  1. I have no problems with it either. I dont think its very limitting at all.
  2. Scenarios i like: Multiple objective markers on the board to pick up, anything that changes deployment such as dawn attack, battle for the pass is also a fun one. Scenarios i dislike: Watchtower, king of the hill I like the objective markers because it makes you move around the board. Scenarios that change up deployment make you adjust on the fly with your gameplan, which i think is challenging and also makes for a more interesting game. Every watchtower game i have ever played has been bad, regardless of my opponent. I feel that anything that encourages your whole army to flock to one spot on the board makes for a messy game, and building rules really are bad for some armies. I dislike king of the hill for the same reasons
  3. looks like i may have to flesh out my wood elf army.
  4. Can a cav base be picked out and make way if it is in an Infantry block of 25mm troops.
  5. The FAQs are coming back. They just aren't up yet. GW said they will be back up soon
  6. R u forgetting about thunderstomp? That's 7+d6 attacks. That's going to do more damage to the swordsmen than they will to the bastiladon. Any elite infantry will tear it to shreds, but they should since it is only 150pts. For its point value it does just fine in combat.
  7. Its not horrible in combat. Especially against infantry as long as they don't have great weapons. I find it really shines when used with my saurus block in combat.
  8. In my limited bastiladon experience I have found them to be very effective for their point cost. I think people expect more out of them based on the look of the model and the fact that its a monster. As lustriangod said in a non slann list it provides quite the punch
  9. Stegs are stubborn so they stay more than they run. Chances arw good that the general would bw within 12 inches which means breaking the steg is nigh imposible. After the first round you lose your lance bonus so.it becomes much more difficult for you
  10. If you give the slann a flying carpet he becomes much more mobile. Juat a thought. I have been toying with a similar list myself. I would put the stegadon hwlm on the scar vet mounted on the carnasaur so hw can take advamtage of impact hits more often
  11. Beastlords on razorgor chariots are a ton of fun. They hit like freight trains and give you the all imlortant Ld 9.
  12. I got two games in tonite with this list and I am pretty pleased with the results. First game was against an empire gun line and his 3 cannons were spot on all gsme so lost tjat one. The skrox units were very good tho. For 110 pts they are phenomenal units. They pack just enough punch to be a good flanking unit and have enoigh shooting to handle fast cav. I think 2 units of these will be in most every list I bring. Also razrdons and salamanders become super nasty units with the lore of beasts. Put wysans on a unit of razordons and between that and their stand and shoot most units have a real tough time with them. without a slann eating up all the magic dice the bastiladons solar engine got off some nasty magic missles.
  13. I always include a couple units of blowpipe skinks and a large block of saurus for core. Atleast one ancient steg. A couple units of chameleons to deal with war machines. After that I feel like there is a lot of flexibility. It seems like razordons got worse in the book as they suffer long range penalty and no longer get 2 art when they stand and shoot. I think a solar engine bastiladon is a steal for 150 pts. Its a great flank protector for infantry blocks and its bound spell has potential to do great damage. Moat lizardmen armies auto include slann, but I try to break the mold and go without.
  14. Its situations like this that are the reason I am not a fan of named characters. There is one model in all of the armies that can do this in close combat and its a named character. using magic is a different story bwcause it can be dispeled in most cases.
  15. I know this is kind of a generalizatipn, but I dont like facing super hard lists or super soft lists. I feel like either of these take more of the outcome out of the hands of the general. If both players have lists that are similar in power then rhe game should be close. If you only like playing against tough lists so that you dont get am easy win why not tone down your list so that you dont get any easy wins and maybe you get some really tough well earned wins.
  16. the scar vet cowboy is something i might try out. I love the steg helm on the oldblood. 1+/4++ and tough 6 is one tough mofo. If i drop the skink chief bsb then i dont have a bsb. I know slann are the best optiion for this but i am trying not to take one. I guess i could take a scarvet bsb on foot. Its kind of nice having 18 inch bsb coverage tho
  17. Here is what i decided to test out Saurus Oldblood on Carnasaur 429pts spear, shield, ironcurse icon, sacred steg helm Saurus Oldblood 196pts great weapon, armor of destiny Skink Chief on Ancient Steg 349pts spear, light armor, bsb talisman of preservation, ench shield Skink Priest 125pts lvl2 beasts, dispel scroll Skink Priest 130pts lvl2 beasts, cube of darkness 28 Saurus 338pts spear, full cmd 10 skink skirmishers 70pts blowpipes 10 skink cohort, 1 kroc 110pts musician 10 skink cohort, 1 kroc 110pts musician 5 cham skinks 65pts bastiladon solar engine 150pts 3 razordons 195 pts ancient steg 230 pts
  18. the one without slann or with? Glad i could inspire you to not get rid of an army
  19. putting something on a base that it doesnt come with so that you can pivot it and gain extra range does not qualify as tactics in my book.
  20. I really like that one too. Is it big enough to be a giant?
