  1. That was a blast. Cold one chariot chasing down a unit, failing dangerous terrain, and then dying FTW! However, best play of the game goes to your level 4 wizard getting IF with a two-dice flock of doom. Rolling a three for miscast result, getting sucked in the void, causing 11 wounds on the unit, and then the unit proceeds to run off the table. All of this on the bottom of turn 1. That was just epicly epic!
  2. I may have missed it in the not so vast rules, but is there anything which says they can't be in movement trays?
  3. Ogres shoot cannons better tha dwarfs though.
  4. Yeah, um, I'm a duck fan so I'll be alright. There is a Raider fan club so there's that.
  5. On the plus side, for making my decision easier, there's not many fantasy players in the Eugene area so my yes may very well be a hell no!
  6. So, I voted yes because I am going to at least try it; however, will I continue to play it? Meh, I have dark souls 2!
  7. Yeah, I had hope but have lost it in the past few days. I really like the war scrolls be no points come on wtf GW. Off to 40k after ofcc.
  8. Back on topic. My example, before the scrolls popped up, was something along the lines of: 1-5 scrolls 1-50 models The above is just an example of course. Locking down heroes choices to 1 seems silly because you could get hero spamming with a points system. I'm sure that once people are testing the game out we will see a bunch of self comp suggestions.
  9. Screw that. I'm taking 5 slanns and 5 units of chameleons. Chameleons come up where you want, shoot things dead and slanns make more units of chameleons!
  10. Have you not read anything on this thread? Toughness is a thing of the past!
  11. It's cute that people are talking about cannons and engineers for dwarfs. Dark elf reaper bolt throwrs have 12 shots with 2 crew.
  12. Eugene area, relocated for work. I'll be at events still just no more game nights. It sucks, I really like the gaming community or do has.
  13. I'll be there. It will be my last game night. I move in August.
  14. I can finally play with a Dark Elf Assassin. Why? Because they were total crap in the last book! O.o Assassin's and shades force? Me thinks....YES!!!111!!11!
  15. I would think 50 models is a good way to start out. Up to 5 scrolls and up to 50 models.
  16. This is how I see most games going down. Bring up to 50 models using 5 scrolls. This way both players know what the max scroll and model count can be. At that point, if they are outnumbered tremendously, that's on the individual. I read the rules and some of the scrolls posted here. I am extremely excited for this game.
  17. I liked 7th the best. 7th was a much more tactical game and war machines weren't as powerful and frenzy, fear, and terror were real threats. I really liked how the magic phase worked in 7th as well. The charge phase was much easier and there were not nearly as many arguements about front, flank, or rear arcs. The double flee [big bad swear word] in 8th is just stupid. I use to my advantage because it works but I hate how it works and basically one model dictates how a unit of 30+ models will operate. War machines are OP in 8th. GW tried to nerf ridden monsters but made cannons, and other template weapons to destructive to these models. It's a shame because ridden monsters are some of the best looking monsters but people don't want to bring them because they are shot down in a turn or 2. Magic is just flat out stupid in 8th. A level 1 wizard can destroy a unit worth 4 times their point value and the miscast table is a joke. There's not much repricution to 6 dicing spells because it will normally take 2+ miscasts to kill a level 1 or 2 wizard. The only thing I didn't like about 7th was how close combat worked. I didn't like that if you charge and kill the front rank this meant you couldn't be hit back. If that were changed, I believe 7th ed would have been close to flawless. Skirmishers had more vaule. When you killed stuff with cannons and/or stone throwers it felt more rewarding. You could actually build armies for magic offense and/or defense. I think list building in 7th was much more engaging as well.
  18. I'd love to be there but I will be in Eugene. Fixxer, I'm sending you a PM.
  19. I am soooo excited for this release. I cannot wait for my white dwarf any longer. This looks flippin awesome!
  20. We can n00b it up with 40k when I move back to Eugene in a few months.
  21. I still have hopes for something else to come. As for outnumbering your opponent 10 to 1, I would simply just say, "yeah, no". It's no different than not wanting to play a game against the double nurgle DP and double chimera lists.
  22. Why not just continue to play 8th edition? Sure, it's not going to be supported; however, we have the neccessary tools to continue playing 8th edition.
  23. To each there own. I will purchase and play AoS, that's a fact. As for the 4 page rules. I kind of like that. Most of the rules (abilites) are going to be on scrolls. How many of the special rules do you use with your current army? All it does is take the special rules and put them on scrolls. I'm really looking forward to seeing these scrolls.
