40K CRUSADE!!! The Unofficial <possibly official>, Thursday Night Crusade Starting September 22nd

—- the prison colony has turned into anarchists dream. Gangs and cultist run amuck, slaughtering each other for their own bits of food, water and power.

After the cruiser leveled half the capital all imperial resources have been sent to assist in recovery and rescue of what’s left. Smoke from the city can still be seen far off in the distance. This has left the prisoners off leash…

The yard of the complex is relatively quiet in the early dawn today, several prisoners hold in small groups all around. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, the scream of engines shatters the silence as three black and steel drop ships land in the yard.
heavy armed and armored marines in black and iron colors quickly exit and  form lines of order. Then from what must be the main ship a large man in power terminator armor exits, followed by another dressed in black and white armor with serpentine metallic tendrils.

The Lord begins to shout (imagine a vulgar almost Scottish accent)…

”Listen up [big bad swear word]heads! These orders come direct from Perturabo himself!
You [big bad swear word]s begin fortifications, our primary mission is to hold this spot till the gibblies below finish their work.
you maggots come with me we have get the lay of this [big bad swear word] hole of a planet!”

Lord Haggit turns to re enter his drop ship as the silent Warpsmith gestures to the crowd of prisoners now gathering.

the lord give a hand sign to one of the legionaries who releases a latched storage container that spills out weapons of various guns and hand weapons

“You [big bad swear word]s have two choices! …Die now! Or. Grab a weapon and kill some [big bad swear word] before you die! Your call”

with that he reenters his ship…

Battle five: The new foes.....AGAIN!!!(Voltan vs The pirate Orks)

The small Umies had beaten Dakka before, but this time he used his speed waaagh in its full might of current vehicles. His Speedwaaagh! found the enemy unprepared it seemed and pushed fast into their lines. The hail of fire from da kinda flying ting was too much as it exploded the heavy armored enemy bikes.

As the Speedwaaagh was called and the Orks charged in without care of themselves. The machine known as Mr Smiley dove in flamers and klaws cutting down the small umies making a path to the one who lead the small ones. Volum Dakka saw the gap form by his Killajet Cutta and drove his wartrike in a frenzy forward and crushed the small umie warlord who blew up Dakka's former trike the last time they faced. As orks never cared if they lost, only if they lived to fight the enemy again and defeat them. The battle was over so quickly as the speedwaaagh simply had too much momentum in the want for revenge, the waaagh energy making all of the boyz in a frenzy.

Dakka charged off after the Voltan warlord's head was in his snagga klaw. He had no desire to waste anymore time, taking the small head for his collection, making him remove the 1 loss against warlords. His fame was spreading as Volume Dakka was becoming a force unto himself. Claiming the heads of those he fought, now dressing the front of his wartrike with the skulls that remained after he cleaned them. His Waaagh was gaining more momentum after the small set back. The avalanche of a full Waaagh! was not far off. If he could keep up his victories he could gain more boyz for his waaagh and take on the great Ghaz himself if he could manage it.

Battle six: The Kinda Metal Umies (Iron hands vs The pirate Orks)

It was the armored umies that weren't really umies anymore, Volum grinned at the possibility to take the possible metal or partial metal head to his trike. He would enjoy the addition with the horned deamon on his Trike. The battle was run through as his speedwaaagh was still fresh of the victory against the small umies. Keeping up with their ambush style tactics of charging headlong and giving the enemy a storm of Dakka was proving effective. Finishing with Volum charging into the warlords and taking their heads to the roar of the boyz behind him.

This battle was no different as the Dakka raiders were effective to the point that Mork had to be aiming their guns for them. They rained enough dakka on the cultists that they were wiped before Volum even got close to the massive dreadnaught the iron hands had with them. The aid of Mr. Smiley and the kinda flying thing finally brought down the massive dreadnought.

The boyz were in a frenzy as they screamed the Waaagh as a group only to suddenly have the Warlord of the iron hands dropped into the field as he had waited for the right moment instead of with the rest of the Marines. Volum found himself surround by terminators and the warlord, but he didn't hesitate as he charged the warlord without care of the terminators behind him shooting his wartrike up heavily before he dropped into battle with the warlord. The fight was even and charged the boyz up as they seemed to stop fighting and simply watch the two warlord battle. The fight ended as the marine cut into the wartrike accidently cutting open the fuel tank. The resulting explosion launched Dakka off beaten and bloodied, but not dead. The wartrikes explosion took with it the driver and the warlord himself. His victory secured as he passed out from his wounded on the field.

His boyz brought Volum back as he laughed upon waking and seeing the helmet covered head of the warlord with his collection. His boyz cheered as their boss stood back up, he seemed to have grown after recovering. His body getting bigger as the waaagh was building, the heads collecting and giving the warboss the power of the waaagh into his very being. He charged towards the mek shop seeing that the large vehicle they had been working on with the scrap and loot they had collected from the vehicles they didn't blow up. The looted wagon was complete, and the battle fortress was almost completed as well. He knew his speed waaagh was ready, the dakka would silence the battle field.

Iron Warriors-

by the time Lord Haggit and his men returned to the prison much work had already been done

His trusted men had re-enforced the walls to a much greater strength and they continued the work seemingly unfazed by the  cry’s of pain and otherworldly howls emanate from deep inside the main facility.

Lord Haggit thought back the the last few days.

the Necrons they came across really pushed the Iron Warriors to the limit. The Necrons won the day but Haggit was able to keep them from their prize so a loss was kind of a win.

On the way back they were ambushed by a Ork war band that really knocked the crap out of his troops. Lord Haggit was able to take out the Ork warboss but the shoddy bike like vehicle he road exploded. Haggit’s terminator guard were able to pull him back to the landing ship and get him back to the new base.

