Duckman
I am amused by the all-day showing of Lord of the Rings. I own the director's cut DVDs and a friend of mine asked to borrow them so that he could have a marathon on his birthday. He said they made it to the first hour of The Two Towers and then decided that they were nuts... 13 hours is a little long to be sitting in a chair staring at a video screen in my book, especially in a theater where I cannot pause the damn thing to go drain used beer. andozane
When Return of the KIng was released, Lloyd Theater did an all day LOTR fest...we watched Fellowship (extended), then Two Towers (extended), then Return of the King (theatrical). YES...it was far too long to sit...I remember we went and wandered the mall some during Fellowship, and I think I took a short nap dufing it as well. But I love Two Towers, and well, of course stayed wide awake for Return of the King :) It was a blast... If doing this, make sure you get a COUCH!!!
fluger
Funny, I like Fellowship the best of the movies and found Two Towers to be the weakest. :P
Raindog
Wrong! Two Towers is the best theatrical, but the worst extended..
daleroller
I will be at this event. I have gone every year for the last 10 years I think. There is a 45 minute break between each movie and then is also an intermission during Return of the King. Admission is free with the donation of 2 cans of food.
