  1. What makes you say that? Seems pretty consistent with the CA books I've purchased in the past. Also, Blood of Kittens has $250 listed as the price of the starter box, though I don't know where this number game from ("grain of salt" and all that). If that's true, which I'm inclined to say it is, still seems to be a good value, but a bit of a blow for people expecting a $160 price tag like Dark Imperium.
  2. They said on a preview that the Indominus box would be out in "July," but no other specifics at this point.
  3. So I've got almost everything that I need for my Sisters of Battle army that I'm starting up for 9th, EXCEPT MY 3RD TROOP CHOICE. Everyone seems to be out of the basic Battle Sister Squad box, and I'm not able to order it locally or through GW, and not wanting to spend $100 for them on Ebay. So I'm looking for 5 Sisters to finish off my 1500 point list. Ideally it would be 1 Sister Sargent (Superior?) with a chainsword and 4 Sisters with Bolters, but 5 Bolter Sisters will do just fine. Don't care if they are assembled, prefer not painted but I will make it work if need be. From the starer box is fine too. Just looking for current plastic though, to match the rest of the army. Have paypal at the ready, happy to pay for shipping too if need be. Thanks!
  4. Always wanted to play it, thought the models looked amazing.
  5. Hmmm, interesting point about the Penitent Engines. I just ordered two boxes with the intent on using them as Mortifiers, I wonder if the changes to how flamers work in combat warrants taking the Engines instead now, even though Mv 7 vs Mv9 still sucks...
  6. Planning on doing a hard pivot for 9th to Sisters of Battle, and so am looking to sell me Necrons to fund this. I have: 23 Warriors 20 Immortals (Tesla) 9 Wraiths (6 complete, 3 partial) 5 Triarch Praetorians 7 Scarab Swarms Night Scythe Annihilation Barge 2 Anrakyr the Traveller 1 Lord / Overlord (From Command Barge set) Codex Retail is like $640, asking $200 for the lot. You can see pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/yTfpbdi There are a few things I'll give a heads up for the army, but I still think they are very much priced more than fairly: -The Triarch Praetorians do not have their Triarch Praetorian heads. I originally had some Deathmarks in the army when I received it that I converted into Immortals, but I didn't have the Immortal heads, so I took the Praetorian heads and used them, since they were similar. I do have the Lycheguard heads you could use, if not having the "right" heads doesn't bother you, or you could nab a set of Immortal heads from a bitz site and call it good. -Some of the Immortlas (2 I believe) do not have the round tip for their Tesla guns. 1 Immortal is missing a head. -6 of the Wraiths are "Complete;" 1 new on sprue, 3 built and 100%, 1 built and missing a front let (I have it on sprue), 1 built and missing a front let (can take from a "partial" Wraith). The other 3 Wraiths are missing some of their legs, which is a bummer, but I think they are serviceable, as everything thing else is there (bodies, coils, heads) Maybe stuff that can be found through a bitz site, or press mold from the on sprue Wraith? I can get closer pictures on request. -Most of this army is painted, not by me. I feel it definitely warrants a repaint, but I'll let you be the judge!
  7. Totally agree, why they didn't go this route I'll never know. The realist in me says they didn't want to have to put out the kits with all the same options that the normal Tac squad gets, or to put them all out at once (might look odd if you released Primaris-sized Tac Marine but had normal sized Assault / Devestator / etc Marines?). The cynic in me says they had to make them different enough that people wouldn't say "I already have enough regular Marines, I don't need to buy these true-scale ones."
  8. I probably spent a week straight last summer listening to this video and the "Bold Brothas" video. Is the grim darkness of the far future, there is only jamz.
  9. Sorry, didn't mean for my response to sound rude if it came across that way! For some reason I always misremember that the discount is 10% for over $200 (so like a 2% discount after tax), instead of the actual 15%, heh. Definitely down to figure something out though!
  10. Not a single mention of a highway in either of your quotes. You GW apologists are all the same! Also, Noise Marine guitar solo > Bobby G.
  11. I don't see where it says a model can end it's movement on a flyer's base, so their standard base still seems to serve a purpose? It seems that, as I read it, a flyer is still able to obstruct movement if you don't have enough room to more completely over the base? Also, very disappointed with this preview. Not disappointed with the rules or content, but I feel like GW had an extremely easy opportunity to make a "Highway to the Danger Zone" reference, and they didn't take it.
  12. Planning on getting a box if anyone needs the Marines. I will probably get rid of the Necron Warriors as well, already have a boat load.
