  1. And they've given more reasons to get more characters which is pretty much the highest pricepoint per model.
  2. I would highly recommend getting a set of army painter drybrushes. They are rounded brushes, almost like tiny makeup brushes....but they work really well and make drybrushing so much easier. Also, can't recommend enough a good spray primer over a brush-on primer. Welcome back and have fun.
  3. the fact that I think I'll be able to play any army with only about an hour prep is a huge improvement over 9th already.
  4. Hey Ordo, So visited Lincoln City for a few days this past week. Did a quick google search and came across a new store (to me anyways) called Lock & Key. Very nice place right off the 101 in Lincoln City. Husband and wife (Josh and Miranda) run the store and its a really nice place. Great selection of board games, RPGs, and various table top wargames. They had battletech, 40k, AOS, HH, and the Star Wars games. Had several tables to play with terrain available too. It was a nice surprise to find such a well stocked game store on the coast. Had a nice time chatting with Josh. If anyone didn't get their hands on a Leviathan set, he still has several unspoken for and offers 5% discount on pre-ordered products. Its always great to find a new place to check out and these guys are worth supporting. https://www.lockandkeyguild.com/
  5. question about Feel No Pain in 10th, do you only roll for the wounds that a model has left? So lets say you have a model with 3 wounds and they take 5 after all saves. Do they take 3 FNP rolls or 5? The battle report I just watched seems to indicate that they would take 3, and passing just one of them keeps the model alive. That seems wrong to me since they actually took 5 wounds. So did the battlereport get it wrong?
  6. So its great that we have datasheets and a starting detachment for each faction. Very cool. But none of that actually allows us to build an army. I've looked over the new Tyranid sheets and there are no costs on them, nor is there a cost reference anywhere in that PDF. So when GW says we can play with existing models, I guess that means in open format where you don't have balanced sides?
  7. okay, so checked my printer, and the exposure was set at 15. Now I went onto elegoo's site and looked up their printer/resin settings and across the board, the exposure for the Jupiter is at least 30. So why the [big bad swear word] is the printer set to 15???? Seriously....why would you have it set there? Ugh, so I've changed it, I've also purchased some water washable resin. But I'll continue my testing with the ABS resin until I get something working. Thanks for the advice and help...
  8. Ugh, okay, that was a total and complete fail. Test build did not stick to the plate at all. I got two disks on the bottom of the vat. I followed the leveling instructions that came with the device. I put in my level paper, lowered the plate, and raised it up a .001 mm at a time until I could pull the paper out with resistance. However, a video I saw said you shouldn't be able to pull out the paper...so not sure if that was the problem or not. Then I learned about cleaning up my build plate and the vat. Where is the best place to do that. I used my laundryroom sink...but it took quite a bit of cleaning to get the sink back to normal. Maybe I need to find a better place to clean that stuff? So once all of the cleaning was done, I've re-leveled the plate this time so that I can't move the paper. Will try again, but not today. Need to clear out the fumes from my basement first.
  9. quick question, leaving the resin in the vat, will the fumes subside when not in use? I'm also going to have to find a sealed vat for my cleaning solution...that smells bad too. I did find a plastic tub with a lid, but its not a sealed connection.
  10. Trying out my Elegoo Jupiter for the first time today. Wow, that kicks off some fumes. I'm going to have to find something to deal with that. It isn't horrible for me, but my wife doesn't like it at all.
  11. Okay, as I read it, I got spun around on the "you can only select each saga once" statement...which is moronic because if you have an ability, what is the point of selecting it again? See? Talking does help. Wow, poor dark angels...makes their ability seem a bit lame. Granted, I understand how it can make a difference, especially with all the "take a battleshock test" abilities out there. I'm going to reserve my judgement a bit longer then... but they will screw it up somewhere..you wait and see.
  12. Ummmm how can you say that? The wolves have to actually accomplish something first...which may take a few turns to get done. So lets say the wolves are going to be without any boost for at least the first two turns. Then, if they get the task done, they get the bonus. versus Black templars simply pick which one of 4 abilities to start with and then they are done. SW - melee weapons get Lethal ---- same as BT SW - melee weapons get sustained 1 ---- same as BT SW - FNP 6+ ---- BT get FNP 6+ and LD 5+ SW - OC + 1 ---- BT 4+ invuln save vs psychic, and ALL melee get Anti-Psyker 4+ That....that seems even to you? Please, explain that to me, because it seems extremely unbalanced (compared to each other of course, not in general). Granted, maybe they are going to balance it out in a different way...maybe SW get point decreases across the board compared to BT.... Not going to hold my breath though.
  13. GW's famous rules design in on full display once again. I'm reading the Marine Chapter's rules they just spewed out. WTF? So Space Wolves have to accomplish something in order to get a army wide ability, while every other chapter just gets to start with it?? Really? Which designer at GW has a hard on for Templars? They get to pick which ability they want. Must be nice. Have Templar kit sales been down? Need a little boost? Ugh, [big bad swear word] like this just really pisses me off. There is simply no reason for it.
  14. Looking for some advice on getting golf clubs for my wife. She's currently using a set well over 20 years old. so just need to update. she's 5'7"
  15. I was the 651st backer and in total dropped a little over $400. 😳
  16. And the special character requirement just got another boost. What Thousand Sons army is not going to have Ahriman? He gives you 3 Cabal points a round, adds 1 to the wound roll of a unit he's in, and allows you a free Ritual once per game. That might not sound so bad unless one of the rituals prevented a unit from making any armor saves that phase. What the hell?? Granted, I'm not a competitive player anymore and this won't personally impact me...but I still think its poor design. The vast majority of special characters I have seen pretty much make them "must haves" for their armies. That is [big bad swear word] design. But if you want to make sure you sell the extra expensive models....its great. 🙄
  17. Dang, had I not just bought one, this would have been perfect. Very nice paint job too. You should get at least one image to load in the post.
  18. Curious if anyone has an extra Nachmund rulebook that contains the chaos KT rules in it. I have a Chalnath book that I could trade.
  19. Anyone else worried about special characters in 10th edition and how every army is going to have at least one if not more in them? I mean come on. Every single one they highlight can take out a complete marine squad in one round of combat. I can say I don't really like that. EDIT: okay, so after they highlight mechanicus, they have a special character that can't wipe out a 10 man marine unit in one turn.
  20. 6th ed was the glory days for me with WFB....the game went down hill after that.
  21. this looks great. I was always a fan of 6th ed....would love to find some other folks to play that again.
  22. Would also consider a combat patrol box or other unpainted nids in general. 🙂
