  1. Before I got my last vanguard and sternguard, I was at 27800 for my primary army, 12k for my das, 6 k for my iw, 2k for my nl, 2k for my bl, and that is without my fortifications.
  2. Beading boxes. Cheap, and you can assemble model specific partitions for projects
  3. Does anyone have a tool they use for organizing their collections? I have somewhere over 60000 points of stuff primed, most of it painted, divided between several armies. I'm starting to photo-document for reference, but I'm wondering if anyone has a pre-existing template they use? If not, I can go ahead and make my own. I realize I'm a bit more rigid than a lot of people on this kind of issue, but my armies broadly fall in to Imperial Marines (Codex, DA, some BTs) and Chaos Marines (Iron Warriers, Night Lords, Black Legion). The guy I game with most often has Chaos Marines, Chaos Demons, and Guard. To match the size of my imperial forces for Apocalypse games, he normally borrows from my Chaos stuff, so this is partially so I can give him a reference for what I have painted and available.
  4. Getting an Aquila Strongpoint for my birthday. Last year it was a Fortress of Redemption She rocks. That is all.
  5. Haha! By the power of photobucket, BFB's ongoing NL project: http://s128.photobucket.com/user/BrainFireBob/library/#/user/BrainFireBob/library/Night%20Lords?sort=3&page=1&_suid=14103217738900374759765529974 Complete: 2 Troop squads 1 Jump Pack Lord 1 Jump Pack Sorcerer 1 Bike Lord 6/20 Raptors 3/10 Bikes 0/3 Rhinos 0/10 Chosen

  7. Been thinking about this too. Wondering if Belial +10 termies would work for maelstrom. Assault cannons?
  8. Why? You declare that the squad is shooting target a, then split fire the cyclone. No requirement they have guns.
  9. Allright, having some trouble posting pics. Will try again later. So far, both Troops done. Lord done. Raptors 25% done. This project was started when these were the current raptors! I progress more slowly than I should.
  10. Finally finished my second squad.of Night Lords:
  11. That's what I see too, Pax. Which is OK, but I rather liked some of what was added to the Knights. Ah, well. 40k- swings and roundabouts. Regarding BAs, my concern is more that they aren't out yet, and that GKs appeared to have received no new models whatsoever. Their performance aside, I really liked the aesthetic of the newer BA kits, and was hoping to see more along those lines.
  12. Mulling over this, it sounds like GKs have been reduced from an army in their own right to a synergy detachment with other Imperial forces, like Knights, Inquisitors, or Assassins. This works for me personally, since I had essentially a squad and HQ, but I feel for those who lost their army. GK players already had their slog-through period mid-00s. I am getting concerned about BAs, though.
  13. What's a good site for 7th Edition? I only have 6th on the site I'm referencing.
  14. Eh, think it might work for BTs.
  15. If not for CoC, I'd agree with you. As it stands, most unit champions are facing 1W models. Wounds (Assuming base Aspiring Champ WS 4 Str 4 Attacks 2 has bolt pistol) vs. WS4/5 T4 3+ Charged Charging Claw: 0.75 1.125 Sword: 0.75 1 vs. WS4/5 T5 3+ Claw: 0.44 0.67 Sword: 0.33 0.66 I don't know about you, but that covers the bulk of what I face. Claw's better for my purposes at the same cost. The axe is on units that accompany HQs, so there are multiple options available- or in the odd case I'm brangling with assault terminators.
  16. Given Champions of Chaos, I am moving my champs to 1 lightning claw or power axe + m. Bombs
  17. So, Strike Force Ultra. I'm interested in the Ven Dread and Captain in termie armor. I have everything else in numbers such that I don't need more. Anyone interested in splitting the box? It's $325 for 2 Close Combat terminator squad $50/each 2 regular terminator squads $50/each 1 LR (Looks like it's got the parts for all three variants) $75 1 Storm Raven $82 1 Captain in Terminator Armor NA- comparable figures are $20-$30 1 Venerable Dread $46 Box value: $423-$424 They have at least 1 in stock at Rainy Day. Starting, I'm thinking of pitching in $65 for what I want. Means it's $260 for the Termies, Raven, and LR- or the Raven is free and the LR is cheap. All I'm interested in is the Captain and Ven Dread. Truth, all I really want is the captain, but I have room for another dread. My friends involved in the game play SW (blowing his budget on a few Sanctus sets) Chaos, IG, and Necrons- no-one else would be interested. Willing to do this up to three ways- speak up if interested.
  18. Fair question. Personally, I have one huge army (28k points SM) and several smaller (14k Chaos, 8 k DA). I always bring at least two armies. I frequently loan models of approximately the right size to proxy- granted, I don't have any Knights or such, but it's worked out for me.
  19. Thinking about swinging in to Rainy Day on Sunday. That still 40K night? What's the tenor of the store like?
  20. Thought I'd done this since the last changeover. Username: BrainFireBob (Jason) Forces Owned: Codex: SM (20k), Codex: DA (7k), Codex: CSM (Iron Warriors 6k, Night Lords 2k, Black Legion 2k) Available: Weekends, some week nights Location: Hillsboro, OR Game Location: Rainy Day, Guardian, at home (Terrain skewed toward fortifications) Preferred Contact Method: PM Forgeworld: Yes, but bring your rules (Printouts fine) Escalation: Y Apoc: Y
  21. Wait. Grey Knight Terminators with force swords have the following statline with Hammerhand? Did I read this right? S6 T4 3+/4++ AP3?
