  1. I'm hoping to start getting back out in a couple weeks - will be looking to play some TY once I get my DDR force painted... :D
  2. It's been asked in the thread related the new U.S. book on the main forum, but so far crickets on this particular omission (though other omissions like the M5 have warranted comment)...
  3. Yeah, but why should we have to "make up" rules at this point? This isn't a "brand new" game, it's V4 of an existing system... BF still has the M3 75mm GMC miniature on their web page, why the heck didn't they include rules for it in the book covering the most iconic battles where it was used???
  4. The M3 75mm GMC made a big impact at El Guettar, so any force trying to recreate that battle is fairly lost without them. I'm honestly at a complete loss at this point - had high hopes that this would get the FoW stuff off of the shelf and back on the painting table, but so far it just isn't happening...
  5. I unfortunately have a conflict this day... I'll be at Orycon... the previous Saturday is out too... any way to do this on the 4th?
  6. I had designs on doing a Kasserine Pass through El Guettar force, but it appears the M3 75mm GMC is missing from the first round... story of V4 so far... ready to spend my money only to find critical units "streamlined" out of the force organization...
  7. That's the plan at this point. Was going to try and get them ready for the Fulda Gap event, but I've had too much business travel and thing going on at work...
  8. Made an update today: https://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2017/07/ddr-nva-build-log-progress.html 10 of 15 T72 are ready for primer. Hail battery is ready for primer (kudos to BF for replacing my mangled first box). BMP-1 are moving along. Infantry box is opened and in the sort and clean phase... Hail Hydra... errr... Galaxar... oh you get the idea...
  9. Yeah, there are a lot of funky vehicles out there... I'll have some more in a future blog... :D
  10. Most recent post detailing some of the vehicles of the Arab-Israeli wars is up on WWPD. http://www.wwpd.net/2017/07/armor-of-arab-israeli-wars-or-mikes.html
  11. I can imagine. I honestly bet a lot of people playing video games like world of warships don't realize that they are compressed in terms of scaling as well.
  12. Since there are a lot of new folks coming into FoW and TY - I updated my ground scale vs. game scale analysis... Enjoy! https://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2017/07/team-yankee-and-flames-of-war-game.html
  13. Updates in thread below Starting to get going on my East Germans... going to be a long process... More T-72's and some Hails Read the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly here: https://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2017/07/whats-back-on-table-team-yankee.html
  14. I'm interested, but won't be able to start until after I finish business travel later this month...
  15. I'm hoping to do a Kasserine Pass American force... planning on converting a bunch of direct vision slot Shermans... should look cool on the table...
  16. In EW and LW only, unfortunately. In MW all we have are North Africa British and German, and highly edited versions of that. Hopefully the new command cards will fix the gaps in the existing lists.
  17. Battlefront did a lot of clever stuff with the new plastic Panzer III, Panzer IV, and even 8.8cm gun plastic miniatures. Full thoughts on the blog: http://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2017/04/new-bf-plastics-rommels-afrika-korps.html
  18. I may have some NVA ready... I've got things assembled but not painted... so they may be a tad klugey for a bit! :D
  19. This pretty much sums up my feelings. Throw on top of that the fact that this is the first time entire armies have been obsoleted and made unplayable by a new edition and you get further ill will from the existing player base. They could have easily created stopgap MW lists/conversion for V4 in parallel with the new official V4 lists to be released on a slower cadence. That's what they did for EW and LW. They chose not to do that, though...
  20. Check out the WWPD entry - it goes through things in more detail. http://www.wwpd.net/2017/02/afrika-korps-for-v4-previewed-and.html Basically you can only take a tiny fraction of the German stuff that was in the North African lists from the previous version at this point...
  21. WWPD recently published a review on the V4 lists. I've added my own thoughts on my blog... here's the summary: This is the Afrika Korps (GEAB02) This is the Afrika Korps on V4 Not pretty... http://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2017/02/flames-of-war-v4-lists-wheres-beef.html
