New to infinity:Nomads

Hello All,

Well I've decided to make the plunge into Infinity. I've always been intrigued but the models and game play. Then after going to this years OFCC and seeing all of the awesome tables and painted models I said to hell with it and ordered a few models. After looking through all the different factions I finally landed on Nomads. The look, fluff and models just appealed to me the most.  The list below is the models I actually bought for a 200 pt list and what I am thinking about adding at a later date for 300. When I actually get them put together I'll probably post them here and make this a painting log. Anyway any thoughts or advice you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nate

Since Infinity is an resource management game, you may wish to consider a few cheap units like Alguaciles or Moderators to pump orders into the Geckos and shenanigan pieces like the Prowlers and Zeros. Your range bands are covered, but you are lacking a Lieutenant. Tomcats are great pieces, especially Doctors and Engineers, but three may be too many since you cannot use their orders in the pool until they land.

Yea what RD said is right on. You can generally play pretty close to what you like in infinity but orders is the one serious limitation. look up some suggestions on how to make lists online. Generally speaking you want to have 8 plus orders in a primary group and if you do 2 groups I think 4 is kind of a minimum for an effective second group. As a beginner and playing the pieces it seems you like I'd shoot for a 10 order list. Try and have a few specialists(4 at least) too to get use to ITS mission style lists. As RD said you will need some order feeders for those boss pieces. Add some jaguars(personally my fave), aguaciles or moderators to feed orders. You can also use one prowler as a specialist operative with combi lft and adhesive. Love that profile! But yea you need to add some line troopers and once you play it will make sense why! Go to the infinity forums and read about some of the basics people post on there about list building which is pretty helpful! Play with it a bit on army and have fun. Welcome btw!

Thanks for the advice! looking at the different units and starting to read some of the rules, i see where i was short. I decided that i'll probably pick one of the starter packs to fill my line infantry slots. (probably were i should have started, but I kind of went buy crazy. oops.

I like it!  Nice take on the Red/White/Blue!  Good work on the bases too.  Also, Spektr proves you've got "the hang of these guys".

I'm happy to offer you a friendly noob game down at WOW some sunday(soon!).  The guys down there have been great with coaching and helping to understand the layers of flavor to the gameplay.

Come on down!

Thanks! I just kind of just wing it on the colors most of the time!  the bases I picked up some a while back and finally found a use for them. They're resin, but I'm not sure what company makes them. which kind of sucks because I don't have any in the size that'll fit the geckos.

As for the game, I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately I'm not in the area and I'm pretty much just stuck painting models for the next couple of months. But I for sure know where to go next time I find myself in your neck of the woods!.

Oh I'll also be working on Hell Cats not Wild Cats. I got confused, kind get the feeling Nomads are like the crazy cat people of the future.

Thanks I was really happy how the skull helmet turned out. I thought it looked odd with just the two eyes on the one side so I decided to add a little something. here are some more picture of the Hell Cats the uploader was being weird. Also here Is the Squad all together so far.

And now stay tune where I get to work on my TAG!

Hello Again!

I hope everyone's Holidays were a good one! Over the last week I didn't have much of anywhere to go so I started knocking out one of my Gecko TAGs. I must say that its been a hot minute since ive put over 4-5 hours probably more into just one model, but I think the time and effort were very much worth it! I don't think he's 100% done yet. there are a few areas i'll need to go back and touch up here and there, but I wanted to share him anyway. As always let me know what you think!

Thanks guys! So i'm thinking about spending my time at OFCC playing Infinity instead of 40k. (pending if my schedule is clear, and i find a team)

Playing around with list, i really want to bring my Gecko. I know its a huge point skin but its way too cool not to bring. So here is the list I would potentially bring out of OFCC. What do you think?

I'd consider dropping the Intruder as your lieutenant.   They make for a great, survivable LT, but it's a lot points on a model that might do nothing all game but hide and try to stay safe.   This is what I would change:

You lose the prowler in exchange for the HMG intruder, but that gives you a high-powered shooter and access to MSV2 on a non-LT model.   Also you get to squeeze in a few extra orders, and get access to an FO which might help with possible checklist items.   Just my 2 cents!