Haggit’s ship lands and he exits, his heavily armored  left arm hangs limp. He makes no effort to hold it, or to stop the bleeding on his forehead.

”[big bad swear word], them Orks are a tough breed here.” Lord Haggit says flatly to the Warpsmith “the Necrons were no slouches either. ..both gave us a good wolloping. But we keep em away from the work here …repair the troops and get me a medic. Our job has just begun”

The roars of battle seem to cover the planet surface. Orks seem to be dominating the southern wastes, Votann & Admech run about, both acting for some unknown purpose. Marines and the Imperial forces struggle to keep all things at bay but the massive destruction of the capital city has left all the Imperials scattered and unorganized...Then there is the chaos. Two groups of what were once thought to be loyalist marines now seem to be pirates, chaotic brigands disguised as marines seem to be fighting everyone.

The Prison Colony has declared independence from the Imperial command and have begun fortifying their position. Now there seems to be a sickness running through the populace. A madness that seems to corrupt the flesh, leading to mutations and extreme violence between formally friendly commoners.

The Imperil forces have managed to send word some time ago and orders have finally arrived from the Inquisition. This broad cast is unencrypted and all on the planet listening hear this announcement.

"This is Grand Inquisitor Amorn Thathius. All Imperial forces are to unify their efforts to regain control. For all others on planet you should leave now. This is the only mercy you will receive. If control does not come Taros, we will put the full force of the Empire to remedy the curses...The Inquisition is coming."

With that the transmission ends.

Week 5

1000pts with a max of 2 games for exp & rp

***Please note that everyone gets a free 250pts to add to their army roster for this advancement***

For anyone interested in the fluffy side of things please post your response if any. Also we will begin to keep a score tally of wins for "teams" i.e. imperial, chaos, and other 😉

this is just to help the fluff to see how the inquisition/imperial forces act and or if the forces of chaos take control, or if the Orks continue to dominate the battlefields.

Battle Seven: The fast 'umie gitz (White Scars vs The Pirate Orks)

Volum had yet to approach what he knew he had to, the umies on bikes. The fast gitz he knew brought bikes and jump packs to every fight. As was the ork way he charged in head long spreading his forces across the battlefield as a big line, while he himself drove to the warlord's bike against him.

The fight was instant as his newly repaired and upgraded Trike was cutting across the lines before the white scars could react. His eyes locked on his target as he drove into them and caught them off guard and unable to use their might against him. The fight was fast and brutal, just as Gork wanted....or maybe Mork?

The rest of the battle worked to the orks advantage as they piled in and ground the enemy down before Mr. Smiley the deff dread was destroyed and took an enemy squad with him in the explosion. It was all over in a horde of Volum's best vehicles and bikers alike. The victory was sealed as Dakka put his new space marine helmet covered head on his wartrikes front mount. He smiled and looked on to the next battle seeing no one in the current system he was taken back to their base of operations and he added another pile of scrap as the Gretchin began sorting and building a massive battle wagon of sorts, he couldn't tell if they would have it finished in time, but he knew it was being done.

It was only a matter of time, but the lack of enemies around Dakka made his skin itch, and since the umies were giving his boyz a wide path he felt it was time for the best krumpin he could find....The other Orks in the system were gaining Waaagh speed as his boyz were, but the battle was going to be brutal. He knew it was the kill rig riding boyz, the ones who had the old ways of the Goffs. While Dakka knew he could handle himself in the battle, the mass of his vehicles would be in a tough fight if they Squigs they rode got close. Volum' decided it was time for a fight and riled his boyz up screaming for the new target as his boyz loading in their vehicles and road off with him. They were going to fight the weaker boyz, he knew his SpeedWaaagh would beat their Waaagh It was the way of GORK!....or maybe MORK!

The Iron Warriors toil at their fortifications and look to intercept any who get too close to the cults work on the prison.

as the “speed waaagh!” Continues t dominate the southern lands, the other waring factions continue their raids and plunders as the imperial forces begin to feel overwhelmed

Some questions. So right now the games are set at 1000pts, and previously, we started with 1000pts to build our forces, and then got a free 250pt bump. So is it still current at 1250 total points plus whatever people spent RP on?

Also, for those of us who have missed games, that means no additional RP. So that extra 250 has to be used on new units unless you have the RP to expand a unit correct?

Since this past week has been a miss of all games I have adjusted the schedule for the Crusade as follows:

Here is the schedule for the rest of the campaign!

Nov 17th - 1000pts max 2 games for exp and rp

Nov 24th - thanksgiving / eat tofurkey and taters …gain at least 3 lbs max of 10 lbs

Dec 1st - 1000pts max 2 games for exp and rp

Dec 8th - 1500pts 1 game a week for exp & rp

Dec 29th - 750pts 1 game a week for exp & rp

January 5th - 2000pts 1 game a week for exp & rp

End?

At the end of the crusade we can tally up the crusade point value of all armies. The "winner'' is everyone who played<I feel so lame for saying that 😉) ...but we can all give a sturdy handshake (of fist bump your choice) to the person(s) with the highest crusade point rating: they are the winners of the crusade 🙂

any changes please request on this thread

  • 3 weeks later...

Inquisitor Takamada’s cruiser breaches the asteroid belt. He looks over the planet, it seems so peaceful from here. But he knew better, he knew that alien filth has infested the planet.

“Heresy…” he muttered aloud. "Take the ship into orbit and alert the Death Watch“

”The Xenos have taken the planet. We must assess to see if this is salvageable…or if this is to become a clean slate.

Much to be done”

—————-

The crusade continues!!!

1000 pt games, max 2 games for RP & EX
