  1. I'm still in for the 20th, I meant the one this coming weekend up North...
  2. I unfortunately won't be able to make the tournament this weekend because it's my son's 8th birthday party... I've also posted on the miniatures page, though their tournaments / events page doesn't seem to get much traffic...
  3. I have some partially painted stuff (EW German and some Italian) I may be able to donate to the cause - but they'd need a little fleshing out...
  4. So where is everyone on this one??? What's it going to take to get more butts in the seats (or next to the gaming tables, as it were)...
  5. When it comes to paint colors, unfortunately Battlefront will use the "home brand" over anything else... even if it isn't quite right. Their new line is a bit limited, and I understand they're working with "scale color" and colors designed to have washes over them - which works just fine for infantry, but much less well for armored vehicles.
  6. I'm going to be using the MIG colors as well... after I finish my Polish for the EW tournament... :D
  7. Blogged it - also posted it on WWPD and The Miniatures Page... ... and a couple of the Facebook pages too...
  8. You should probably put this one on the FoW forum as well - see if we can drum up some additional players... :D
  9. Congratulations on the impending new addition to the family - my son turns 8 this month - I'm hoping to start getting him into the hobby soon... :D
  10. Honestly I like the 15mm scale - good compromise between being able to get a high level of detail and playability - 1:285th is too small to paint up beyond a basic standard for all but the most talented artists... 28mm gets very big if you're using vehicles...
  11. Sweet - so what do we need to do to set the date??? :D Do I need to call Angel?
  12. Quick question on list building - at the 500 point level there is the following restriction: With your opening the campaign up to non-raiding lists, is this still in effect?
  13. ...also - any chance of running this as 1550 like last year??? :D
  14. Last year we had to wait until March for the 2015 preview - this time, we get the 2016 preview.... TODAY! :D http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=5091 My thoughts here: http://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2015/12/thoughts-on-whats-next-for-flames-of-war.html
  15. I can do either of those dates, but would prefer the 27th...
  16. So what all do we need to do to get this going???
  17. If you hit the links to the box sets in the blog entry it shows the decals if you scroll down.
  18. I've been madly putting together tanks for Team Yankee (having picked up both the US and Soviet boxes). First impressions - the Abrams is extremely cool because you get parts for the M1 and M1A1 versions - though there is some oddness with the rear armor skirt and the retaining plate - I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about that yet... The T-72 overall is pretty nice as well. Getting the gun cleaned up with the multiple points of attachment is a pain, and the rear auxiliary fuel tanks are also a pain (join seam in the worst possible place - but that's common to T-72 kits in just about ANY scale). Otherwise it's a shake 'n bake (throw some glue in a box, shake it up, finished miniature comes out). Fun comparison of a Panzer IV Ausf H, T-72, and T-35 to give you a sense of the scale: Full detailed review at the blog: http://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2015/12/team-yankee-miniature-review-abrams-and.html
  19. So I'm hoping to get my Black Brigade finally finished over Christmas - only about a year late. So anyone else up for an early war tournament sometime in the first half of next year??? I'd even be willing to help organize... just as long as I actually get to play as well.... :D
