  1. Lol, sorry. You know someone somewhere is working on it :)
  2. Snorri takes shape :) Finished primer, main colors, and wash. I'll start the dry brushes and highlight passes tomorrow.
  3. War hammer 1990's'K! Watch out for the hell mouth!
  4. Love it :) I'll get his name on him somewhere :)
  5. That table is insane! :) I know for certain I'd end a game and be cleaning up and totally pull a, "holy crap I forgot that guy was even there" move. Keep it coming. P.s. I think the table should count for like 50 models :)
  6. I started a second pack member while the first was drying. While the space wolf power plant works, it feels a little 'light' compared to the primaris 1. I think I can live with it though :) They are the same size/scale, but the primaris one has a little more girth. The helm is from Burning of Prospero. It feels less tactical and more aggressive to me, right in line with the wolves background. They will probably feature and some of his brothers as well.
  7. Noticed some cool little details while drilling the barrel. The top has a 'rail' for adding sights/lights/misc to the gun, and the bottom has what looks like a bi-pod receiver if the bolter is used in a static firing position. Similar to modern firearms.
  8. From the tidbits I've read (B&C) they actually have Russ/the helix in them. I'm not sure if they were originally taken from fenris and put on ice, or if they are stock from another planet. If they are from elsewhere I'd imagine them to be similar to the original 'Terran' legions before they were reunited with their primogenitures. Either way they're wolves. They do what they want :) I plan to have a few beards running around in there :)
  9. Having picked up the starter box I'm planning on putting together my new marines as part of the VI'th, the space wolves. I'll be adding a few bits to 'wolf them up' and painting them in the dirty gray of the rest of my death wolf Co. Just a little w.i.p. topic. :) The models are a hybrid snap fit, in that you can position the head how you like, and if you were ambitious you could clip some pegs and get some different angles on the bolter arms. As usual with the newer GW kits flash is almost non existent. Other than the 'sorta' fixed poses I'm very satisfied with the plastic.
  10. I think once the new system has been out longer than a half a day games will most likely speed up a bit. Muscle memory and memorization will go a long way :) Of corse there will always be missions/list combos that will make for grind fests, there always have been, no biggy. I cracked my copy open yesterday and have been slowly absorbing everything new. What 'did' you guys like about the new system? I'm still pretty stoked to get in some fights :)
  11. The one 'high-five'ing the dude is a little weird. The one about to make sweet love to the guy on the ground looks good. I'd be curious about scale to TWC. If they were significantly bigger I might think about it.
  12. What about his wolves Pretre?! You gotta get the wolves too! ;)
  13. I plan to paint these fuzzy little guys by the end of the month to table top quality.
  14. The total 20 would change to total 8, and be legally deployable. Still guessing though.
  15. (8) total units Captain Librarian 5man tac 5man tac 5man tac 5man tac Pod Pod •Cap and 1 tac (not set up) start in a pod = (1) unit (pod) set up in tactical reserve •Lib and 1 tac (not set up) start in a pod = (1) unit (pod) set up in tactical reserve. = (2) units set up in tactical reserve. •2 tacs start on the board = (2) units set up on the table. 2 on the table and 2 in tactical reserves satisfies the 1/2 half set up requirements for deployment. So, technically, in an (8) unit army (6) could be kept "off the board". I think mech reserves will be fine, just more expensive with new vehicle costs. Of corse all of this is from watching a FLG bat rep, soooooo, I could be totally wrong. :) /shrug
  16. It's on their front page still. Nids vs ultramarines. Marine dropped a pod/stern guard/captain as (1) drop. Should still be able to build some pretty 'reserve'y' lists. :)
  17. Frontline gaming (the guys writing the faction focuses with GW, also the ones who play tested extensively) have 8th edition battle reports up indicating that units embarked in vehicles do not count toward the unit restriction totals for reserves. Given their involvement with the roll out of 8th I'd tend to lean toward their interpretation for the rule.
  18. I'm having issues with storage space for photos, unless I get more I'll be forced to delete old content in this thread to continue posting. Is there a way to score more storage space? Thanks -Nevermind, figured it out.-
  19. Looks like fun, just a big blob of mid control :) Its nice that in 8th they're all separate models, and with positioning and fire power each can be focused down without wound shenanigans making them brokenly resiliant. Whats the wording on their regen/heal? In other armies(sm) a unit can only be the target of one of the same type of healing effect per turn(?). Similar here or is it differently named/worded ability? Its gonna be fun to face all the different stuff folks come up with over the next few months. Yay 8th :)

    Sadness

As a dad of 2, and with one of them being a little dude, this hits pretty hard. Heartfelt condolences and good thoughts from our family to yours.
  21. I'll add to this. With 8th looming, and SWA proving fun I've been inspired lately to work on my Vlka. I plan on painting this pack to tabletop standard. I picked them up at GG awhile back and have finally made time to hobby.
