  1. I would have Jim do it! I sent my guys contact to Brad. Citing my sources, I got his name from Kacey.
  2. I will take it. I will PM my new address and paypal you the cost plus ship, assuming sherbet passes.
  3. Alright this was my movement tray solution for my skaven. 1) use wife's rolling blade paper cutter on GW plastic sheets 2) paint trays with iron shaving paint 3 coats 3) get 1" wide magnetic tape (hardware sales has this) flatten tape then glue to bases and trim. Works great for me, you can see what the trays look like in my artificers forge thread. Either way go magnetic, saves set up time and bumps issues.
  4. Lightbox whole army, a mighty ~500 points (with slings ) Now onto another warpfire thrower and posionwind mortar weapons team and my paint reward of 4 rat ogres, going to have a bit of green stuff ahead of me for the ogres, also need to cut a movement tray for them eventually. I am giving myself a month to get these done, assuming I get some time across thanksgiving.
  5. Lightbox shot of skaven slaves unit 2
  6. Here is my weapon teams, warplock eng, and hero.
  7. Here is Spear clan rats unit, using lightbox.
  8. Back in the saddle! New daughter is 6 months old, was about 4 months of no painting due to new job and new kid. Here is a paint log update. Just finished the bases on my 25 HW&SH clan rats. Working on using my light set up. Seems to me I can't quite get enough light into the light box through the walls...will need to pick the brains of some of my mini photo expert friends.
  9. Also be careful with your glue options, do some tests, most I have dealt with don't favorably interact with clear plastics and cause clouding.
  10. When I build my halfling empire army I am using these: http://www.warploqueminiatures.com/#!the-halflings-of-hobbleshire/c185o
  11. Solution: Keep forum as is, seems to have worked for las few years. To be more inviting to newcomers: Ask Nathaniel if ok to install war hamster white board, then: -Each week rotate who has there name/contact on the white board for a) Fantasy b) 40k c) other flavor of gaming going on - have instructions for anyone looking for pickup game on Tuesday to contact before previous Sunday - rotate names that Tuesday, if a named person not contacted by Sun evening hop in the boards and hopefully get a game. Just my two cents, p.s. Will be looking for a game of fantasy in June of 2015, not sure what week yet
  12. Quotes incoming: Starting with my favorite: "I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a warhamster." Modified Alexander the Great, I hope you can figure out the original. Or "Brave men rejoice in adversity, just as brave warhamsters triumph in war." Modified Some roman I think Or "warhamsters generally win battles; generals get credit for them." Modified napolean Or "Discipline is simply the art of making the soldiers fear their officers more than the warhamsters" Or "The true warhamster fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him."
  13. Looking for plastic storm vermin, will take assembled and primed/painted, will need a picture though, not paying for paint as I will be stripping. PM if you have some you need to unload, will pay the shipping. I am in CA.
  14. Back at it again after 5 month break, the newest "miniature" is now going to bed at a decent hour. Painted some bases and some rats. Updated the initial progress post.going to do all the bases of the first unit, wish me luck, but can do that in low light conditions watching tv.
  15. Where is the obligatory picture of display boards for the various warhamster teams found?
  16. On a related note where is the cheapest online source to buy the pluck foam trays? I need to get some in varying heights for my skaven.
  17. Great work, can't wait to see more! Where did you get those wheels?
  18. Finished 5 hw & Sh rats...hopefully I can get better picture quality up, my light box should be here next week. Edited first post also. Can't figure out how to get correct attachment orientation.
  19. I have multiple armies, though getting a game is tough, as the soonest I could be back living in the BLI will be late nov. You should do some teaching games, really that is going to be the way to expose people. One thing about warhamsters is they are always up for a new game. And some time the old can be new! The age of the system (use the old rulebooks and models) makes it a real low barrier to eBay for anyone on barter town or eBay.
  20. I can't believe I dare beat this drum again, but the LoTR battle strategy did both of these well. On item one, the might mechanic implements a nice "economy of actions" for your heroes, do you declare a heroic move, to allow your hero and men around him to move first? Or do you save the might for that combat to kill that key goblin, blocking your war bands escape. Not super combos, but enough that makes list building, deployment and play very tactical. On item two LoTR knocks it out of the park. Often when we were playing back in the heyday, Tony and I could get a game in, then either switch deployment, armies, or objectives in the same game. Anyway Godslayer models look pretty dang cool!
  21. Great project, cannot wait to see more. The pistoliers are great!
  22. Update: finished a warp fire thrower and plague mortar, then moved onto my first "paint reward" the hero and warplock eng...about 2 weeks ago, took little time off prepping for my newest miniature... She showed up on Saturday at 6am. All is well. Was able to get the paints out and get a couple coats on the rats today. Going to be painting in 5 man(rat) sets to keep progress going. One session earlier today I only got to paint tails with our toddler in my lap, but will keep the paint brush to the plastic! The slog of 25 hw & sh clan rats has begun.
  23. 11/22, this date intrigues me, weekend before Thanksgiving, and I hate to fly that week...might just need a Friday flight out, if I can paint the next 150 rats.
