  1. More progress on Operation Block Line of Sight. Each Crooked Dice barricade set includes two long barricades and one short barricade. I bought two sets, so I had six barricades to work with. The horizontal leg of the supports are short, so the barricades are a bit wobbly. I fixed this by mounting the barricades on styrene bases. By matching each short barricade with a long barricade, I was able to create two longer barricades. The two remaining long barricades were mounted on separate bases, giving me four barricades in total. Once again, I used the hazard signs to break up the large flat spaces and add a bit more color to the terrain.
  2. SAGA NEW EDITION – INTERVIEW ALEX BUCHEL
  3. I have compiled and organized all of the questions Joey McGuire has answered for me via email correspondence. I've attached it to this post as a Word doc. Sorry, my pdf version is too large to attach to this post. TNT Q&A.docx
  4. Here's the latest round of Q&A from Joey McGuire. Model X is hit by a ranged shot and then, prior to initiative passing, a model with Vampiric Aura (or similar ability that reduces Def), moves to within 4” of Model X. When initiative passes, does Model X make its Weapon Strength vs Def test at a penalty or is the Def penalty ignored (for that shot), because the ranged shot occurred before Model X’s Def was reduced by the Vampiric Aura? I would aim at keeping this simple. Since we only resolved hits when play passes, I would apply all relevant effects active at that time. So I would apply the penalty from Vampiric. Is it safe to assume that a model with the Motivator skill does not receive the +1 bonus to its own Activation rolls? Quite right. Does a ranged weapon equipped with Pre-Fall ammo receive the range bonus from the Range Finder skill? Yes since the weapon itself is not a relic. If a model is armed with a grenade launcher and multiple grenade types, may that model switch between grenade types during a game, in the same way a missile launcher may switch between anti-armor and anti-personnel missiles? Yes. If a model is armed with a grenade launcher an multiple grenade types, does it make only one Limited Ammo roll and apply the result to the total number of shots it can make during the scenario, or does it make a separate Limited Ammo roll for each grenade type and use the sum of the rolls to determine the number of shots it can make with each grenade type during a scenario? I would say once for each type, a benefit to buying alternative rounds. May a model that is ‘locked in combat’ spend an AP to perform a non-combat related stat-test, such as making a strength test to destroy a zombie nest? As long as it’s not expressly forbidden by the rules for Base Contact under the Melee section, generally speaking, I would allow it. In this instance, I see the mission to destroy the nest, may override the model's personal safety. That being said, I would agree with your fellow players to disallow certain actions that while may not break the rules per se, may not make sense. If a psychic protected by Mind Shield starts its activation ‘locked in combat’ is it permitted to make a Will test to “maintain concentration”? I would allow this as it is not expressly forbidden. Does failing a Stun or Knockout survival test prevent a psychic protected by Mind Shield from making a Will test to “maintain concentration”? A definitive yes as they are not conscious. May a model charge two models simultaneously if it can end its move in base-to-base contact with both enemy models? Yes. If a model is taken out-of-action in melee, does fallen model remain in base contact with model who took it out-of-action? I would say yes if the killing models wants them to be, say to make it easier to loot the model. May a model with the Medic ability (or Healing Touch) revive a fallen model that is in base-to-base contact with an enemy model? If so, is the now-prone revived model treated as being in base-to-base contact with said enemy model? Now this one is a bit of a pickle, but I would say yes to both. Can model with the Natural Weapons rule (e.g. Feral Mutants) wield melee or ranged weapons? Yes If a model fails a graze test, does it have to move away from the shooter to seek cover, or can it make it’s 3” move to cover in such a way that it brings the model closer to the shooter? The model will go to the nearest cover that takes it further away from the shooter if possible. If the only cover is closer, than it can move closer. The main caveat is that it ends up in cover. Does armor help protect models from the hits inflicted by any of the following Hazards, and if so, does one use the armor’s melee or ranged bonus? 1 Calamitous Storm 2 Dormant Ordnance 3 Emberquake 4 Ripwinds Good questions. Since all of these involved some type of velocity strike, I would allow ranged to apply.
  5. A friend has sent me the Zombicide Black Plague Game Night Kit #1. Included in this kit are 11 exclusive/limited edition Bruce figures (my friend gave 3 away to others), along with survivor cards and packs of extra base counters. To thank the Warhamsters for welcoming me into their gaming community, I want to give away 9 of these little guys. My only stipulations are: (1) one figure per household, and (2) that you actually want the figure for it's intended purpose (i.e. playing ZBP), not for selling on eBay. I'm relying on the honor system, so please don't disappoint me. I will bring my Box-O-Bruces with me to the next Tabletop Night on Tuesday, September 26th. It's first come first serve, and to keep the distribution simple, I will not reserve models. If you want one, show up Tuesday night and ask me.
  6. Last night was another make-up night, so yes. :)
  7. International rabbit trafficking? Sounds pretty shady to me.
  8. Last week was a make -up week, so this week is the official "week 4." I believe that Joey has agreed to extending the mini-campaign to 5 weeks. Scipiano and I want to continue playing TNT after the campaign. I don't know about the others.
