Thanks for the feedback. I asked because I recently had the chance to trade for one, but I wasn't really sure I wanted him in the army. I have a ton of stuff for the Empire, so I will pass. I'm going to be playing Ogres anyhow, but the same applies to Ogres. Sounds like I want the leaders safely ensconced in larger units.

The empire has Karl Franz and a few other characters availible on mounts. I've heard that they are a risk to take because they die easily to cannon fire and such. I was wondering what the feelings were regarding that, do empire players avoid these as risky point sinks that die to warmachines?

So I actually enjoy painting and modelling my armies. I am glad to have a force with so many models that are finished, so I can start to play with it right away, but I am also pleased that so much of it still isn't finished. Some of what I have needs to have finishing touches done to it, such as inking and highlights, while others need to have chipped paint fixed and so forth. My goal is to come up with a tribal history for my Ogres that blends the backgrounds of the Ogres with those of the Wolfen models I have. I am not seeking to tap Rackham's Confrontation game, I know nothing about it, but rather have a history that is wholely Warhammer, while inclusive of a new race of giant humanoids. Once I have a background I can work on consolidating the armies and figuring out the paint for the rest of my force.

Ok, here is the last of my GW armies that I traded for, I am now at equilibrium. About a month and a half ago I initiated a trade with a fellow over in Austria for his large Ogre Kingdoms army. I am getting into WHFB and OK were my first choice, but since then I have traded off six WM?H factions to get armies in both WHFB and 40K. So my Ogres army did arrive today. It wasn't packed well, but most of the models are repairable. Any idea how to get a female maneater head?? My Ogre Kindgoms army has just arrived! Been waiting on them for over a month. I will be running them this weekend. :)

I would like to attend this. If my Ogres arrive in time I will use them, otherwise it will be TK. What time do you guys start on Sunday?

I have found a solution for this from across the pond.

I can see this being a serious issue for tournaments and organized play, but it has been said before and I think this proves the point, GW is not concerned about such types of play. They publish for the gamer, not the tournament scene. It is a basic game philosophy difference between them and companies like PPress who recognize that a core aspect of thier business is organized play and make balanced play a focus in development (with varying success). As a garage gamer, I like not knowing everything (like I ever could anyhow) about the game. Surprises are fun. I trust the guys I game with though to play fair.

Well I am sorta limited to the models on hand. I have, I think, one old autocannon left that I could pull the cadians off of and put stormtroopers on, but I'd need to get a second. As for shotguns, I have no way to model that, and why would I want to assault with guard when I have knights on the table?

So I have 18 headless, armless bodies from the dreamforge line, two valkyries, and five plasma guns because Dagna is a very cool guy. I also have coming to me in the mail one box of 20 Dreamforge Stormtroopers and the stormtrooper assessories kit. With the Two Valkyries this is the core of my IG allies for my GK army. I'd like to get three chimeras too. I am thinking of getting one more set of 20 Stormtroops. Maybe. Anyhow, with the things I have, I am thinking of this and am looking for some input on how to build out the models. I'm thinking the first 20 model kit will just be two standard squads, sergents with chainswords and laspistols, and a missile launcher/flamer loadout. These can also double as Imperial Stormtroops wiht thier hot lasguns and such as needed. Out of the assessories kit + 18 torsos I will build a platoon command squad with a Sergent and two missle launcher teams to be held back field for sniping. Out of the assessories kit + 18 I will build a HQ command squad with a company commander w/ plas pistol, and 4 vets with plasguns. Then I will trade for three more plasguns and build three more guys wit them so that I can make two vet squads with 4 plasguns if I wish. Does this make sense? Do I need the second box of Dreamforge models for the option to make another platoon?
