentally then OFCC is competitive. Just my .02
  8. So essentially the plan is to shoot the crap out of units then charge them when they are weak enough to be wiped out. I take the dragon because I have a model for one tbh. Dragon flies into a flank, hail doom arrows, then charges next turn. Wild rider units hang out in the woods and the lore of light attribute let's me soak up some wounds. Mages hang out on the end of wild rider units minimize models that can attack them, again the lore of light attribute can mitigate the damage. Of course this is all theory hammer and I have yet to test it in a game
  9. Just double checked and they do. Also modified the list to make it legal. Figured lore of light on both mages and put them in wild riders. Theblore attribute will be great for those units.
  10. Thinking of putting in another way watcher for the helm of the hunt.
  11. I was leaning towards light on the mages. Thanks for spotting the error on the lord. As far as the wild riders go I want to keep the shields as I feel that 4+ armor is a big deal. As far as the command goes I want the champ to absorb challenges, but I could see dropping the standard and musician. Musician could be handy for rally rolls and the standards are needed for fortitude. That was my logic on taking them.
  12. Picked up the book yesterday and here is the first list i came up. Took forever to get the points to work Glade Lord 528 dragon, talis. preservation, hail doom arrow, charmed shield, asrai spear Spellsinger 225 level 2, calaingor stave, talis. endurance, unicorn Spellsinger 200 level 2, dispel scroll, unicorn Glade Captain 199 bsb, eagle, bow of loren, helm of the hunt, luckstone, shield, asrai spear Glade Guard (10) 150 hagbane Glade Guard (10) 160 hagbane, musician Glade Guard (10) 160 trueflight, musician Glade Guard (10) 160 trueflight, musician Wild Riders (5) 170 full cmd, shields Wild Riders (5) 170 full cmd, shields Treeman 225 Eagle 50 Waywatchers (5) 100 thoughts?
  13. Again the deadline has been pushed back to July 1st. 7 weeks should be more than enough time
  14. the deadline is July 1st now. Thats like 7 weeks away which should be more than enough time.
  15. So I looked at the FAQ and I don't see anything about warhounds counting towards core. I know the book say as they don't count towards core choices. Does that mean that they don't count towards core points in 8th? Just want to make sure I am thinking correctly.
  16. Like everyone else I think this is a great list for ofcc
  17. I like it. Its a tough list but not too tough. What lore is your slann taking?
  18. Probably a dumb question, but how do you take trolls in a beastmen army?
  19. since wild riders are no longer forest spirits do you guys think dryad models mounted on horses for wild riders would be looked down upon? i modeled up some back in 7th
  20. So last year's OFCC was the lightest comp i have seen and there were some problems with a few lists. The previous 3 i went to had stricter comp and there were zero problems with lists. This fact alone IMO makes the case for comp. If someone wants to bring an army that breaks the comp rules but is fluffy and not a hard list then talk with your captain about it and maybe an exception can be made. Not promising anything but i dont see that as out of the realm of possibility.
