It's actually always been that way...or at least more often than not. I'd have to go back and read through all editions to be sure. But the language was always "one model may..." and not "one Reaver may..."

I've been running blasters and grav talons/cluster caltrops on the squad leader for many years 😉

Then other people have been incorrect because you are right.

Quite possibly my favorite aspect of the new Hellions is the stratagem they can pull if there is also a squad of Reavers within 12" and LoS. Basically they compete to show who is better at aerial murdering and each squad gets bonus to their movement and re-rolls in combat. That's the kind of personality that has been slowly filtered out of the faction after their 5th edition re-launch.

I liked that one as well! Its fun and interesting and makes me want more Reavers.

Did you know they removed the restriction for Reavers on who gets the sepcial weapons so now the Arena Champ can have heat lances as well

I am so unbelievably excited for this codex! They replaced hoops, red tape, and dull scissors with a system of actual choices! It is no longer "do this, or your army is illegal" but "do this to gain benefits, but understand you'll have to make compromises too."

And hellions are good. For the very first time, they're actually good! They were usable in 5th since Baron Sathonyx made them into troops, but they weren't great. Now they're [big bad swear word]ing mean. +1A, +1T, +1W, and -1AP??

I want this codex in my hands!!!

Those turbo-dork paints should speed up the process, I'm curious about them, but never tried them myself.

For the Paints, I brushed on everything but the wings which I would likely go over with brush. I airbrushed the wings

Hellions... Oh my sweet Green Goblins... I loved them from 5th but never jumped in (couldnt afford DE back then), now we have the codex of choices that while might not have a ton of choices like Marines but Marines are bogged down by X or Y being better than Z and the DE codex might have that but its not a HUGE deal.

  5. Why GW... why did you have to make this Codex so interesting to build with.

Bit of a back story, I HAD planned on getting the piety and pain box to give the Drukhari to Pete but... GW was smart and they turned this Codex into a "Build Your Own Adventure" codex. So compared to marines it has more unit viability across the Codex and there is no real "Right way" to play the codex...

Want Wracks and Grotesques with Acid Flamers that just advance up the table and spew liquid death, go for it. Want little Green Goblin-esque guys flying around taking heads off then charging in? Sure.

So sadly I have been drawn in with this Goosebumps style codex of fun and shenanigans ...

For my design, I am using a lot of Turbo Dork paints. On this test Hellion, we have People Eater Purple on the board, Nightmare Emerald for the Green and the yellowish color is Electrum.

  6. So I moved into a new apartment right before Christmas and a month later after some generous donations from friends for a table I have been finally able to set up said table to do 40k games. Found some Ork terrain I like and have been 3d printing them in Resin...because I hate money.

Learned a few things about this. Got to set the doors up for these BEFORE curing the wide frames. That or I print them in Water Washable resin so there is less rigidity in the clamps.

This is 13" or so wide... once I add a few layers it will be a "Ruin" and thus obscuring. I am liking the modularity of this set... One day I hope I can invite people over to play.

Wahapedia isn’t always up to date, but it doesn’t usually much more than a month or so behind... and oftentimes faster. Obviously, the old “caveat emptor” applies when using unofficial sources.

But, for most common purposes, it’s fine.

I will have to check their space marine section as the last time I checked a month or so back it was still out of date.

I actually prefer the Aquilon Terminators, both for the models’ aesthetics and the units rules.  I don’t have any strong desire (at the moment) to expand my Custodes collection beyond what I have now (and I’ve still got a couple boxes of things in the Pile O Shame).

If I ever do add Allarus Terminators, I will just probably do an arm swap with Aquilon bodies.

So... umm... Does anyone have twenty Allarus Terminators available for trade?
Page 8 – While We Stand, We Fight
    Change to read:
‘If you select this objective, then before the battle you must identify which three units from your army (excluding models with the Fortifications Battlefield Role) have the highest points value, and make a note of them on your army roster (if two or more units are tied, you can choose between them). If your army has three or fewer units, then you instead identify all the units in your army. A unit’s points cost includes the points of all weapons and wargear it is equipped with. You score 5 victory points for each of these units that are on the battlefield at the end of the battle. If a unit splits into several smaller units during the battle, all of those separate units (excluding Drones units) must be destroyed for the original unit to count as being destroyed for the purposes of this secondary objective.’
UNLEASH THE LIONS

    Adeptus Custodes Stratagem

Many are the tales of heroic bands of Allarus Custodians engaging entire armies in fierce battle.

Use this Stratagem at the start of your Movement phase. Select a unit of Allarus Custodians from your army on the battlefield. That unit is immediately split into separate units, each containing a single model.
At seventy points per model, without options, a maxed out unit runs a flat 700 Points. Two of them still leaves room for a core of MSU Troops and a Shield-Captain.

Spend 4 CP and you’ve got twenty T5 W4 Sv 2+/4++ units running hither and yon. Every single one of which is ObSec and you gotta each and every one of them or I snag 10 Victory Points.

They can also sit in Reserves until Turn Three before they Deep Strike onto the table, so you’ve gotta kill them all really fast.

    I can... make them 😛

Doesn't go far enough, says I! I say we all go back to the original Force Organization chart. None of these silly "detachments" or "keywords" to muck about with. You wanna play Space Marines? Play 'em. You wanna mix in some Imperial Guard? Tough nuts! Damn kids these days with their "soup"... soup is for eating, not 40k!

Hahaha I remember the last time we had this argument. Alas CP is a precious resource and some armies actually lose a lot if everything is not from the same group.

I think marines lose doctrines or super doctrines, sisters of battle lose their Rites, so GW is going that way
