  3. Okay, so I'm not quite done with my post-apocalypse terrain. Below are some WIP barriers and 'dormant ordnance' markers. I saw Warsenal's Dark Age Scrounger Outpost and couldn't resist. It will make a fantastic centerpiece and an excellent fortification for the Little Slice of Heaven scenario. It's an interesting kit. Most of the components are MDF, but it also includes parts punched-out of a 1.5mm acrylic sheet, and even a small piece of cloth (not pictured), that serves as an awning. The acrylic parts are used for the flexible components (e.g. the roofs), customized plating, and to add depth to flat surfaces, like the floors and roofing. I wish they hadn't elected to use transparent acrylic sheeting. Once you punch-out the small acrylic plates, they are easy to lose on your workbench.
  4. Below is another batch of questions answered by Joey McGuire. If a model with the Gung Ho ability is taken out-of-action, but the game ends before the model’s next activation, during the End of Game Sequence, is that model treated as having gone out-of-action? Yes, being taken out of action triggered the ability, he just missed his chance to hang around an extra turn. If a shiny object was not used during normal game play, may it’s reroll be use in the End of Game Sequence for resolving Wasteland Encounter stat tests? No, it's only useful during in-game. Otherwise it would have to be priced much more expensively. If a reroll granted by an Advantage is not used during normal game play, may it be used in the End of Game Sequence for rolling on the Survival Table, Advancements, Obtaining Relics, or for resolving Wasteland Encounter tests? Tough call on this one and honestly, I could go either way. I would probably lean towards yes, but I would only allow one to be used. When a Ripwinds or Dangerous Gases template scatters are models in the path of the moving template “touched” or only those models that end up under the template when the template has been moved to its new location? For simplicity's sake, I would only count the models that are under the template's final position to be affected. Subsection 1 of the Creature Activations rule states that a creature will always charge a model it can see, but unlike Subsection 3, it does not state that the controlling player Is permitted to choose the target model from among the eligible targets. Did you intend for the creature to charge the closest model it can see, a random model it can see, or does the controlling player get to make this decision? Controlling player makes the decision. A Sacrificial Lamb does not automatically explode if taken out-of-action. As such, if a Sacrificial Lamb is taken out-of-action and subsequently receives the Dead result on the Survival Table, is that model automatically replaced at the beginning of the next game? No, because technically it did not blow up. However, this should not really happen as the controlling player may detonate the sacrificial lamb remotely, even if it’s taken out-of-action. Players have found that lamb corpses make excellent landmines. :) Just remind your player to blow up the lamb before the end of game and you should be fine. Assuming that the model survives, may a model that was taken out-of-action be sent into the wasteland to search for income? Yes Assuming that the model survives, does Tribal Scout or Veteran Scout that was taken out-of-action confer its Wasteland Deck redraw bonus to its warband? Yes If a model uses its first AP to successfully use the Levitate power, may it then use its second AP to extend the distance of its flight by a distance equal to its Move characteristic without having to ‘cast’ Levitate for a second time? I was going to say no, but then I reread the section and it implies that the model must land at the end of its turn, and not after using its action to move. So yes, yes they can. :) The grenade launcher has the Deviate (capital D) rule, but Deviate is not defined under the Ranged Weapon Abilities. I assume that Deviate refers to the grenade rules for deviation, correct? Aside from grenades and the grenade launcher, do any of the other range weapons with the Blast rule deviate? Deviate is not really a rule, but just a shorthand the for the fourth subparagraph underneath the Using Grenades section on page 54. At this time, no other weapons deviate that I can recall.
  5. Someone please provide me D10 (or randomly generated numbers 1-10) advancements for: great shaman tribal scout tribal warrior tribal warbeast mutant 1 mutant 2 mutant 3 warbringer Thanks
  6. I'd be up for an extension. If more people want to play I'd be up for a reboot as well. Also, post campaign, what do my fellow campaigners think about dedicating at least one Tuesday a month to TNT? For those of us who need makeup games, is anyone free this Saturday at noon? It'd like try out the Pest Control scenario.

  8. Now that my TNT terrain is mostly done, it's time to get to work on my warbands. My Tribals are my primary warband, but my mutants look like they will be much more fun to paint, so I may start with them. I still haven't decided. Below is what my Tribals look like after 3 games. I started the campaign with 9 models and have since lost and replaced 3 KIA models. I've also added an additional War Bringer and a Tribal. During the campaign phase of game 3, I drew the 'Can We Keep It' card and added 3 Wild Mutants to my warband. These mutants are represented as feral children with hidden mutations (2 have electric aura and 1 caustic blood). I used Wyrd Miniatures' 'The Stolen' minis and armed them with weapons from a Reaper Miniatures' weapon sprue. Left to right, back to front. Max (Bounty Hunter), Crazy Jack (Tribal Scout), Brother Coyote (Great Shaman), War Bringer (War Bringer), Black Cloud (War Bringer) Broken Toes (Tribal Warrior), Breaks Bows (Tribal Warrior), Hawk (Tribal), Yazzie (Tribal) Short Tooth (Warbeast), Blue Dog (Warbeast), Lynx (Wild Mutant), Ocelot (Wild Mutant), Bobcat (Wild Mutant) I'm still not 100% satisfied with my first attempt at a War Bringer armed with a missile launcher, so I went back the the drawing board. This fella is one of Westwind's Crow Dog minis. The mini is between 28mm "pulp" and 28mm "fine" scale, so it is too small for an Anvil RPG launcher. Instead, I replaced its shotgun with a Reaper Miniature's bazooka and added a cut down Anvil rocket propelled grenade to the muzzle. This model's face was a bit malformed (bad cast), so I performed reconstructive surgery with GS.
