Raindog
These guys had a booth at Rose City Comicon. They are local and seemed fun.

My Son's Girlfriend and her fathers deal (out of Hubbard) - they keep leaning on me to try the game - but I have yet to get a demo though. -d
Ish
There were a handful of people who played a couple times at the clubhouse, pre-plague.
Torg
I just don't know ... I am not sure I need another pile of 28mm minis to paint and take room on my shelf. I will have to see a demo... but so far I find nothing intriguing about WW2 at 28mm. -d
Brother Glacius
There are a few of us that play about once a month. I think it is a fantastic game and you should really give it a try.
Torg
I may give it a try - my son is playing it with the (possibly future father in law) and perhaps after I clear some projects off my plate. Currently, I have been bit by the slot car but (1:32 Scalextric) lol -d
Norrad
I’m not really interested in Bolt Action. Being in the military I guess WWII is too close to home. Konflikt 47 on the other hand looks really cool and uses the Bolt Action engine. I’d play that.

I find Konflict 47 more interesting than Bolt Action, mostly because it’s divorced from the timeline of the actual war. One of the big stumbling blocks for me and WWII gaming is that there is such a drastic difference in technology, weaponry, tactics, and factions depending on which portion of the war (not to mention which theater) you choose to play in. The Polish parachute regiments that jumped into Operation: Market Garden might as well have been alien space elves compared to the Polish army that fought against the Blitz five years earlier…
Brother Glacius
@ish I don't really think that is true. The only time you have massive tech issues in BA is with armor. But in most formations that is so limited that it would not be hard at all to make sure you and your opponent were on the same page. That is one of the big reasons I love BA, for the most part, anything you can have, I can have. Now if you want to play some really obscure unit that has very limited armaments, then you just need to make sure your opponent understands that. Ish
@Brother GlaciusI was speaking of WWII gaming in general. I don’t have any experience with Bolt Action.
BRVH
@scottshoemakerI brought this up earlier in the year and I am interested in playing BA in 15mm as well. I have a 28mm US Airborne army but 15mm would be cheaper and more convenient overall. Let me know if you already have 15mm WWII miniatures. Torg
They had a Bolt Action Game day out here in Aurora - the guy (my possible future in-law(sons girlfriends father))... was hosting out at the Grange Hall. I checked it out for a few hours and picked up my island assault box set. Looks like he is planning on having a monthly Game Day / Fun Tournament - next one in January. I asked if he posted anything here on Ordo about it... and he had not. So in the future I will make sure to post up when the next game days are scheduled. -d 1
Torg
I talked to the organizer of the Bolt Action game day they had in Aurora (near Canby, Oregon) the other day and they said they are just starting to plan for another game day in February. He decided to skip a January event due to Covid stuff going around anew. When I know more I will make a new post about the event. -d
