101 - DATA RECOVERY

Objectives:
Analyze a Techno-Device (1 point each)
Recover the Alien Info from Techno-Device or enemy model (2 points)
Transmit the Alien Info (2 points)
Hack enemy transmission of Alien Info (1 point each)

Deployment:
Mechanized Deployment is not allowed.
Deploying outside the deployment zone with Infiltration requires a PH-6 roll, and past the halfway line accrues additional modifiers as normal.
Deploying outside the deployment zone with Impersonation requires a WIP-6 roll, and inside the enemy deployment zone is a WIP-9 roll.

Scenario Rules:

Recovery Team
Only Engineers and Hackers may recover Alien Info. They may not do this through G:Servant Remotes or Repeaters.

Imprecise Objective
There are 3 Techno-Devices on the board - one in the center of the table, one 4 inches from the table edge and 4 inches from the center line towards one player's table edge, and the other a mirror image on the other side (towards the other player). These are marked on the board with a 40mm diameter marker (or scenery of equivalent size).

Analyzing a Techno Device requires a short skill and a normal WIP roll for an Engineer (or a WIP-6 roll for a Hacker). Repeated attempts can be made with additional orders. When the first Techno-Device is analyzed, a roll is made to determine if it contains the Alien Info.

1-4: This device contains the Alien Info.
5-10:  The nearest device contains the Alien info. If this is the center device, randomly determine which of the other 2 contains the Alien Info.
11-20: The farthest device contains the Alien Info. If this is the center device, randomly determine which of the other 2 contains the Alien Info.

Alien Info Recovery
Recovering the Alien Info requires a normal WIP roll for an Engineer (or a WIP-6 roll for a Hacker). Repeated attempts can be made with additional orders. The Alien Info can be downloaded by any number of troops from either side.

Once downloaded by a figure, that figure is in possession of the Alien Info. If the figure is rendered Unconscious or Dead, it must remain on the table. Any Engineer or Hacker from either side may take the Alien Info with a normal WIP roll (or WIP-6 for a Hacker).

Transmitting the Alien Info
Transmitting the Alien Info requires 1 order and a WIP-6 roll by the Engineer or Hacker. This action cannot be taken on the first turn.

Hacking the Transmission
Any Hacker may attempt to hack the enemy transmission with a FtF roll WIP against the transmission roll. If successful, the figure that attempted to transmit the Alien Info cannot try again this turn, but other figures with the Alien Info may try.

Encrypting the Alien Info
When an Engineer or Hacker is in BtB contact with an EVO Repeater or Baggage model, he may encrypt the data without making a roll or spending an order.

Transmitting encrypted Alien Info has no modifier (normal WIP roll) and attempts to hack the transmission have a -3 modifier.

End of the Mission:
The game ends at the end of the turn in which the Alien Info is transmitted successfully. That player is the victor.

Though in reflection, if we were to do a whole Paridiso campaign from the begining sign me up.

we are starting off with 101.  after reading the mission seems pretty simple.  ive heard though that a couple are quite confusing.  I love ITS as well, just want a changeup as awaiting new ITS season/H3N3!

Also, we need to get a game in sometime...

Our group played through the entire thing, and every mission we just started by reading it and agreeing on how to execute it. If anything felt ambiguous, we just made a ruling before deployment. That campaign will make you learn the rules so much better considering how crazy it can get!

Had tons of fun, and came out with the same lasting moments and memories that I remember from mordheim. Including my locking down an escape path to the life pods through the destructing space station with one of my troops, only to have my opponent dive in to it with a warcor and hit the button to launch.

Everything else died and it was glorious.

Takes commitment and serious solution finding!

Playing through it diligently is what really gave me a broad grasp on the rules, and greatly increased my flexibility in game.

Probably not for everyone, but for those it is for, it is excellence~