  9. D_Lo, I'll be at Dark Tower around 4 pm.
  10. I've always hated painting vehicles and these old wrecks are no exception. Bleh! Nonetheless, I was eager to get them done, along with the Walking Dead barriers, so that I no longer need to use unpainted terrain. There are still a few pieces I want to add to my 4' x 4' apocalypse table, but for the most part it's done.
  11. Joey, what is tomorrow's scenario?
  12. The turnover mechanic is fun, although I tend to get ahead of myself and I keep trying to roll to-wound with ranged hits prior to failing an activation test. Doh! I've also been forgetting to compare my Warband Cost to my opponent's for the purpose of buying Advantages. Doh! Doh! If anyone would like to get a game in this Sunday or Monday, let me know. My Tribals need a make-up game and my Mutants (which I'm running as a ringer warband), need 3 games.
  13. I sent Joey McGuire, the author of TNT, an email, asking him for rules clarifications. Some of them seem obvious, but because there is no mention of them in the rule book, I wanted confirmation. Below is his reply. Glad you are enjoying the game. Let me see if I can sort you out. One caveat for you though. These are my answers, but though I wrote the rules, I don't know your local scene. It's always best to agree with your fellow players to interpret the rules that works best for your group. That being said: Is it correct to assume that distance between models are measured from base to base? Measuring is base to base, as this is the easiest method. Is it correct to assume that a model’s base is used to determine whether it is either partially or fully covered by a template? Yes, you use the models base to determine if its full under a template. One note here that this assumes you are using 25mm sized bases for normal size models. You may need to be a little more forgiving if your models are based on larger Warmachine style ones. May models move through friendly models? You may move freely through friendly models. If a model is within range of multiple models with vampiric drain, is its defense reduced by one for each vampiric drain aura? Vampiric drain is cumulative with other models that have it. Are models with the vampiric drain mutation themselves immune to the effects of vampiric drain (both from their own aura and those created by others), in the same way models with the radioactive mutation are immune to radiation? A model with vampiric drain is immune to its own aura, but not from the auras of other models that have it. It's only fair. Note I may change my mind on this in the future, but this is my first though on this one. If creatures join a warband via the 'Can We Keep It' wasteland deck card, what is the creatures rank? What categories of skills are available to these models? A Can We Keep It creature would count as a rank and file. Generally, the skillset would depend on the creature, but for most it would be Melee, Survival, then either Agility or Strength (your choice). If a model fails a morale check prior to activating, when the model activates does it get its normal AP? Falling back does not affect the future model's activation in anyway. If a model fails a morale check prior to activating, when the model activates does it count as if it has moved that turn, thus preventing it from using Move or Fire weapons? To keep things simple, if a model falls back, this does not count as movement for the purposes of firing any weapons or other abilities. Can a model ever rid itself of the Rag-Tag rule (e.g. via promotion)? No, a model cannot remove Rag-Tag. For now anyway. The next book, which will be out within the next two months, will change that formally. The potential S6 hit from the electric shock mutation is resolved before any actions are performed by either model. Does the same rule hold true for the Spikes mutation? Spikes acts differently than electric shock. The latter involves the model already being attacked when it occurs, so you would resolve the test for spikes after the attack; both models may well end up dying. Since ranged modifiers apply to psychic ranged attacks, can a psychic receive bonuses by concentrating and using Marksmanship skills? The use of ranged skills and concentration being applied to psychic attacks is a bit touchy since psychic attacks are pretty powerful, especially for model's with a high Mettle. In our local group, we say no. If a psychic can target a model it cannot see, for the purpose of making a psychic ranged attack, how is cover determined for a target who is behind a linear obstacle? In other words, what direction does the attack come from? A model using a psychic attack does not need actual line of sight to attack, but you would still draw a line between the attacker and target to see how to apply cover. I would use the type of cover that is blocking line of sight to determine what actual cover the targeted model gets. When a model that was taken out of action is revived by use of the medic rule, does the revived model return to play prone? Also, does the revived model receive its normal AP for that turn? A model brought back by a medic is indeed brought back prone. They may also activate normally the turn the come back. In the Cold Vengeance scenario, if a Peacekeeper player elects to detonate a Sacrificial Lamb, does that detonation count as firing a shot? For Cold Vengeance, I would count setting off a Sacrificial Lamb as firing a shot.
  14. It's time to add a second Warbringer to my Tribal warband. This model is an Apache from Black Scorpion Miniatures' Tombstone line. I've replaced the model's original weapon and arms with the Anvil Industry's RPG launcher bits. Like Fireforge and North Star, Black Scorpion uses the a material similar to GW's "Finecast" resin. I don't know if Black Scorpion has higher quality control standards or a more skillful manufacturer, but based upon experience with all three manufacturers, Black Scorpion does the best job of working with this awful material. There's still bubbles and malformed detail, but not to the point where I feel that I've been cheated. Black Scorpions' minis are 32mm. Most of the minis in my Tribal warband are 28mm 'fine' scale. Since my new Warbringer is on one knee, the difference in scale isn't quite as obvious. If you do a side-by-side comparison, he still looks pretty big, so I've named Big Feet.
  15. I realized after our game that Crazy Jack, my Tribal Scout, has two wounds, so he wasn't taken out-of-action by your accursed Road Marshal (who still gets the xps though for wounding him). Since he wasn't taken out-of-action, Crazy Jack did not suffer the Reckless injury (no frenzy for me). After he got zapped by your Road Marshal's plasma gun, Crazy Jack must have decided that he needed to lie down and take a mid-battle snooze.
  16. Ha! Unlike those Zulus, my tribals are well armed. Even my wild mutant feral children have rifles.
  17. With the addition of the 3 wild mutant children (Bobcat, Lynx, & Ocelot) and a Sawbones (Doctor Everett), the Salish Nation now numbers 14 warriors. We are legion!