  13. Have "finished" the Chaos Space Marine codex, at least for now. Three things I am still considering: -Add marks to Chaos Spawn? -Add variants to Land Raiders, consistent with Space Marines? -Give drop pod access? A few notes on my changes: -Removed random table for Possessed powers, you now get the choose one. -Tried to make Chaos Spawn suck less. -Added Traitor Legion traits. -Change Warptime to make it consistent with how EVERYONE played it pre-FAQ (FAQ made it useless). Might warrant a point increase? -Changed Daemon Weapon so that a 1 doesn't make you lose attacks. -Changed Chaos Dreadnought to be closer in line with loyalist one. Base model is 15 points cheaper than loyalist one, with one more attack and options for a 2nd DCCW, but still suffers from a toned-down "Crazed" chart (removed "Fire Frenzy" result) and does not have option for a drop pod. -Noise Marines sonic weapons prices reduced, Blasters are free, Blastmaster down to 20 points (from 40). -Thousand Sons Aspriing Sorcerer price reduced from 60 down to 40. -Obliterator Cult is now a 0-1 option, except for Iron Warriors, to encourage other options and to make Iron Warriors cool. You can check it out here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ybQ2C7QhSsxNLoSEBS0hZNWjcdtf4sK1T-vWhwM_M-s/edit?usp=sharing Long term goals would be to circle back and eventually add in the newer models to the army (Daemon Engines mostly). Appreciate any feedback! EDIT!: Forgot to add to the addendum that cult troops move from "Troops" slot to "Elite" slot, unless you take the corresponding Legion. Will add on my lunch break.
  14. 9th seems to be fixing a lot of issues I had with 8th, but 5th was the first edition I played (well, I played ONE game of 4th), so I'll always look fondly at it! I like the idea of an online rulebook (especially because I'm a 9th Age player), but I'm not sure what the legalities of that would be, posting a revised copy of the old rulebook. Plus I'm 100% not the guy who can put that together, as I'm absolutely no good with anything more complicated that Word and MSPaint, lol. That's mainly the reason I just did the redux as "addendums."
  15. All good questions. You can take a look at my link on the other page for what I've thought of for Daemons and CSMs, although CSMs are not finished, but will basically entail points drops for Noise Marine (free sonic weapons) and 1k Sons (Sorcerer goes way down) to make them more viable. No idea if these changes would be enough, but I think it's a start, and I think if nothing else the rules are a lot more fun. Grey Knights and Necrons would be nerfed accordingly. I have never played with or against Tau / Eldar / DA in 5th, so I'm not sure offhand how to bump up their power level. Adding in the newer units and codicies would be awesome and a long-term goal, but who knows when or if that will ever happen? Currently I work on this "when the mood strikes me" since it's pretty much a project just for me, as other aren't really interested (except for you @Navster). Which is totally fine, I'm not complaining or being passive-aggressive, just being realistic; I totally get people want to gear up for 9th; I'm right there with them too!
  16. I envision something like I outline on the CSM book (still a work in progress), where army slot reorganization (i.e. "bikers as troops") is done through chapter tactics rather than by taking a character. Same thing would be done for Chapter Traits: Taking White Scars would give you the ability to outflank ala Kor'Sarro Khan, without having to take him, but he himself would still confer the ability to give his unit Furious Charge and Hit and Run. Probably the only chapter that would need a tactic from the ground up would be Iron Hands, and it makes sense (to me at least) that they would get the "Dreadnoughts as HS slots" trait instead of the Master of the Forge giving it, along with maybe something else I would need to think of.
  17. One thing to note for this project is besides adjusting books that are overpowered, I also plan to give buffs to regular Space Marines, in the form of Chapter Tactics. Always happy to have suggestions though! My goal is the keep the core rules changes relatively small while being more heavy handed with the codicies.
  18. Ok, I had a little time to look over the books, these would be some initial ideas for the codex, keeping in mind that Blood Angels was one of the codicies that I was under the impression would need to be toned down (Grey Knights / Long Fangs, I'm looking at YOU as well):
  19. Honestly, I'm not really sure. I never played with or against Blood Angels, so I'd have to take a look through their codex. At the very least I was thinking that their Assault Marines should be in line with the regular SM Assault Marines, save for the BA special rules and maybe BA only weapons like Inferno Pistols, but I'd have to do a side by side comparison. ...If I ever get around to it, or advance the project any further than it is, heh.
  20. I see this sentiment posted a lot on Facebook, and I understand what people are saying, but to me it's not a handicap, it's just a *different* advantage. If a Battalion is the "basic" FOC, then you are paying CPs to break this restriction. Yes, I might more CPs, but you have X more HQ, heavy support choices, fast attack, etc. Plus we don't know how much the other detachments cost. If I have 1 or 2 more CPs than you because you took a patrol detachment, I think "hamstrung" and "suffering" might be a bit disingenuous.
  21. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/06/04/taking-command-of-your-pointsgw-homepage-post-1/ Detachments COST Command Points, rather than giving them, with the exception of the detachment that our Warlord is in, as long as it's a Patrol, Battalion, or Brigade. Love it. If you take a more old-school "mixed arms" Battalion type list, you get max command points. If you want to take that all Terminators / Carnifex' / whatever army, or add some allies, you can, but at a cost.
