Brother Glacius
Is there any reason to keep the old dried out GW paints? These are from the horrid hex bottles with the hard screw-on black plastic cap. I have an entire mega paint set of these things, and every single one of them is dried out. Not sure if there is any way to salvage them. Should they all go in the garbage?
WestRider
Yeah, if they're completely bricked, just chuck 'em. If they're still at least a bit liquid, they can sometimes be salvaged. I wish they'd go back to the 2nd Ed paint pots. Not a single one of those has dried up on me in over 15 years.
JMGraham
That's exactly why they won't go back to them. Coat d'arms are the folks that did the old Citadel range, and still have the colors in flip tops: http://www.coatdarms.com/online_shop/index.php?cPath=21
JMGraham
If it helps, here's a conversion chart: https://www.hiveworldterra.co.uk/Article/view_CoatDArmsConversionChart.html I just ran out of Snakebite Leather, and Vallejo's equivalent isn't up to snuff, so I'll be trying their paint out soon. WestRider
I've looked into those, but most of the colours I'm really going through are newer ones that were never in that line. Some old school Snakebite Leather might be nice to have again, tho.
pretre
I got Coat D'arms to get back some of my Space Wolf Grey. I can't do without that stuff.
Torg
I got tired of the drying up problems with those pots as well. I will check out Coat D'arms. A few years ago I started picking up the drop bottle style paints (can't remember the name at the moment) - but I found that those squeeze bottles were just easier to use for my style. I still do pick up a couple GW pots - for the most critical colors lol. -d
Brother Glacius
You guys are awesome. I am completely serious, I have owned those Coat d'arms paints from GW since the late 80's. They are nearly 30 years old and are still ready to use. I am going to be getting me that whole line. I'll be done with buying paint for another 30 years :)
Torg
are they in any "local shop"? or is the only way going online to order? -d
pretre
I haven't seen them locally (and I asked a couple times when I was looking). I ended up ordering them online. I can digup the place if people need it.

pretre
That's who I went through last time. I bought a bunch of clearance paints and they sent bonus paint. :)
pretre
Also, a good note for Coat D'arms is that they have old style inks, which are VERY awesome.

Kremmet
A quick note that those black tops are great as model holders. Either with pins, poster tack, or just glue they're pretty much perfect for giving a little purchase to hold onto while painting. Pretty much all I use while painting (and it has the added benefit of perfectly fitting 30mm bases on the edges).
sheikhyerbouti
I know I'm a little late to the conversation, but I just uncovered a box of 2nd Ed. Warhameer 40K stuff - and it includes about a dozen paints. Most of them are dried or separated, but I'm willing to part with them.
