They could make the changeling look like Azreal and cover both DA and chaos players. Win win. :)

Sounds like you have it covered with the coffee. :) "if you pour it they will come". :) Good luck to you and your bro. Keep us posted.

Pretty snazzy. I dig all the eyes.

The correct answer to the op is: Grey Knights. Might have to sprinkle in some wolves too. Just say'n, worked for Angron. ;)

The Void Calls - Genestealer Cult Codex Incoming?
Psilence replied to pretre's topic in Warhammer 40,000
This release can only mean one thing. Plastic thunderhawk has to be right around the corner. ;) Pretty awesome to see the older ideas come back around. Patriarch on a dias has to be in there somewhere. And where's my limo? -
My family dabbled with it 20+ years ago when one of our hunting units inhabited the same area (Washington - ochaco wilderness preserve). Basically a wide game trail that meanders hither and thither, through a few states :p If you like hiking/nature/ outdoors it's definitely worth a look.

Don't worry, in two months they'll put it into a 50$ blister and sell it to the rest of us :) I'm just gonna break out my old pewter terminator captain who has one built in already :)

Grats man! :)

The movies would be pretty boring/over quickly if all the main characters got shot/killed by "storm trooper 11" in the opening scenes. Just saying. ;)

Codex Deathwatch and new Campaign Box (DW vs Eldar)
Psilence replied to pretre's topic in Warhammer 40,000
Let the deathwatch, deathwatch. :) -
Now everybody just needs to have epic scale flyers to represent their 40k ones. Scale everything down so the 'side board' for the dog fight doesn't take up a bunch of room. And then scale up the airborne forces and have an all flyer apoc game >:)

An interesting quote AP. A fair one though.

Having browsed the book for a bit I came up with a few interesting items. P. 58 flyers. Top paragraph -"this first section of burning skies rules present the expanded rules for flyers, which replace those from war hammer 40,000: The Rules." Not sure how the community will handle this one. Looks like GW intends these rules to be used though. P. 123. Blacksword missiles. Dogfight missile. "In a dogfight, this missile has unlimited range and the sky fire special rule (at any angle of attack)." Didn't see this on any other weapon profiles. Just something special for the sons of the lion. Attack patters are interesting. Basically players can purchase aircraft in 'wings' (2 or more planes), roll reserves to bring entire wings on at a time, and deploy said planes in certain patterns that then buff the aircraft dependent on how they are arranged on the board. When the wing arrives it has to be in coherency, in later turns individual aircraft can operate independently. The dogfight phase is a little cumbersome at first glance, but with time and experience it will get faster. It involves a roll off (with bonuses/negatives depending on each sides aircraft) to determine attacker/defender. Then 3 consecutive opposed dice comparisons (with corresponding charts) to see how the aircraft maneuver/attack each other. All of this happens off the main board, and allows for the destruction of aircraft that aren't on the main board. Destroyed aircraft can crash n burn onto the main board, causing some havoc :) Wing leaders/aces/racial formations allow buffs to players aircraft, ranging from better performance in dog fights, to gaining formation bonus's when not actually in formation. It's a little heavy to process all at once, but I think it should be fun/interesting to use once we've had some time to digest it all.

Help me build a face smashing Iron Hands list!
Psilence replied to Doug_L's topic in Warhammer 40,000
Hey there :) Sorry about the run of losses, it can get pretty frustrating. I think everybody has been there at one point or another. As for a face melting list: It may take a few days/weeks for the really synergistic builds to pop up. Are you working from existing models? Are you open to picking up the kits you'll need to flesh the list out? Are you set on I.H.? If a better chapter tactic meshed with the list would you change? (Scars/RG/ect). Does your group play mostly straight book missions? Maelstrom? Modified maelstrom (I.T.C.)? What powers are u fishing for with the conclave? The death star is pretty mobile and killy, but might suffer if the opponent can make you roll enough saves. The chaplain is nice as he buffs the unit in cc. It an interesting trade off with the chapter master (fist/hammer) who is a beat stick on his own. The preds as back field campers feel funky to me. Can the formation split up onto different objectives? The sky hammer is fun, and feels like how marines should play on the table. It feels a little unsupported though (except the dread). Will you deploy mid? Or go head long into the enemy? If the enemy can weather your alpha, and out deploy/maneuver your star I think the list might have issues after the initial turns, especially if your current group runs harder lists. Even so, it looks like it would be fun to put on a table :) It sounds like your still getting your rythum after returning to the game. Give it time, let the net lists emerge, and have some fun :) The xenos' days are numbered >:) -
Spring 40K Old School League: Mission 1 - Claim the Bounty
Psilence replied to evil_bryan's topic in Warhammer 40,000
Awesome Mission name should be changed to have something to do with robocop (the origional). :) -
How would you guys run a stealer cult on the table for 40k? Counts as nids? Chaos renegades? I.G.? Are there any formations floating around? (FW, white dwarf, ect)

Aiming to hook consumers at a younger age, where they are still figuring out what they like, could be a good move for the company in general. Years later when the kids in high school/college and has a few buck to scrape together they might re-enter a hobby they might not have known about otherwise. And I'm convinced it'll be uncles/grandparents who are looking for a gift for a relative that will walk through the hobby shop and go 'hmm, that looks cool. 40$? No prob for a one off gift.' And BAM! Another plastic addict is created :)

My wallet just exploded... Now all we need is some limos and we're set :)
-
I like the quest for knowledge leading them down a dark path bit :) As for their origins, go with what you like :) its you're hobby time after all. Perhaps a company of the missing legion gets isolated somehow, and is missed/forgotten when the purge happened?

Poling around to see what would happen and to generate some interest
Psilence replied to derek's topic in Warhammer 40,000
Folks may be busy with their weekends. Give it a few :) I'd be interested in another event in the area. -
Flash! Ahhhhhh Ahhhhhh!

A good video record would b good for insurance purposes. Lots of us have lots of duckets buried in plastic. :) it'd b a bummer to lose in a flood... ;)

All I can picture is the pop machine from maximum overdrive getting the baseball coach. You should build an ice cream truck with a bunch of white scars/RW bikes lodged in the front grille ;p I can't suggest list for lack of the book, but thematically a bunch of mechs 'crazy welded' together alert fits the bill for orks:) Should be a fun project. Making all the 'drones' sort of... 'Special'. Would be funny :)

Old Skool 40K AKA "Get off my lawn you darned kids!"
Psilence replied to andozane's topic in Warhammer 40,000
A totally valid point. I just miss the old days when orkz was orkz 'n' ummies was ummies. Now many army lists feel like they're some sort of weird Starbucks order. "I'll have a half CAD, double D CAD, with a shot of Lib Con please."
