Anyone up for 2.0 9th Age? The rules are out now so your moratoriums on playing can cease! Also if you haven't played yet, now's the perfect time to start! Also I'd suggest we play on January 2nd and not February 1st!

Looks like they settled on a location. 1200 10th St in Fairhaven. I think they made a pretty huge mistake and I'm pretty happy about it.

The tokens play really well and while I don't physically like the cards as a component, the system works fine if you use a d8 and just track what you rolled each round to avoid dupes.

From the internal playtesting I've been doing, I really enjoy the new edition; the new magic phase is awesome!

They are: Sunday, December 17: Main Rulebook Monday, December 18: Paths of Magic Tuesday, December 19: Beast Herds, Daemon Legions, Dread Elves Wednesday, December 20: Dwarven Holds, Empire of Sonnstahl, Highborn Elves Thursday, December 21: Infernal Dwarves, Kingdom of Equitaine, Ogre Kingdoms Friday, December 22: Orcs & Goblins, Saurian Ancients, Sylvan Elves Saturday, December 23: Vermin Swarm, Undying Dynasties, Vampire Covenant Sunday, December 24: Warriors of the Dark Gods - Full Army Book This is a public beta for the new edition and will be a work in progress though 2018 with minor fixes coming out every few months as people settle into the new system. Big thanks to those of you that have gotten a chance to playtest the new rules with me and I'm hoping that we can get some more games in soon! Per the poll Jim posted, it looks like the winning date for our annual gift exchange will be next Tuesday, December 12! For those not familiar with our style of exchanging gifts, here's the rules rundown copy/pasted through the years: The main point is that you should bring a gift that you think people would want and in turn you will receive an awesome gift that someone else thought you would want! Have fun!

I think there could be a market to turn a new store into a successful space, but I think you might be better off excluding comics from the menu as Comics Place has those on lockdown pretty hard, especially with their expansion into Fairhaven. I also heard from a Comics Place Facebook post that the previous owners of Cosmic are already redirecting all of their old subscribers to Comics Place so you might have a hard time pulling in that audience. I do think a shop selling super accessible games like Magic and Destiny right next to the High School is a good business plan though and if you focus on having a very welcoming atmosphere, especially to women and younger folk (which are groups more likely to be intimidated by DT's more heavy-nerd vibe), I think that could be an area to shine in. I have also heard some rumors about yet another game store attempting to open up in town from a former co-worker and also there is the GW store coming in so this may either be a good time to get in or a really bad time when there will be lots of competition. I'm no business expert!

I've been reading up on Runewars today and I'm starting to get curious on how it plays. Is this something anyone else has been interested in at all? Does anyone actually own the core set yet?

What is this "non-booze" you speak of? I don't understand.
