  1. Would there be interest in adding a 3 round ITC 40k event on the Friday of OFCC?
  2. Not only did no one submit a HoG proposal, I solicited three different people, and could find no one willing to run it.
  3. The event rate negotiated for the hotel should be $145. There may be a current issue with the Hilton computer recognizing the OFC event code. We're talking with Hilton. I'll let you know when it's resolved. But rest assured the room rate block is $145.
  4. Very well done event. AoS lends itself well to matched play, and is a far better system for it than 40k currently. We've borrowed some of the ideas from LVO in creating the event packet for OFCC's AoS event, as well as some lessons learned from that event with regards to house rules (that we frankly expect to see in the 2nd General's Handbook).
  5. I bow to your superior Google-Fu. I changed the website, test it out.
  6. No, your confusion was the same as mine when I went looking for a dedicated link to the hotel. But for the life of me, I can't find it. So the general Hilton site is the best we can do
  7. You're correct. I cannot find a link to the actual hotel. I'm not sure ol' Vancouver 'The Couv' Washington merits it's own dedicated site :)
  8. I love the book. Still going through it, but the some of the new ranger units, in conjunction with the allegiance ability army wide, really allow for some very fast and tactically fluid gameplay. The SCE are the masters of reactive redeployment. Lots of fun.
  9. No, absolutely not. We'd never do that
  10. I have two OFCC announcements! First, I'm proud to announce the launch of www.ofccgaming.com your source for OFCC ticket sales, room reservations, and event packet downloads. Ever struggled to tell a friend about OFCC, or direct them to the forums to learn more? Now you have a visual website to send them to. Check it out! Second, it is looking very likely that the 2017 OFCC will have official support from the British mothership.....yes, Games Workshop itself! I am in active contact with them, and am very hopeful. I have no idea what that would look like, but it's obviously very exciting, so stay tuned!

  13. It took us a while to figure out where FoW would best go in the line up this year, so I apologize for the delay. But I've notified Barca via PM that FoW is cleared for a Friday one-day tournament at $25.00 per player. We're excited to have FoW this year! I may have to bust out by mid-way Fins Barca is HoG for FoW, and I'll leave it to him, and the FoW community to decide on the particulars of the Friday event.
  14. I sent you a PM. It took a while to figure out where FoW was going to go in the lineup. We've resolved that, and FoW will be a 1-day event on Friday.
  15. Meaning a unit can only have one banner person, one musician, etc. You can't have three banner carriers in a unit.
  16. Because we will have an official 30K event going on those people wishing to play 30K lists are directed there. there should be an event packet published soon
  17. The event packet for Age of Sigmar at the OFCC is now available. You can find it here: www.ofccgaming.com just click the AoS icon. From that site you will also find links to buy your event tickets, as well as a link to the Hilton and the room block code. Event packets for other games will be published soon.
  18. So, at LVO i saw the Wrath of Kings models for the first time, and was blown away. I had to buy some just for the joy and challenge of painting them. But I'd like to find some small skirmish games to use them in, when I'm not using them in the actual wrath of kings game. Frostgrave seems like a great option, if people are playing it locally. What's going on in the PDX scene with this game?
  19. Yes paint prizes. Tickets will be on sale soon
  20. Everything at ofcc must be fully painted (3 color min) and based
  21. I like the list, and was noodling around with something very similar. I'm impressed by how many wounds you can get with 2000 points. My list came out to 163, which is about 20 more than most other lists I've made. Now granted, with only a 5+ save and bravery 6, you need lots of wounds. For what it's worth, I think Skyfires are too good not to field in a minimum of 6.
  22. I think it may be helpful, before this thread get's too far with "Can I bring XYZ" posts, to remind people about the "spirit" of the OFCC. This is not a tournament. There is no award for best general, or winning the most games. The most prestigious award is for sportsmanship. The purpose of this event is to roll dice in a fun, casual, friendly setting with new and old friends. It is about creating lists that will create close, fun, games - not lists to beat face. You should always ask yourself, would my opponent enjoy playing against this list? Will this make for a fun game? Am I taking this unit because of models, theme, and fun, or because it's allowing me a rules exploit or to gain some great advantage? The typical ITC curb stomp list should NEVER be seen at OFCC. This is not an event for barkstars (or any deathstar), massed warp spiders, flying circus, horror split summoning spam, white scar battle companies, war convocations, etc. Use OFCC to try out models and units that never see the table in competition. Use OFCC to build that cool themed army you've always wanted but isn't competitive. The rule of cool should always be prioritize over effectiveness on the table top.
