I'm super excited for a 40k revamp. The game is still fun, but bloated by rules and outright broken in some areas. I'm hoping for a massive streamlining and a focus on smaller games, maybe the 1000pt mark becomes by the new norm.

I'm mulling something like this for OFCC. Yes, it's pure Skitarii. No, there is no grav. No, there is no war convocation. But I think it could be fun, look cool, and actually I think it could pack a punch. There's a lot of shooting in this list, albeit at a short range, which forces the army to move and shoot which is more fun than a gun line. What do people think? I'm really looking forward to attending this event this year. I'll be bringing Skitarii (with an obligatory HQ from Cult). It will be refreshing to build an out of the box list for an out of the box event.

Skitarri are normally on 28mm bases. I'd rather put them on 32s purely for aesthetic modeling reasons. If you were an opponent at a tournament, would you care?

From the Australia site: Cult Ambush rule: dependent on a dice roll, Genestealer Cults units can set up anywhere on the table, deploy and charge in the same turn, and burst from their hidden lairs to surprise and engulf the enemies of the Cult;

You build an army of 2000 pts. This is a combination of models you lay down at the start of the game, and a pool of summoning points. So for example 1500 pts that start the game, then 500pts of anything you want to summon. Healing units via raising previously slain models, so for example skeleton banners, do not take points.
