dashneeb
I'm pretty sure two twin linked heavy bolters make short work of this bad boy. Or one Tau Railgun. :)
PumpkinHead
Yay, lots of fun new toys! I hope the Neurothrope does more then the rumors say. Or if he is just a warp charge booster, then he doesn't cost an arm and a leg as an upgrade.

Guest
Tyranids sure got some wierd units. Two T6 MCs with 5 wounds and only 4+ armor. The new spore mines are odd, as is the spore pod and spore bastion.
WestRider
Being weird is kind of part of the point of Tyranids :D
WestRider
I read a battle report using Tyrannocytes with Venom Cannon, and it seems to confirm my gut feelings on them. Not only did he do a significant amount of damage to his own dudes with them, but it took freaking forever to work out 15 Blasts per Shooting Phase. I'll just stick with rolling a bucketload of Devourer dice, I think.

AbusePuppy
And then you get assaulted by some Tactical Marines and good job on spending a fifth of your army on that. :\
pretre
And then you get assaulted by some Tactical Marines and good job on spending a fifth of your army on that. :\ Yeah. Probably. I just thought it was amusing. You can probably get some use out of a pod though.
fluger
Still, I think it's interesting how they are updating models in codexes.
galahad911
And then you get assaulted by some Tactical Marines and good job on spending a fifth of your army on that. :\ These should be in around your other units. If you allow something silly like tac marines to assault them then the problem is in the mirror, not the unit in question.
AbusePuppy
These should be in around your other units. If you allow something silly like tac marines to assault them then the problem is in the mirror, not the unit in question. I'm assuming that they got dropped in by a Tyrannocyte, because otherwise getting them into range is going to be a bit tricky, since you can't kill anything that is outside of 18" with the Neurothrope. Units that Deep Strike in are almost by definition going to be isolated from the rest of your army; if they aren't, why did you need to Deep Strike them? You don't typically send Drop Pods deep into your own backfield and I can't expect that you'll do so with this unit, either- they are almost inevitably going to be going far onto the enemy side of the table where your other units can't reach because that's where the enemy fire support (and other things you need to kill with them) are going to be. Units that are already within charge range of your army you don't need anything special to kill.
