So, how would one use these to their best effect? A model in base-to-base is able to fire the Storm Bolters - but what is the LoS? Would the gunner need to be standing at the side of the container so they personally could see the target? Or could the stand behind it and you draw LoS from the container itself? And what about the rest of the squad - they can't really see through it, can they? I'm not sure if you'd want to put one guy in base-to-base with the container and the rest of the squad behind the crates/barrels.

So I picked up some Fireforge highland crag bases awhile back that I'm thinking of using. Pretty simple slate-looking bases. If I want to make some matching ones in 130mm, where's the best place to find slate (to buy, not scrounge)?

Hey Ordo - Was thinking of picking up some 3rd party models as Cult Mechanicus Kataphron Destroyers. The Destroyers normally come on 60mm bases and are essentially cyborg mini-tank tread guys. The 3rd party models are more like 25mm infantry types (but with the correct plasma / grav weapons). Is it cool to mount 25mm models on a 60mm base and call it good? Maybe add some scenic terrain to bulk them up a bit? I'm just wondering for line-of-sight issues or something. Don't want to model for advantage and all that. Nerd to your mutha
