Is it me, or have ebay sellers lost their minds?

Recommended Posts

I know I have a promise to my wife to not buy any more models this year. But I still look right? So in considering my wood elf army, I thought I'd look for a few pieces just to see. Technically I can still purchase models, but I have to sell some first, so it still is a possibility. That being said, people have lost their f'ing minds. The prices people want for a blister is redonkulous. At least $25 for a pair of metal bowmen or spearmen?? There is a 4th edition wood elf army box out there going for almost four grand. Suffice to say, I've already started looking at various STL option for anything else I might need and I've found some good ones thankfully. I know that for some stuff, there is a collector value. But now that wtow is out, people have gone bonkers.

I had a t-shirt from a Metallica concert in 1998. Sold it for $300.

My buddy resells old estate sale items on eBay. Does pretty well with things I wouldn't even waste my time on. It's the size of the audience, and eBay has that.

It's also the collector aspect, and some people just have more money to waste. That or financially irresponsible.

The true eBay measure is to filter 'sold items' (not just completed). The actual sales prices will tell you what similar items sold for. Some are just overpriced in hopes of getting a steal.

Truly. Some sellers will put up items with a ridiculous price, just to see if there's one person who might buy it for that price. I stopped buying old GW miniatures off eBay around 2012; mostly because there were very few deals and a lot of overpriced garbage at that time.

3d Print the stuff you need. Ebay now is not ebay in 2004, sadly.

It's a tempting proposition but who's got the STLs?  I've seen some nice stuff but if I really want stuff from 6th, 7th or 8th is there a good option?

If your looking for free files my source got shut down by GW. But the 2 links below have really nice minis.  I'm sure there are more but these two are the ones I could remember.

I am in the process of printing the dwarfs.  I would suggest doing a test print with one model first.  I had to print at 92% scale to get them close to my GW dwarfs.
