I'd say the Avatar is pretty unnecessary since they are only used in the campaign games (or as an Emissary). It's far more important to get the base crew followed by a few models that synergize a bit.

No worries. We get together at my place most every Friday. Lately it has been lots of board games, but like I said, I want to get some Malifaux in soon.

Certainly not all terrain is equal, but we have a lot of options as we have been playing 40k/Fantasy since the late 80's. Some 40k stuff works surprisingly well as oddball steampunky or ancient artifacts. We also have some old westy stuff we got more specifically for Malifaux. We are getting together for Boardgames on Friday if you want to swing by and meet the crew.

Pretty much if anyone ever cold calls you wanting to help/fix/sell anything computer related, tell them to go to hell. No Legit customer support will cold call you.

Lebanon-land has 4 Malifauxers. We haven't been playing much lately but I am trying to convince the guys to get to it. Also, I work in Corvallis-land. For terrain we just use all the stuff we have build up over years of playing Warhammer. We usually just set up a thematic table and call it a day. Don't use the charts much, but sometimes.

You heard me! RAW totally supports my argument and the game designers intended it to be my way. Why don't you just go back to playing Shoots and Ladders like the 5 year old you act like?

Back to my question, I am just having a hard time seeing that the ships with black dice instead of blue are any good comparatively. I know the black dice are pretty nasty, but the range is seriously detrimental to effectiveness. I haven't done much with upgrades yet, andvI am sure that they will be helpful, but since they both work either type of dice, it is hard to see them altering the base difference in the ships much. I probably just need more games in to start getting it down, but I haven't had tons of time. -

That stinks, I have thrown down a few games with my local crew that have been pretty fun, but we are not playing competitively, So far I have gotten great deals on two of each wave one ship other than having only one Gladiator. I also picked up the Wave Two squadrons. -

So I notice that many of ships A and B options differ by only a number of black die versus a number of blue die. The Black die variants are cheaper and not that I have much experience but I am guessing harder to use due to shorter optimal range. How do people who have played a bit feel about the difference between the two options?
