  1. 1 XL Lieutenant I request delivery to CA, in person, Memorial Day weekend, if you get my drift.
  2. Thanks Koyote! Yes Jim, going to shoot for the under on a decade. Next 600 points should come quicker, I hope ;)
  3. Well another ~2 years has passed, another infant child, so time to start painting again! Up to 119 painted models and ~630 points. Excited for 9th age also excited to be painting some vermin hulks [rat ogres]and meat grinder [doom flayer].
  4. Ok let me asks a couple follow on Qs: Re big block vuknerability - what sizes have you seen people doing to protect flanks? More redirectors? More scouting / ambushing? Splitting larger units to protect points? RE dread mill, it fits with the theme of the army but not sure if I can fit it in. I have the model so might look at how it fits. Any suggestions on magic that would best support what I want to be an in your face army? Not sure I have good grasp of mets in magic
  5. Hey working on painting my Skaven again, between using what I have and about $125 bucks I can get a fun to paint and model list mostly built out. What would be people's input for a hand to hand Skaven army. Looking at building around the following: 2x slaves units ~ 20 each 2x Storm vermin units ~35 strong 2x clan rats units ~ 50 strong 2x DoomFlayers 1x abomination 1x unit rat ogres w/ hero or warlord mount 6? Total? 1x hero warlord on giant rat (sweet forge world model) This gets me most of the way to 2500. Looking for ideas to round out the list to make it fun to play but get to paint some fun models also.
  6. Thanks dude! Ordered 1, just need to hunt down one more! I started slapping paint on Rats again for 9th age.
  7. Hey hamsters, good to see you last week. Looking for some ideas to source 2x skaven doom Flayers. I am striking out everywhere I have looked (barter town, eBay, war store, rogue trading) any ideas?
  8. Looking to get 2-4 DoomFlayers to finish 1-2 units. Have cash can arrange pick up in PDX/BLI or pay shipping. I also have a bunch of pathfinder books, hordes of Skaven models that you may need...some 40k chaos marines...
  9. How good sir do you want me to pay? I might have to have you give them to someone for pickup in August...maybe delivered to my mother in law for shipping...will have to let you know.
  10. Kacy- if I can pay you via WECU transfer and pick up in August I will take: Large rule book Dread Elves Vermin Chaos mortals Empire
  11. Oh it's over engineered and I deserve the ribbing, but the modular 4x4 table dream is going to knock the socks off...especially when painted! I have to step up my mold game though as the pieces that are two levels deep could be complex. I think July paycheck I will be placing the big resin and silicone order.
  12. Made some progress this weekend. Recieved master prints, pic 1. Cast up a coupl sets Pic 2. Then checked fit on insets Pic 3. Likely will finish out details on all pieces over next few weeks and then order materiaks for master casting and multiple reproductions in resin.
  13. I have this terrain project I have been working off and on for a few years. Getting to a point where I might actually get a finished (part) project in the next few months...figured I would share, maybe will help keep me inspired, my littlest is 2 months old so long chunks of hobby time is sparse! A great game for me is with well painted models on both sides on a amazing table. I have made various terrain features but I wanted to make a modular system I can stack up and store and reassemble across a table. I really enjoy a table with lots of elevation, and if it flows all the better. Anyway fast forward through a lot of design trial and error and I am getting close to having a modular system ready to start casting. Here are WIP shots of some hills (I should get the table transition masters this week to start to work on. Lots of silicone molds and resin. Anyway it stacks both horizontally and vertically. Need to finish texturing items in photos and then seal to make master molds. Next step is to make the transition pieces for the little hills to nest in and transition to table so they don't have that 5mm lip.
  14. Massive Darkness... Model count alone already has me interested... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/massive-darkness
  15. Yes, but for a terrain concept I am working on. But you can go to 3Dhubs and upload a .stl file and see the cost by material and adder for greater micron layers to add details. My tolerances were in .2mm range and re casting so I got off cheap (11 bucks a print roughly) for some decent volumes, also all geometric shapes though and minimal worry about details. Anyway long answer but load your model file and you will get all kinds of quotes, once you have your design. I have done all my own modeling so no idea on design fees...
  16. You were robbed! I just hope that goddamn cupcake game was not ahead of you. Did that redneck invasion game get in the top places? Great to see you Brad, Jim, & Kacy. Hopefully you make the trek back next year. Lib has given me green light to attend for the weekend. I had a great time for the one day I went and would recommend others to attend.
  17. Good luck Nathan! This kind of thread makes me yearn for the 'ham! Metal Studio space and painting space, to cool!
  18. Jim, awesome stuff! Also check out makexyz.com, can get better print pricing than shape ways, and quicker sometimes with local source for next time you need to out source.
  19. Great episode, I play niether of the games but still enjoyed the entire thing in pieces during my commute this week! Looking forward to the next one.
  20. I have always liked Orcas Island myself. There are some great yurt rentals for those on a budget. Plenty of B&Bs and then hotels if needed. My favorite trip actually was one where we rented a house and split it with some friends. East sound is the biggest "town" on orcas. You can hike my constitution and if it is a clear day see for miles, all the way to the 'ham. Logistics wise try to leave for the island on a Thursday and leave on a Monday. That way you can dodge the bad weekend ferry traffic. On orcas there is a great resteraunt for about eat here: http://www.innatshipbay.com/dining_events.html We always make sure to budget for one fancy meal here, though if I recall they shut down for part of the slow winter. Been to San Juan lots too, take a bicycle and your it. Some grey B&Bs! Plus wine tasting, laid back, but not the same as Orcas in my opinion, more people with big $ and big boats visible. And on the topic of mathletic, I graded some of intrinzics math adventures at the U! He is a my mathelete!
