  1. I'm looking for a game of 40k, but there are no takers I'll hop in for some racing action again. It was fun last week and having the full rules will help.
  2. I'm glad someone else saw that too. I was thinking to myself that that analysis was incorrect using RAW, especially since there was an "and" following the list of restrictions and not an "or".
  3. War of the Chosen is awesome. I beat the game a couple of days ago and, similar to Enemy Within for XCOM, it feels like a whole new game and not just a dlc pack. The three new factions that you have access to (Reapers, Skirmishers, and Templars) really bring a very nice flavor to the game and they in and of themselves feel very unique from one another. I noticed right away that there were many improvements to the base game with HEAVILY reduced wait times for mission starts (2-3 seconds down from 1-2 minutes for me), better graphic quality even at lower settings, and less hitching and framerate drops. Some fun bugs I found were that if an enemy gets critically hit and dies their model will stay upright on the field and it looks like they didn't die even though there is no health bar, in addition to some teleporting enemies as they moved during their turn. However, these are minor and relatively funny instead of wrecking your game. I would highly recommend this game as I haven't been engrossed this much in a game in a while.
  4. Looking for some 40k after a few weeks of a board game break. Anyone wanna have some fun?
  5. Hey Brad I'll join you for another round of Merchant of Venus (I got it right this time). I'll see if I can't take over Jim's successful rock video cartel and become the ultimate Lone Star.
  6. I'll jump in on Merchant of Venice, since folks will be mostly occupied with the "This Is Not a Test" stuff this week. I'll be there at 6pm so we can get started on time.
  7. Yes we're on Corey and it's whatever point value you want. I can do whatever your massive, non-cholesterol filled heart desires.
  8. Sounds good Corey. Anyone up for a game of 40k or board game? I got Castle Panic for my birthday yesterday if anyone wants to defend a castle from roving bands of goblins, orcs, and trolls.
  9. I can play you good sir. Any particular point cost? My Daemons are looking for some retribution.
  10. I'll take you on Jim. I'll try my Chaos for the first time in 8th and see how they feel on the table. Furthermore, this helps to not have to figure out which Space Marine shouted "Heretic!" in a crowded room. Just let me know what points you narrow it down to. I've got some new toys that well let me hit the higher end of things more easily than before.
  11. Sounds good to me. I'll see you around 6.
  12. Sure I'll give you a game David. What point value were you thinking?
  13. Hey Kevin, I'm still up for a game of 40k so that you can practice your OFCC list. I'll be there around 6 as usual.
  14. Curse you GW! Why did you have to find out about the Tempest Hammer? I thought I was clever when I found the loophole about the Tempest Hammer not getting the -1 to hit. Oh well, I guess I won't be spending those extra 5pts anymore sigh.
  15. Hey guys it looks like Sergent is out for Tuesday so I am still looking for a 40k opponent for Tuesday. Any takers?
  16. The only game I've played was 2000pts, which didn't feel that big compared to 7th Ed where 2000pts was a lot of dudes on the board. Not sure there's a "norm" yet for this edition, but armies will probably be smaller, especially with marines, than in 7th. I'm just fine with anything in the 1850 to 2000pt range.
  17. So @sergentzimm it looks like you and I may be the last 40k potential pair standing. I'd be willing to throw down with you in some 8th Ed. action. Any particular point level you were thinking of?
  18. Sounds like a plan. Nerdy Brad won't get the best of us. At least until the Abominations show up turn 1.
  19. Yeah sure I can bring Dark Souls. I can be your Sun Bro =)
  20. Also Shawn I am totally down to play ZBP again. It was a TON of fun the last time I played. I remember in our first mission me sacrificing myself to a Wolf Abomination so that my fellow survivors could dash into an adjacent building and find the 3dmg crossbow they needed to do some solid abom. hunting. It was an epic moment that'll I'll remember for a long time.
  21. Ok I can work with that. I could meet you @ DT around 2:30pm to give us a good 4ish hours to get the kinks out. It'll be my second game so there will be a lot of book flipping between the both of us. It'll be fun to see how different and probably stronger from what I've seen Nids have become.
  22. Hey David, I've got the day off tomorrow (Thursday). Any chance you want to 8th Ed. it up? I can be down there anytime, but we'd have to pay for parking until 5pm so I'd prefer an evening game.
  23. @VonVilkee I was referring to the rule that when a transport is wrecked you have to roll a d6 for each occupant and on a 1 a model is slain. You are right that you can decide which models are slain, but they still die nonetheless. That's what killed my Terminators, I rolled two 1s grrr.