  9. LINKY Compiling what we know (or think we know) from the teaser video... This is a whole new edition of SAGA. Not a supplement that compiles and updates the rules the way The Crescent & The Cross did. This implies there could be anything from minor to major changes to the core rules mechanics. A single core rule book that will cover overarching rules for all settings. Multiple SAGA Universe source books that will cover all factions within each setting. A compendium of scenarios and "additional rules." I'm sure future additions are possible and probably likely. The mention of Joan of Arc implies a medieval era (100 Years War) and/or setting. The mention of Achilles implies an ancients era and/or setting. More "legendary" (not quite historical) heroes (Achilles, Beowulf) will join the mix. Myth and monsters??? The new edition is expected to be released sometime in 2018
  10. I spent some time this weekend working on my terrain. First, I finished my Dormant Ordnance markers and my Zombie Nest. I haven't decided if I'm going to add clumps of grass to the nests. Below is my progress on operation Block Line of Sight. I printed the signs on normal printer paper, glued them in place, and hit them with some Agrax to 'dirty them up' -easy peasy.
  11. I just ordered some 3 scrap walls and 6 sheet metal barricades from Crooked Dice Miniatures. This should give us even more places to hide our minis. Mine won't be painted this well, but I think I will use them to add a bit more color to my board.
  12. Thanks. My current Warband Cost is 1008. Crazy! Have you guys been calculating your warband cost (rating) correctly? It's each model's base cost + cost of all that model's equipment (whether you paid for that equipment or not) + 5 for each advance (10 if the advance was wound or mettle) Relics count toward this number, whether they are being used or in your inventory. Also, according to the official errata on the Worlds End Publishing website, the current "cost" of a model's armor is how much it would cost to buy the armor at your model's current number of wounds. So, if you bought Combat Armor when the model was at one wound, but now the model has 2 wounds, it's cost (for purposes of calculating Warband Cost) is 15, not 10.
  13. Thanks. Because of all the windows there's not enough places where a model can be placed completely out of sight. To remedy this I am going to paint some boards to put over some of the windows. This will break up some of the grey stone on the buildings and make it easier for models to move about the board.
  14. Thanks to D_Lo's amazing Game #5 advance rolls for my Tribals , a number of my models gained an extra wound. However, what I failed to realize at the time is that the Stat Increase rule doesn't allow Rank & File to gain extra wounds. Also, because my Tribal Scout is a Specialist, he cannot gain a 3rd wound. Oops. Fortunately, since my advances were recorded here, I was able to go back and make the proper adjustments. With that said, I have more advances. Like Sherbert and Scipiano, I raked in a lot of XPs for killing all those zombies. Someone, please generate a number between 1 and 10 for each of the following models. Thanks. Great Shaman Warbringer Tribal Scout Bounty Hunter Tribal Warrior Warbeast Warbeast Tribal Mutant #2
  15. Beautiful! The metal parts are superb. You are a talented painter.
  16. Excuses excuses. Since a third of our number will be out this week, how about we use Tuesday night to make up games from the first three weeks? I know that D_Lo, Sherbert, and I have games to make up. Scipiano probably needs to make up one as well.
  17. After a skirmish against a band of Preserves, my mutants stumbled upon a looted gun shop. Brother Ne spotted a box of ammo on the floor, beneath a partially collapsed support beam. He managed to shift the beam without bringing down the ceiling and was rewarded with Pre-Fall Ammo relic. Meanwhile, my Feral Mutant, Brother Ick, had spotted something shiny in Pre-Fall porta potty. When he reached down to fish it out, he slipped, and ended up submerged tank of hundred year old excrement. He now suffers a -1 penalty to all stat test during the next Game. Brother Ick, indeed. After cashing in the bounty on the Rad-Zombies my warband destroyed, I cobbled together enough barter script to hire an Alpha Mutant to serve as second in command. This newest disciple, known simply as The Deacon, is equipped with an assault rifle and the pre-fall ammo that Brother Ne retrieved from the old gun shop. Assembling a model for this new recruit was quite simple. Put Necromunda Redemption mode on base, add a plastic belt pouch to rear of model, and voila! I will need to hire another Rank & File model in order to hire a third Specialist. I don't yet have the barter script to do this, but in anticipation of this, I assembled another cultist. I ran out of suitable plastic cultist bodies, so I used a body from the Frostgrave soldier sprue. The arms come from the North Star cultist sci-fi weapons kit (I removed the original gun), and the assault rifle was made by Anvil Industries.
  18. I've added rings of cratered earth to my dormant ordnance markers. I converted a Necromunda Redemptionist Deacon into a Mondo (i.e. a big, dumb mutant), for my mutant cultist warband. The arms come from the Frostgrave barbarian sprue. Models with the Large rule are supposed to be 8' tall, so to add some height to the model, I snipped off its little feet and added some boots from a plastic GW Guardsman.
  19. One works for me. See you there.
  20. Cool. Saturday at noon. If anyone else wants to join us, feel free. If there's an odd number of players we can play a three-way.
