  1. Current and future OFCC 40K Teams!

This thread will serve as the list of 40K Teams and their Saturday Challenges. For those of you who did not see it in the Player's Guide, each team can leverage a challenge against another team for each of their 3 Saturday matches.

In order for a challenge to be recognized, both teams must agree to it.

Over the next few days I will start populating this first post with the Team Names and Captain Names to facilitate the process (once I start combing through the other threads, PMs, emails, FB posts, and all the other ways I have been notified of teams.)

If you want to bypass my impressive cataloging system then feel free to list the information below. 🙂

Team Diversity - Captain: Xavier319 (Sean)
Ordo East - Captain: Craeat (Robert)
Team Fate - Captain: Ash (Mike)
Team Fury - Captain: zcaust83 (Chris)
    Infil-Traitors - Captain: WestRider (Alexis)
    Warhamsters - Captain: VonVilkee (Corey)
Get of my LAN - Captain: Manethak (Troy)
Silence of the Warp - Captain: peter.cosgrove (Pete)
Kill! Maim! Beer! - Captain: Edosaurus Rex (Ed)
Fanger Zone - Captain: Chappy (Gary)
Team BDSM - Captain: PumpkinHead (Saul)
Team Ad Hoc - Captain: Frobakk (Todd)
Goin' Xenos - Captain: Dark Trainer (Matt)

Does the 4 limit apply to dedicated transports? There are many factions that have smaller dedicated transports where more than 4 is common.

Is there a reason this cannot just be reworded to be like GW official match play stance, but with rule of 4 rather than 3? That would remove confusion about this restriction.

    @Arizenkin

In an effort to not completely rebuild the section, I made the following adjustment:

The number of times each datasheet can be included is 4 (6 for Troops and for Dedicated Transports)

I hope this helps in your list building 🙂

  3. Okay, time for a massive update!

First, I did print a ton of barrels for scatter terrain

Next, I decided this table would be more manageable as a whole if I built six 2x2 tiles. So I began the process of assembling and arranging everything printed to date.

Here is Tile #1 (each tile has two images):

    Here is Tile #2:

    Tile #4

The final tile is still in process (I am reworking the pipe tile), but here is a shot of the everything done to date.

FYI - Pete is in the shot for scale purposes only, I did not print him. 🙂

  4. OFCC Teams!!!

I am soliciting for digital banners to represent your team. These banners would be used during the event, on this site, on social media, and anywhere else chosen to display the glory of your team.

The banner parameters are as follows:

    • The banner must be a JPG or PNG file
    • The banner dimensions must be at least 500x600 or a multiple of that (1000x1200, 1500x1800, etc.)
    • The banner must be family friendly (if you need to ask what means, PM me)

    Here is an example:

Now, let those creative juices flow and show me those banners!

It's less about bending over backwards and more about what I can afford to buy at this point. I'm just getting back into the game, and like a doofus, I sold all of the stuff I had when I quit. So I'm building my army from scratch now, and I'm trying to work under a tight budget.

I say play what you want, and just come to have fun. If you ever worry about winning, achievements, scoring, or anything like that then let me share an important life lesson I learned 40 years ago. 🙂

Ordo won't show the flow chart, so a link is the best I can do:

    https://images.app.goo.gl/aQwmXsmWbT2SYMJSA

    Hopefully that works.

Basically, GW decided they were going to remove unit and wargear options that weren't available in their model range as they released codices (because converting models is bad, they're already perfect as is). The problem was, they didn't apply that logic to every codex, so some armies got restricted and some didn't. For instance, they removed hekatrix bloodbrides and trueborn when they released the Drukhari codex but they left conscripts in for Astra Millitarum.

This arbitrary process of limiting some armies and not others lead to some backlash within the community. So they made the above flow chart so that people could still use their models and be on an even playing field with GW's preferred armies.

    So it's a 2 part question:

    1) Do you want to use the flowchart at all, or if your codex is released, the index options are invalid?

    2) If we do use the flowchart, if there is a difference in points for the same piece of wargear between the index and codex, would you like us to pay index cost for index options, codex (updated) cost for index options, or whichever is more?

    Thanks!

It look like that flowchart is part of the Designer Commentary, which is a current errata listed on the GW site. It is allowed! 🙂

Regarding points, I would defer to the top of that document which states; "Note that regardless of which datasheet you use, if you are playing a matched play game, or a game that uses a points limit, you should always use the most recently published points for your models and their weapons and wargear."

    I have two questions:

One, will the beta "Bolter Discipline" rule for Astartes be in place? I would assume the answer is no until the rule is made official, but I wanna check.

Two, for the purpose of the "Going Old School" achievement, do the Vanguard Primaris from the Shadowspear box count as coming out of the Space Marines codex, even though they come out of their own little mini codex? I know they basically integrate into regular Space Marines without having to take a separate detachment of them, so I'd assume so, but we know what happens when you assume...

Right now, I am leaning toward "no" on the bolter discipline. I will give it some additional time before making that call.

For the Vanguard Primaris, I would need to see the Shadowspear booklet to know for sure. I'll try and track one down.
