  1. Guess I better try and get my NVA painted then, eh? Should have the model room up and running in a week or two... :D
  2. Pencil me in for the Black Brigade - I'll have to re-jigger the list, but it'll be fun... :D
  3. Hey all - I've gotten dragged into something at work and won't be able to make it this weekend...
  4. Nah, I cleaned the whole thing out before I primed it. I even used the plastic shell of an old broken pair of headphones as the engine... :)
  5. I actually built one of those at one point in the late 80's...
  6. Custodes Grav Tank: More here: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/blog/blog.jsp?_requestid=8632258
  7. Iron Maiden... EXCELLENT! I've seriously considered picking up some of the British stuff just because it is so darn entertaining... and Harriers... did I mention Harriers!?!?!??!? ... but likely won't happen until the new house is together in a couple of months...
  8. The sheer number of special rules at this point can be dizzying for new players. I'd love to see some streamlining... does anyone have any previews at this point?
  9. I'm game. How many point? What era do you wat to do?
  10. Honestly I'm at the point where I just use what GW includes in the box. I have no desire at this point to rebase 20+ year old miniatures. That being said is there an official at this point. Standard infantry like Guard still seem to have the old base size whereas the new marines have the larger bases. For new stuff I don't mind going to the new standard, but given that even the Gaunts of various stripes are on the old base size I can't see 32mm being standard for those at this point...
  11. I'm going to have to find a way to take the 105mm squad. Not only were they absolute professionals, but there are some interesting modeling options in building the unit as well
  12. Will probably have to get this one...
  13. Design notes for the new list are up on the main Flames of War page: http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=5317
  14. The disappearance of the dwarves has been debated for years... teams scour their ruins for clues to their disappearance, and their machines soldier on in their absence... oh wait a minute, we're talking Squats, not Dwemer... these days it's so hard to keep the Warhammer and Skyrim universes straight...

    40k idea

Sounds sort of halfway between 40K and Flames of War - in FoW when you're shooting your required number to hit is based on the skill of the target unit (Conscripts are hit on 2+ before modifiers, Trained on 3+, Veterans on 4+), but in close combat hits are based on the skill of the attacking unit.
  16. Great tournament guys - had a lot of fun! Barca did an amazing job of getting this one together...
  17. It definitely looks like Team Yankee is starting to have some legs... I guess I'm going to have to get painting! :D
  18. Honestly I couldn't have said it better. I've just started building and even occasionally painting bugs as well and for me it's all about the models and playing a few friendly games with my son. If I've learned one thing about 40K over the years it's "if you don't like the rules, just wait - they'll change." At this point GW has some really lovely models both in the regular plastic and the Forgeworld side of the house. I picked up some Forgeworld stuff to take advantage of the free shipping... don't care how they do on the table, I just think they're awesome looking...
  19. Bah - the Japanese were better - they actually had anti-aircraft sights on their rifles!
